I've been wanting to check this place out for 2 months. Tonight, we wanted to hear the "live entertainment" so we checked it out. We loved the entertainers, and would have hired them (and really planned to), except that they chose to try to drown us out with music when we explained our displeasure to the staff, after asking them to give us a minute (there was no one else in the bar, so no reason why thy couldn't wait to play until we were done talking with the staff.)
The wine was fantastic - I had the Merlot, Jim had the Port - both great and a fine value at $7/glass.
However, the bartender was very flippant and seemed like she should be working at some high-faluting bar in Snottsdale or something, based on her attitude. She obviously realized she wasn't going to retire on our tip (though we tip well for good service) and therefore decided to provide us with no service. When Jim mentioned to me that his glass had been empty for over 10 minutes I emphatically looked over my shoulder at his glass. The bartender immediately came over and asked if he wanted another, which at this point, was a "NO".
Some guy in a hoodie came in, behind the counter and was talking to the bartender. While we were trying to listen to the music. It was disturbing, and when the only other couple who had entered the place the entire time we were there finished their one and only drink and left, we asked the performers to give us a minute to address the rudeness of the bartender. That's when the guy in the hoodie got defensive (he wasn't even "on duty" that night - why was he behind the bar?) and the performers explained that this might be the last night this place was open.
Well, we can understand why this place won't be open any longer, the service sucks.
Wow, an entire bottle of wine for $12.00 plus free live entertainment on the outdoor patio ... what more do you need! Â I was recently here with my mother in law and husband on a drinks-only adventure (also part of a vacation trip). Â We love the white wine that we ordered - so much we had a few more bottles. Â We also LOVED the guitar playing signer that provided excellent live entertainment outside on the patio the entire time we were there. Â
It was definitely one of the best nights I've had in Corvallis. Â Hopefully, next time I will try the food and update my review.
We love this tasting room. Â Where else can you get a quality $10 bottle of wine in downtown Corvallis? Â We like to sit outside after visiting the Saturday Farmers market and people watch.
They are also doing live music on Friday nights and they have their own menu of food, cooked by Aqua. Â Great friendly staff, great affordable wine and a great location on the park.
They also serve very affordable bread and cheese. Â Bread from Big River and the Cheese is local (the name escapes me)
If you ever have some time to kill stop in, you won't regret it.
Belle Vallee has been a favorite for many years. Â Try their Cabernet or Pinot Reserve. Â Their new dinner menu, courtesy of our favorite restaurant, Aqua, takes Belle Vallee to the next level. Â Ahi Nachos, Avocado Salad, and Plank baked Salmon are incredible! Â Say hi to Heidi & Barbara when you visit!
Review Source:I was treated so rudely by this business during Rhapsody in the Vineyard that I will cease to patronize the establishment. Our group was suggested to go with another group inside the place so we could find out about charging the wine walk to a credit card. We were told the first group was friends of the business and would be allowed to use credit. If our group wished to charge, we would have to pay an additional 5 percent. Wow. I think I will friend a different place from now on when I take family and friends out for an afternoon at the riverfront. Needless to say it put a damper on things. It was the way we were informed.
