Banklick Tavern

It was a dark and stormy night.. the road was curvy and the rain was falling down in a heavy mist. As we were driving I heard a familiar sound that I couldn't quite make out yet.. was it a guitar? a violin...? no, it was a banjo. We were driving into the set of the Deliverance.

Ok, So I'm exaggerating but only a bit.. there was no banjo music, but if you don't know this place is back here, you really have no reason to be in these dark woods in the dead of the night. (Unless you play the banjo, that is..)

As we drove around the sharp turns and twists I flipped on my brights afraid of a deer or random person running out in front of us. The first driveway sneaks up on you, and I'd advise you not to take that one, but head down a little farther to the next. I thought we were going to roll down the hill.. Great.. banjo music, car flips over.. this night is going to be interesting...

Banklick is a hole in the wall bar, and it was a fun little place despite the scary setting. It's lit up pretty well and there looked to be an outside patio that I'm sure is awesome in the summer time. As we stepped out of the car we see a little house type building with an addition built on. It's odd, but sorta eclectic.

They had Yuengling on tap, which was a surprise. I didn't drink anything so I can't attest to the drink prices, but Iheard they were cheaper before karaoke began. If you live in the Colrain area, you should give this place a shot. Pool is only .50, reasonable drink prices, karaoke and the vague impression of banjo music in the distance... maybe that was just the karaoke I heard...

Oh and one other thing.. this place is CASH ONLY!!!
