Word on the street is, The Blazer not only attracts devoted locals but also serves one of the best burgers in the area. Since I don't eat burgers I can't confirm but I can tell you each time I've been here it's been jam packed with people. The wait can get rather long and seating is very limited, especially for larger parties/groups. Service was a little spotty the night I was there. My favorite menu item - the amazing and large portion of steak fries! Also love the ambiance and their diverse beer selection.

1700's looking bldg. and about the same inside. Makes a great burger and big fat fries that are cooked crispy. Cool bar with a galaga video game and an old bowling game.

Four plus if yelp had that option, fer sher. Family
Owned... I'm a local, and yes they know my name. My son does the amazing open faced 'toasted cheese' (as my mother in law calls it.) my hubs, the well reviewed (deservedly) burger. Me? An order of the home breaded, perfectly cooked 'chicken fingers' and a house salad. OF COURSE we bring home the award winning tomato soup, and a full soup cup of homemade bleu cheese dressing. Eating local... At its road food finest.

Clam Chowder. Whoot Whoot!! My generic complaint with The Blazer is  80% of the time, they CANNOT get a burger temp correct. They typically always overcook a burger. To me, if you are using high quality beef, having a burger at Medium Rare is the way to go, and never past medium. Their burgers come out medium-well and well done. Whenever the waitress asks me how I want my burger cooked, I politely respond, "will it matter today?" They know. I;ve been eating at The Blazer since 1989. I keep going back because I'm hopeful that 20% of the time I'll get my burger MY WAY! Fries are good, real good. I do wish that they were slightly thinner rather than the massive wedges that come out. Don't get me wrong I think that this is a good solid restaurant but my complaints here are because since they make several hundred burgers a day, they should be getting 98% correct,,, because THAT'S WHAT THEY DO! Make Burgers. Ok, I've said my peace, and I'll be going back soon anyway.

Best tomato soup in Westchester. Great bang for the buck on the menu: excellent burgers, same for the wings and fries.

Great staff, and always a solid place to meet for lunch, drinks, or an informal dinner.

Time warp atmosphere- the place is the same as I remember from years ago.

    Never disappoints.

The burgers are delicious, thick and not too wide.  Like a baseball.  Great place to relax, excellent for families.  Would like to see a more expansive menu, cleaner bathroom and credit cards allowed.  The food itself is worth aother star but overall have to go with 3 stars.

Okay here's what you do at this place:

Order the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato, and a bowl of their tomato soup. Make sure to have them both delivered to the table at the same time. Then take the sandwich, dunk it into the soup, then put in your mouth. You won't be disappointed.

Overall great food and atmosphere, but sometimes gets a little crowded on nights and weekends.

Solid burger if you're in northern Westchester. Stopped here on the way home from snowboarding. Casual atmosphere, quick service and average wait staff.

Burgers are the perfect size however one wasn't cooked as ordered. Great French fries- order them well done.

Would come again if in the area!

I have been going to the Blazer since I could walk. Great burgers, amazing wings, and a killer fish sandwich. Nice to see Tommy behind the bar even if he does give me a hard time about being a Boston fan (I have seen some not so nice reviews below about Tommy. He is one of the original, old-fashioned barkeeps that you really don't see anymore. Tommy is a staple to the Blazer, cut him a break).  Something about this place reminds me of a warm hug; it's always been there, it hasn't changed, and I hope to God it never will.

Recently had lunch there, it was crowded so instead of waiting we decided to eat at the bar.  The football game was on which was great since my husband really wanted to watch it.  Well the bartender had to be the most rudest man ever if you rather watch the game then wait on your customers than here is a tip "Stay the hell home"  he was annoyed whenever we asked for something, he was getting annoyed with other people as well.  Last time I checked being nice to customers is what keeps us coming back.  I have given them a 5 for food, but right  now for service they get 1 star. He must be a family member that is why he is there.

    WINGS ARE THE KINGS HERE

Great family place with pac man and arcade bowling. Always busy, an out of the way joint for a beer and wings. After the wings, came our lunch. BLT's with tons of bacon, unfortunately not worth finishing, the bacon tough, dry, and taste less. Next the burger (I'm gona get slack for this) yes fat and a little juicy, But The Meat:
Have you Noticed how the chain Super Markets like the  A&P, Shop-rite, etc. no longer label the beef Ground Chuck or Ground Sirloin it's just labeled Ground Beef. Why, because now it's Mystery Meat, the consumer won't even notice, we will make more money.Well Blazers burgers taste of the same quality.

