By far my self-proclaimed "Cheers". Â I don't know if it's a good thing when all the bartenders know your name, but never the less - it's true. Â The staff here are super friendly, professional, and are quick to engage in conversation to make you feel more like an actual person, as opposed to a customer/bill. Â They offer a rewards program for those who visit their chain frequently with some really great perks ranging from 50% off your wings FOR LIFE to their "Mug Club" which enables all your tall beers to be the price of their pints.
They have a huge two room smoking section and a large closed off non-smoking section, both sporting pool tables and TONS of TVs throughout the establishment with even more seating to accommodate. Â My 'go to' place for having a bunch of friends to catch a sports event.
Their food isn't half bad, either. Â It's not killer, but it's DEFINITELY not poor. Â The food I'd rate a 3.5 based on quality, but it is a bit pricey.
It's a cool place (lot's of Beers/Bar food). Â But beware, IT'S A SMOKERS bar! Â One of the few bars where the main bar area (with all the TV's and cool atmosphere) is the smoking portion. Â NON-Smokers are sectioned off to a very boring side room. Â I'm a non-smoker and won't be back. Â But if cigarettes are A-O-K with you, you will find this place pretty good.
Review Source:I ended up at Bailey's last night for a Spades Meetup Group with two friends. Â For that purpose, they were great. Â The space accommodated us 40 or so card players nicely, and the waitresses were friendly and took care of us quickly. Â We ended up having a really good time.
I was hungry, but I'm not big on bar/pub food, so I ordered a steak salad. Â It wasn't very good. Â I hate a watery salad, and this one was watery. Â How does it even get that way? Â It really didn't have much flavor even with blue cheese and steak. Â :-/
The Sam Adams Oktoberfest was good, lol.
Bailey's, both the one in Midlothian and the one in Arlington, are places that don't really know what they want to be. Â I think it's a sports bar for people who aren't going to actually watch sports. Â It's good for big groups, in the sense that it is very large and much of the food was prepared weeks ago.
They serve put food, and the quality ranges from mediocre to bad (the pretzels, a starred appetizer, were almost awful). Â The decent tap list and the relatively well-kept pool tables are highlights. Â I can't imagine that someone taking the time to look up restaurant reviews would enjoy the food at Bailey's, but I suppose that's not the point. Â Eat elsewhere, if you must go.
My wife and I ate there for dinner tonight. The service was great, when I drained my ice tea very quickly the waitress brought me a refill and an extra glass as well. I had the Napa valley spinach salad and a side of wings for an appetizer. The wings were great, although I'll go for the hot wings next time, the medium weren't spicy enough for me.
My wife got the cheeseburger and she said it was much better than others she's had at similar restaurants.
Rating 2.5
First visited recently for a work event. Â I thought Bailey's was an upscale restaurant but it's a diveish sports bar. Â Suburban location, plenty of parking in the lot. Â Guinness on tap!! Â Definite plus. Â The event started with around 30 people and grew to around 200. Â Service diminished as the crowd grew. Â I ordered several orders of nachos and chicken somethings. Â It took about 30 minutes for the appetizers to arrive. Â Food was mediocre at best. Â Some of my colleagues ordered dinner later in the evening, but after waiting 30 plus minutes, decided to leave. Â Plenty of TVs broadcasting different sporting events +, Â a couple of pool tables +, Â fairly spacious +, Â mediocre food -, Â service good but lacking when crowded -.
Great place for lunch. Â Food is pretty good. Â Service is spotty at times but usually better then worse. Â Pool room can be blasting with music but volume control is at the the little bus station near the back wall. Â I always have to go over and adjust it, so I can hear what my buddies are saying.
I have been for a few UFC events in the past and it does pack up. Â Other than that, I have only taking advantage of the Free Pool at lunch. Â Get there early to get a table if you want free pool, they only have a few tables.
Giant TV's so everywhere you sit you can see whatever sports they are showing.
This is the kind of place I would typically hate, but somehow I get drawn back over and over again. Â I feel like it's the perfect mix of douchebaggery and decent bar. Â I'm particularly pleased with their outdoor patio. It's nothing fancy, not a good view, but still relaxing and the service has always been nice and attentitive.
Food is just slightly above par, better than most sports bars. Â I think one major perk is they regularly have bar specials that are actually decent deals. $2.50 pints of draft beers is pretty darn good.
PROS: Â Being from out of town during the Stanley Cup finals on business as a Philadelphia Flyers fan, I have to give this place mad props for great food and having a vast array of sports on TV. Â I stayed at the Holiday Inn Koger Center around the corner. Â Place was very accomodating and I wish I knew the name of the waitress with dark blonde hair, short, cute Southern accent... damn I forget!
