On a very hot July evening, my husband and I were able to get one of the last seatings. Â It is beautifully landscaped and a very charming building. Â We knew immediately we were going to try the tasting menu. Â Overall, it was nice but nothing to write home about..for sure it would be disappointing if we compare it to other tasting menus we've enjoyed in NYC and SFO. Â Off the tasting menu, the salad was fantastic, the lobster in the seafood pasta was chewy, the skirt steak was sitting in a cup of oil and some herbs (and we couldn't muster up any smiles when the waiter said the steaks were flown in from Ohio), and I honestly can't remember the rest of the meal but it was nothing to write home about. Â For that area, I expected it to stand out. Â For that price I would say there are far better places to enjoy nearby.
I've heard Chef Jeremy is wonderful, maybe we should have confirmed he was in before we headed over. Â I will give it another try, specifically to try what the chef does with a cut of meat from John Boy's Farm.
Very nice breakfast at the Barn outside on the patio. Â Smoked salmon crepe cake was tasty, as well was the quinoa lentil salad. Â Been here a few times for dinner, but was a first for breakfast/lunch. Â Barn is more casual and laid back so we enjoyed sitting in shorts and sandals able to enjoy the nice weather.
Review Source:Breakfast at the Beford Post Inn: Â the food was impressive from the traditional to some great alternatives. Â Duck egg with Asparagus and And the quinoa lentil salad. Â However, the service was poor and not just for us, many tables around us were either asking for their checks or telling the server that they were ready to order. Â Note to Management- please train your staff. Â The server was buried and no one bailed her out. Â So, Food Is a 4 and service is it 2 at breakfast.
