Great selection of beer (and a full bar), and the staff is very friendly! Â The food is bar food, but it's good, considering. Â They have wifi, which is nice for those of us who want to escape and do a little bit of work in a non-Starbucks place every once in a while. Â The waitstaff even hooked me up with a booth that had an accessibly electrical outlet for my laptop. Â I will certainly be coming back!
I do wish they served coffee. Â I really wanted one, but I got over it.
Tuesday night steak night is ridiculous. You get your choice of $9.00 filet or ribeye with a side of smash potatoes , and don't forget the green beans- they are butter baby. Â This is however, whee the buck stops short - due in full part to the conditions of the women's water closet. The 2 outta 3 of the stalls were busted and dripping water 1/2 inch thick on the floor. Ouch! Then, the only saving grace has no toilet paper - hot damn! ; no ma'am.
Come for the steak, stay for the atmosphere, play the games, sit through the pain for fear of the drain...
We were out and about on a Wednesday night and hadn't had dinner yet. We decided to stop in at Big Ben. They weren't too busy when we got there. We sat at the bar and the bartender got to us right away. We ordered some beers while we looked over the menu. They have the basic bar food burgers and etc. Wednesday night is all you can eat crawfish and 50 cent wing night. We ordered some wings and both ordered a burger. The wings took a really long time to come out the bartender said the kitchen was backed up. They had gotten pretty busy while we were there, Â so he gave us some sliders on the house. The sliders ended up coming out at the same time as the wings. The wings were good but really spicy, the burgers were just your average burgers nothing special. The fries were the best part of the meal. We ended up getting the sliders and a few of our beers on the house, for our food taking so long. We even got to sample a few crawfish. Â We will probably go there again.
Review Source:Thursdays, I cant step in to the place because the crowd makes me wish I was 21 lol, but last night (Wed) I met a friend I hadn't seen in months, although the crawfish were small and had to eat 9 lbs to get full, they were tasty. The crowd was mostly 30-40's??? and the enviroment was awesome, expect for the really loud shot taker guy beside us, that wouldn't let anyone get a word in. I may just have my daughter party there;D
Review Source:NOT impressed. Went there on a Friday night with a friend and the place was decent but reminded me of every other Clear Lake bar, think Sherlocks,Scout, etc. We were out on the patio, Â so maybe the inside is calmer. Â It just seemed to be filled with muscle heads and their trashy girlfriends. Not really my scene. It wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. Maybe its different during the day because the inside looked like it could be a nice place to grab a bite and a beer during happy hour. In their defense, I Â did find the heat lamps outside to be a major plus, and I had fun staring at the super hot patio bartender who resembled a dark haired Bradly Cooper.
Review Source:I definitely agree with one of the tips on yelp "like a Sherlock's but ghetto." At least I can say their fries were very good and crispy like I like it. The egg salad was a joke though. Â When I order an egg salad I expect to see some egg, but not this place! Â They do have some food special which was cool. For $8 you got 2 pieces of chicken with mash potatoes and green bean which was seasoned beautifully.
I am not sure who was the manager (jeans and a gray polo with a hat on) but he might have been the guy checking out his bartenders butts and rubbing a servers shoulder. What he should have been doing was making sure his staff was taking care of their customers! We had to keep asking to get our drinks refilled and anytime we were ready to order drinks we had to wait and hopefully flag the bartender down. She was too busy messing with her phone and at one point she even had a conversation on the phone. I sat at the bar with a dirty glass that wasn't even mine for almost 30 minutes. Then we thought we would get service once a second bartender arrived but oh no. He was too busy ordering himself some food then he sat down at the bar to eat and watch TV. LOL seriously I want to work there!
It's a chill place but too chill for me. Even at a chill bar I want service!
This is a bar, mostly, but they serve food too. Â Stopped here for late Saturday lunch. Â Place is called Big Ben, but they go lightly on the English theme: a few posters of London, a British flag, shepherds pie, Bass, Guinness on the menu. Â But it's really just typical American Bar Food and mostly American brands of beer. Â Menu is pretty limited, they're not really about the food.
Voluptuous bartender with low cut blouse having a hard time, no bus help visible and fair number of customers. Â I would have sat in a booth by the window but they all needed to be bussed; she wasn't going to get to it soon and I wasn't going to bus my own table. Â I sat at a table but I shoulda sat at the bar.
I had the Sliders - three small burgers on potato bread rolls, with goat cheese and onion marmalade. Â $6. Â Just right. Â Yummy. Â
They have a stage with sound equipment - I'm guessing they have live music, but why was there a couch sitting on top of a table on the stage? Â Pool tables. Â Some very nice taxidermied deer and antelope. Â They have a large outdoor patio, with a sandbox for the kiddies. Â It looks nice, but it faces the freeway and I'm thinking I wouldn't want to sit there dealing with the traffic noise, even in nice weather.
