We had the specials BBQ chicken and meatloaf with sides. The meatloaf was ok, as was the chicken. Mac and cheese as one of the sides, and it was horrible. Way too much tasteless cheese. Also coleslaw wasn't great. Baked beans and corn were alright. Cobblers were decent, but didnt seem fresh. As the first stop for us visiting Tellico Plains, we were scared this was standard fare, but we found much better food other places. Not recommended.
Review Source:I have always had a thing for the old school diner experience. That's exactly what the lamp post offers. One of the best things about here is they serve breakfast all day. I really enjoyed the country ham breakfast plate with one egg and toast. Very reasonable prices too. Also a reminder that it is cash only and I don't think they have an atm.
Review Source:I'm a sucker for homestyle 'comfort food.' Â Ask a local where to eat whenever you can. Â I was traveling with friends and we visited for lunch. Â Not only did the local from the gas station recommend this place, I checked it out on Yelp too. Â The service was friendly and the food was ok. Â Nothing to write home about...but good nonetheless. Â Would I stop in again? Â Yeah. Â But I wouldn't make a special trip for it either.
My friend ordered the Surfer Burger and it was H-U-G-E and apparently tasty because he wasted no time woofing it down.
