Bert's Hometown Grill & Pizzeria

Like several of the disappointed people on here I expected better from the packed parking lot every time I come by.   Had the lasagna.    Well let me take that back.  I tried to have the lasagna.  After it was ice cold in the middle the first time   I sent it back and was still cold the second.  Time. Told them no thinks.  They kindly took it off my ticket.   And yea that was sarcasm.   I should have know when the spaghetti and meat sauce had a description of. "Thin strips of pasta". I think most people know what spaghetti is.  Had added the salad bar which is sub par itself.  So far the best food we have eaten was banana pudding from a BBQ place in Marysville  Tn.  And a Mexican place called Monte Real in Tellico  Plains.

I want to like Bert's more and maybe compared to the fast food restaurants in town it's good, but I find the food here is mediocre at best. My family likes to go here, probably because there aren't many places in the area and it's nice to have some variation now and then. This time I tried the Chipotle Chicken sandwich. It was without much flavor and the fried chicken pieces were mostly breading - like 60-70% breading. That wasn't a $9 sandwich in my book. The grilled chicken sandwich at McD's across the street for $6 is much better.

If you think this food is good, please do yourself a favor and visit other restaurants away from Madisonville. But this place is always packed. I'm disappointed my friends and neighbors spend $12 a person here for lunch for low quality food.

Food was awesome, great waitress we really enjoyed our meal. Im going back for the alamo burger! Nice family diner good food!
