Had the sliced beef sandwich with fries as I was in a hurry this lunchtime. Â Beef was pretty flavorful although it did seem to me that I got a lot of the "burnt ends" on my sandwich. Â Not that I mind burnt ends but would have liked to had a little bit more of the fatty beef on the sandwich. Â There were two bottles of BBQ sauce on my table but weren't marked so couldn't tell if they were different or not (anyone know?); sauce was tasty and went well with my sandwich and dipping my fries. Â All in all, not too bad; friendly folks working the place and I would definitely come back again. 3 1/2 stars...
Review Source:I am a big fan of Big Mike's.
I go to Houma occasionally and for the most part always eat at the same place. Since that gets boring I was looking for a new place and found Big Mike's. Since it was located next to where I always fill up, it was easy to find.
The restaurant appears to be a new building, but is designed to look like an old roadside shack. The ordering process is simple. Order at the counter, grab your number, and find your seat.
I have tried the multi-meat sampler platters on both of my visits and have been very pleased. So far I have tried the brisket, pulled pork, sausage and ribs. The sausage is average, but everything else has been excellent. The ribs in particular are nearly perfect. I don't remember exactly how much my combo cost, but it was much more reasonable than would be expected.
I really like Big Mike's and I think you will too.
