Ended up here with a small group the other night after hitting a few dive bars near downtown. Â Someone in the group suggested we make this our last stop before going our separate ways. Â Parking wasn't bad, but since season recently ended, it was pretty dead - my guess is that if Bambusa were slam packed, parking would've been a challenge since the lot is small/narrow.
Btw, full disclosure, Bambusa is a gay friendly establishment. Â If this freaks you out, stop reading my reviews and unfriend me - I don't need you. Â The door greeter and the rest of staff were extremely friendly as they welcomed our group.
Only a few people were inside, but I was immediately impressed at how nice it was inside. Â Very nice decor as well with plenty of hi-top tables as well as dining tables surrounding the central bar. Â I was mainly surprised because it's located in a fairly run down strip mall. Â We were hoping that they would have karaoke that night, but that's evidently on Friday nights....so no luck.
Bartender was very nice, we ordered drinks and they were delivered promptly. Â I was disappointed to hear that they didn't sell Red Bull. Â How any establishment can elect to carry something called Turbo instead of Red Bull is beyond me. Â BTW, Turbo is AWFUL.....
Bathrooms were ultra clean and well appointed. Â All in all, I'd go back just to check out the food and perhaps live music/karaoke.
I only gave 3 stars based on the lack of anything going on that night as well as the awful Turbo (Red Bull alternative). Â I look forward to updating my review in the near future
Really fun bar. Nice crowd and cool regulars. I liked the vibe and it seems to have a strong communal backing as the last gay bar in Naples. Was really bothered by the fact that the bartender Matt pretended to be gay while tending bar - not an appropriate way to earn tips. Other than that, good place and hope it continues to be supported.
Review Source:Living in Naples for 25+ years my wife and I understand how hard it is to find good food here. This place serves excellent food at excellent prices. We especially love to go friday after work because their appetizers are at least %25 off.
My wife and I have eaten here several times and have yet to have anything less than very good!
The only negatives about this place is that it does have constant, loud dance music , and the service can be a little slow sometimes.
Otherwise love and highly recommended this place!
I've been here a handful of time while visiting Napes. Â I grew up here... and when I was underage used to go to The Galley on 5th... that was a charming place. Â Miss it. Â Oh right BamBam...
... not really that memorable. Â Pretty bad location. Â Out of the maybe 10 times I've visited over the last 5-6 years, I had fun once... because I ran into some old friends. Â The other times, it was just okay. Â
Now though this is the only... the last gay bar in Naples. Â So sad.
It's funny... I remember Naples being more liberal and gay friendly back in the early 2000s more so than today. Â It's gotten a lot more 'southern'. Â Every time I come back after being gone for six months it feels different. Â
Someone needs to open another cute little gay bar on 5th Ave again.
We visited Naples recently and loved Bambusa. Â The staff is super friendly and make guests feel welcome, and the atmosphere is very comfortable: new and spotless clean, smoke free, great design, nice audio/video. Â Bambusa is located about 1/2 mile from old Naples. Â It's both a bar and a restaurant with casual dining.
Review Source:Another very friendly gay spot to visit in Naples. Â Bambusa features both a restaurant and bar. Â I was in town for business so I only saw a weeknight crowd for dinner. Â The food and the service were both nice. Â
Unfortunately, my coworkers did not want to hang out for Karaoke so I cannot report on that. . . maybe next trip!
