Crab cake appetizers: savory & spicy. Â Creole eggrolls - hot & sweet. Â Po-boys - had the lot of 'em, and they're all at par or above (had a nasty oyster one once, but they took good care of me and fixed it).
They're nice as hell, the owner (I think his name is Mike) is always friendly - even to giant robot terrestrials - and they've got really nice specials. I've unfortunately driven up here on my weekly commute to Snellville a few times to find them closed on certain days. I think they're struggling, which prompted me to write this review.
If you're in the Snellville, Lithonia, Stone Mountain areas and need a good bite to eat, come here. They do get most of their grub from a truck before they beat it into tasty submission, but they really do take pride in their craft. The owner is from Louisiana and it shows in the gumbo. Oh-my-god - when they have that, it's the best! Â The sausage, the rice, just enough okra but not too much - a little hot sauce (I like things spicier than most), and I'm in heaven.
Recently brought a few Autobots here for a pre-attack party. We didn't get wasted (no liquor license here right now, just beer/wine), but we had awesome, attentive service from our bubbly waitress and our party enjoyed just about everything on the menu.
Note: I once had a steak here either wrapped in spinach or on top of it - can't remember - but what I do remember was that it was tender and delicious. Seriously, humans - give it a whirl!
Optimus OUT.