    Tom is the best!
Tomato Soup should not be overlooked.
Chili is great and the burgers are some of the best I've ever had.
Think of them as mini meat loafs on great buttered rolls, that are perfectly melted with cheese.

The Blazer Pub, we had heard of them before due to their amazing burgers, and then just recently heard they make a great wing.  We walked right in and it was very busy but we were promptly seated, no wait.  One thing I liked is that they brought out a pitcher of water for us.  For some reason I wasnt expecting anything great from their wings, but I was wrong.  First thing is their sauce is delicious, I can tell right away if a restaurant makes their own custom wing sauce or if they use the classic franks and butter...this was custom.  The wing size was perfect, very meaty.  The only complaints I have is you only get about 8 wings in the order, I would have expected at least 10 for the price. Also this is just a preference of mine but I like wings slightly crispy, there was no crisp at all here.  The blue cheese was also great, did not seem like an out of the jar blue cheese, it was extremely tasty.

Burger was big and Juicy too. Could have used more bacon.

Fast and Friendly service. Good parking.

Not sure what the big deal is with this place.  I've been there now 3 times and three times disappointed.  Most of us ordered the "famous burgers" which were not very big, on a small bun, and served on a tea plate not even large enough for an extra pickle.  Fries were a la cart ? And no refills on a $3.50 iced tea??  We spent $100 on hamburgers & the waitress never cracked a smile once - bogus

Let me start by saying this.  I consider myself a die-hard burger fan.  I've been to many places that lay claim to the "Best Hamburger In Westchester/NY/The World".  The Blazer is the winner, and in my opinion it isn't all that close.  The funny thing about it is that they also have the best french fries in the world too.

The burger is a small but thick patty with just a fantastic flavor.  I recommend getting the burger on a hard roll, as the rolls they come with are a little small for my liking.  Everytime I go out and get a burger, my wife asks "is it better than the Blazer?".  The answer is always a resounding NO.

As for the fries, they are thick steak fries.  I find that ordering them "extra crispy" is the best way to have them.  Their chili is obviously the same meat as the burger, and is my favorite chili as well.  They also have added buffalo wings to the menu, and they are simply fantastic.

All in all the Blazer is a dive bar with some of the best bar food you will find.  The people there are all very nice and I can't recommend it enough!

A no drama place to the tee.  I came here last Wednesday to have some beers and burgers with some co-workers and it did not disappoint.  I had to travel 30 minutes north of Greenwich and then take a 1 hour train ride home back the city...and it was definitely worth every single minute.  Delicious beers, great appetizers (buffalo wings), great burgers and excellent service.

Short menu so deciding did not take that long at all.  It's a little bit out in the middle of nowhere so be prepared for that.  The only negative thing I would have to say is that the fries didn't blow me away...but I am the type of kid who likes McDonalds french fries anyway.

I love this place!  In fact, it's one of my favorite remedies for a hangover.  Pure indulgence and the prices are ridiculously reasonable!  The burger is always satisfying, the monster size fries never disappoint, they are so thick but always crunchy on the outside and cooked well in the middle... and they absolutely hands down have the best chicken fingers ever.  The place is casual and unpretentious, with plastic red and white checkered tablecloths.  It's a great place to take kids. no one minds.  The waitresses are super attentive and friendly.  I've never had a bad meal there and I've been a fan for over 10 years!
Just bring cash 'cause up until recently they didn't take plastic.

This is a retroactive review, I haven't been up to The Blazer in years, but it was a go-to spot for dinners with my Grandfather ... whose mug is probably still behind Tommy's bar even though he passed away over five years ago.

The burgers were awesome, I'd always have two (back when I was a kid with a ridiculous metabolism) and the fries were serious business.  Hopefully I'll be back up soon, it's worth a trip on Metro-North.

Hope the bowling game still works.

