Stopped here for a cup of coffee during a rainstorm.

    Bad mistake.

We entered the restaurant and picked a table in the corner with a lot of old, rustic tools hanging on the walls.  The bench to the booth was loose and lifted/rattled as I sat down.

The coffee served was watery and without taste or coffee aroma.  (Blech)

Even instant Nescafe would be better.

Even though we'd been looking forward to a bite to eat, we decided to get up and leave being highly disappointed in the cuppa joe.

Early starts when on a camping road trip can be rough.  People who don't drink coffee don't understand it's importance as a precursor (or appetizer) to breakfast.   If it is so bad that you prefer to leave rather than eat, that's a bad sign.

Some would say that a place is only as good as it's weakest item on the menu.

All I can say is EXCELLENT!!  Service was fantastic! Loved the home-cooked food in a little rustic diner off the highway. Don't pass this place up!

Waitress was wonderful & treated my kids awesome.

Everything on our table tasted great but highly recommend "Those Potatos".

Great little spot right on the highway in Chemult, OR.  We stopped in for breakfast.  Very country, folksy look and feel to it.  It was quiet (a Monday morning), which was nice, and we got a table by a window (most of them were) to soak up the sunshine...especially nice.  The waitress worked alone to handle the customers, ring the orders and bus the tables.  She was very pleasant and social.   Service was good.  The food was really tasty, quickly made and hot.  I had the "Those Potatoes" order (includes big bits of bacon, bell peppers, onions, cheese, parsley, etc.) with eggs, which was excellent.  I recommend it for potato fans (they have another breakfast potato order that's similar, consisting of onions, bits of ham, jalapeño peppers and country gravy, etc.).  My girlfriend had ham steak and eggs, also delicious.  The coffee was also pretty good.  Prices were what you'd expect in a rural roadside cafe.

All in all, a great experience.  We will definitely stop in again the next time we drive through.
