My only hesitation in giving this place a 5 star review is that it will become too popular for the small space the tasting room occupies. Â My wife and I LOVE this place. Â I highly recommend stopping in - especially if your looking for a change of pace from wine tasting all day. Â Craft beer tasting for me, and wine tasting for her. Â In the summer months they do a sparkling wine tasting which she absolutely loves. Â As a "beer enthusiast" and home-brewer I'm always very happy with their beer selection. Â It's not a wide as it could be but it does rotate to some degree and they carry some items that are difficult to find anywhere else. Â The guys behind the bar are always very friendly and knowledgeable. Â Cheers.
Review Source:If you are looking for something different in the Santa Ynez valley, than BiN 2860 is it! Not only do they have an excellent wine selection and rotating tastings, but they have BEER tasting as well! And I'm talking about good, interesting beers from around the world.
This is a great little place tucked away next to Fes Parkers hotel, and it has a nice casual fun feel. Great staff, good wine, great beers!
I honesty don't remember the last time that I had this much fun at a tasting. A friend and I went wine tasting in Los Olivos and stumbled upon Bin. I insisted that we go in for the sole reason that the sign said "beer tasting" and I was just about over wine at that point. As much as I love wine, I love beer more.
Justin, our beer (and wine) connoisseur was extremely knowledgeable and an absolute delight. We tried an eclectic array of beers, all the while, Justin explained the origins, tastes, and the order in which they should be tried. We enjoyed the beer tasting so much (and Justin's company), that we had a wine tasting as well.
We ended up purchasing what seemed like half the store, but no complaints to that. Kudos to Justin, especially for so charmingly putting up with our less than sober state of mind.
The girlfriend and I were on a road-trip northward on highway 1. We took a detour to visit the area where "Sideways" was filmed. We were walking the main street in Los Olivos and stumbled across Bin 2860. Upon entering, we were promptly greeted by the tasting room person and were offered to try the wine or beer tasting. We stuck to the wine tasting, and to our surprise we had an aspiring eonologist named Justin serving and explaining each taste. He was very knowledgeable and could go in as much details as you'd desired, but he was also very personable and the tasting turned into a friendly chat over wine. We felt like the only people at the tasting room. We sipped delicious wine over music and laughter.
The tasting room was a perfect setting for wine-drinking. They managed to spark our interest by comparing local wines from the same grape as foreign wines and to discover the subtle and sometimes drastic differences in the wines.
We would recommend this tasting room over any in Los Olivos. And we are sure it would be as good experience as any in the Santa Ynez Valley.
We walked into this cute little wine tasting room while spending a wonderful afternoon on Grand Avenue in Los Olivos. Â The lady was very friendly and gave us a lot of information on the wines that we were trying, which were all very good. Â The best one was the Malbec at the end. Â They also offer a free wine tasting class on Sunday mornings, which we will be checking out next week. Â I can't wait to go back.
