The BEST RIBS EVER!!!! Do yourself a favor and order the whole rack.
none of that slathered with BBQ sauce bullshit. straight up rubbed down with awesomeness  and smoked to fall off the bone perfection.  You can smell the decadence from the parking lot
the okra was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Delicious!
the toast was very soft yet crispy on the edges, buttery goodness.. oooohh....
the soup was just meh, don't bother.
the waitress was very attentive despite having so many tables.
LOVED the homemade sauces in squeeze bottles on the side. 5 total. taste them all!
Good smoky BBQ
Drove around the place before parking. Â There was a guy in the back, working a smoker, so I knew it was real before I walked in. Â Half the cities highway patrolmen were eating there too, which gave me clue #2, I would be ok.
Ordered a sampler, pulled pork & beef and begged for a sample of the sausage. Â The pork and beef had smoke rings as well as a smoky smell. Â Everything was moist and tasty. Â This is a chain that I would come back to.
My parents took my husband and I here while visiting. My husband wanted awesome BBQ, so my dad took us here. And awesome BBQ we had! We ordered the sampler platter that gave us a little of everything. The ribs were especially amazing, probably the best we've ever had! It's a great affordable restaurant too. We're planning on returning for some awesome grub when we return for a visit!
Review Source:I ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, cole slaw, and fried okra. Â This was the first time I ever tried pulled pork and fried okra.
The pulled pork sandwich was delicious! I tried it with, and without, BBQ sauce--and loved both. Â I wound up going with a sweet sauce--Chicago, I think. Â The bread was very good. The meat was cooked perfectly. The overall flavor was great! Â The sandwich was pretty filling.
The cole slaw was creamy and good. The produce was fresh. The cole slaw flavor was balanced and enjoyable.
The fried okra was good, too. Â I don't know that I would order it again. It tasted like fried something, but I wasn't "wow-ed." Â I tried it plain, with the bbq sauce, and with ranch.
The restaurant was clean and very casual. Â There's plenty of parking. There was no wait when I got there.
The hostess was super friendly. She made small talk with me and she made me feel very welcome. She even opened the door for me as I left.
The server was professional. She did not rush me. Service was pretty quick.
Pretty lousy service. Â I always order online when I can and my food is never ready. Â For example on my latest visit, the online system allowed me to enter a time for pickup. Â I put in a half hour and the system accepted the time. Â I thought a half hour was a reasonable amount of time to prepare two meals. Â I arrived at the store a few minutes late only wait another twenty-five minutes for my order. Â This is completely unacceptable! Â To top it off, they didn't process my payment online. Â The cashier apologized for the payment issue but said nothing about my wait. Â
The food is mediocre at best. Â The ribs are a shot in the dark.....sometimes they are nice and moist while other times they are dry and rubbery. Â The beef and pork are your everyday standard BBQ....nothing to write home to mom about.
Another one of the places from "back home" that I miss now that I'm in Chicago-land. Â I've only ordered one thing here because it was recommended to me the first time we went and it was so good there's no need to venture to anything else, and that would be the pork platter. Â I like that the pork is more chopped than pulled, so it's more meaty than stringy. Â The bread that comes with it is delicious but pretty rich; there'll be no room for dessert. Â I love the squeeze bottles of sauce on the table. Â I notice that my parents tend to enjoy one particular flavor and stick with it, but I like rotating bites with every flavor of sauce. Â I like the regular tangy mustard based sauce the most and then the sweet and smoky one is 2nd best. Â Even though the Fairview Heights location was closer to home, my family preferred the Collinsville location and would driver further out because the dining room just has a better feel and energy to it.
Review Source:First of all, the other review about the meat being dry and the sauces being unremarkable is definitely wrong, in my opinion. We stopped in on our way to Columbia, not really knowing what to expect. Delicious!!! The rub they use is so incredible that you barely need to use any of their signature sauces. That doesnt mean that you shouldn't try them because they are amazing! The wait staff, especially Kevin, was extremely attentive and pleasant. We are so impressed that we plan on stopping back for a meal on our way home! Definitely a barbeque gem.
Review Source:Been here quite a few times, and after a recent visit I decided to enter a review to Yelp.
I have never had a bad meal at this place. Pork, turkey, chicken, brisket, sausage, it's all good. Almost as important as the quality of the food is the quantity you get, you will not leave hungry. The sauces are ok at best, nothing special. I suggest the spicy version. Good sides available with your order: green beans, baked beans, coleslaw, corn, potato salad, french fries, and I feel like I'm forgetting one. The bread served with the meal is also really good.
This place is right off I-55 in Collinsville, with lots of parking and a great staff.
Very good BBQ. The meat is incredibly tender. How they can get turkey breast to be so moist is beyond my comprehension! Try the Brunswick stew - I'm now a huge fan of the stuff. Also, if you've never had boiled peanuts - these things are addictive. I think Bandanas is slightly better than the Edwardsville BBQ place - Bully's. At least a lot more consistant. Simple food, reasonable prices, very good quality.