My friend and I are on the search for the best burger. For decades I've heard about the phenomenal wings and burgers at Blazer pub in Purdys NY. Although we passed up the wings for the "Award winning"  tomato soup with bacon the meal didn't let us down.

While waiting for our order, we enjoyed the environment, scenery, and various items hung on the wall. One that caught Our eye was an old liquor license from the 1920s.

The soup arrived first and wow.  Then the burger and the first thing we noticed was that, like many burgers, it was delivered to us open with the burger and bacon (fashioned into a beautiful bacon rose shape) on one side with the pickles, grilled onions, tomato and lettuce (literally) overflowing on the other. For a brief moment, we were at a lost on how we should proceed.

The small but thick patty on a big kaiser leads to a lot of open space between the burger and the ends of the roll which is only accentuated but amount of lettuce and toppings covering it. On the plus side, their meat is easily some of the best and cooked to absolute perfection. Their toppings, used in moderation, are fresh and high quality, and you definitely get your money's worth. Unfortunately, the overkill of toppings and the shape of the patty take the burger down.

Best burgers & fries EVER! Their tomato & bacon soup is also amazing. I would order it every time I go but it ends up being a lot of food. Plus, their fries are impossible to stop eating once they arrive. Tommy, the bartender, is great and so friendly. Definitely sit at the bar if he's working, which he usually is. Pretty sure he's been there since the place opened. The place has a great Irish pub feel and laid back atmosphere - perfect for unwinding after work.

I've been going here with my family since I was a kid and have many fond memories of playing the bowling game they have in the back. I must have spent thousands of dollars in my parents quarters on that thing.

Wow, that was a hell of a burger. Never would have stopped here if not for a friend that has been there before, it looks like a small white house in the woods. Juicy, flavorful, cooked perfectly to my rare request... awesome.

If the patties were a little thinner, it would be much easier to eat the whole burger. But you waste so much falling down on the plate it becomes a real mess after half is gone... just part of the experience.

I took the Family here based on the reviews from Yelp.
The reviews were correct. The food is very good.
I had the Blazer burger and was not disappointed.
The burger reminded me of Jackson Hole Diner in Queens on Astoria Blvd. (Awesome Burgers)

    Fries: Huge portions and unique.
Beef Barley Soup: Homemade and very good.
Chili: Thick and Meaty topped with Cheese, Onions and Sour Cream.
    I highly recommend this place.
    4.5 Stars.

I went here as a kid and loved it growing up. I had very high expectations when I visited it a couple years ago and if anything The Blazer is even better than it was. The Burgers are great and the fries are simply the best. The only negative I can think of is that we live so far away and can't go there every week.

Friendly Friendly staff!!  This place gets crowded, and its kinda small so come early.  Don't bring your vegetarian friends here either.  They will be disappointed that the only thing on the menu to eat for them is a grilled cheese sandwich.  The fries here?  AMAZING!  Never seen a fry quite like these.  I swear one fry is 1/4 of a potato.  Thick and not greasy.  POTATO, not oil.  Beer list plentiful.  I hear the burgers are grreat, and have seen them.  They are as HUGE as you've heard.  My husband tried one, enjoyed it, but couldn't finish.  Bring a burger & beer buddy here. Oh, and stop at the bank.  NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED.   PS  you might pass it if you're not looking hard enough.  Rte22.  Little white house.

A little disappointed with the Blazer burger. Don't get me wrong it was good,   but the hype was over the top. Corn chowder and Creamy tomato soups were excellent. I will try again and next time going for the Chili and another style burger.

Also if you take I684 north to get there, take exit 7, take a right to route 116 and take a right onto route 22 south. Google maps from yelps address and some Navigation systems are unclear.

This is THE burger for northern westchester.  It's got flavor, filled with juice and the fries are steak cut and delicious.  Don't forget about the blazer onion.  It's like a bloomin' onion only not as light.  The celsus burger is a real winner.  I prefer to get it on a hard roll, which is an option they leave to you.  The chili is second to none and I am getting hungry just talking about it right now.  This is one of the things I miss most about the east coast.  Their burgers had gotten smaller over the years but as of late they seem to be back on track.  They still don't take credit cards though, so come with cash, even though you won't need that much of it.  Every single to-go order comes with a glass bottle of heinz 57.
