It grows on you after a while. The thing about the Blue Moon is that the people there get to know you. I'm talking about the people behind the bar as well as the people lounging around the tables or slot machines. It's a cash only place so make sure you go to the ATM before coming inside. There's a jukebox where you can pick out some music and dance in the small area in front of it. Just please respect the other people in the bar; don't pick lame music. That's just cruel. If you're having a night out in downtown Mac and need a place to chill, it's definitely a place you might want to drop in for a while.
Review Source:Been going to the Moon for many years now.The service is always excellent and if you want stick to your ribs American cooking this is the place to go.Simple food but always cooked to perfection ,even their homemade ranch dressing makes the simple salads they serve absolutely delicious. My favorite the gigantic chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and country gravy is incredibly satisfying ..For simple American fare you won't find anyplace better..
Review Source:I was there for "The Gut Fest" week end and had a blast. Robin, the bartender was right on top of it. Charles the cook fixed us the best, fresk meat, hambuger and fries. A great place to meet some of the locals, very friendly. Saturday night of "The Gut Fest, Gary had 3 bartenders and dispite being jam packed, wall to wall, service was great. LOVED IT.
Review Source:Was a cute place to stop into to down a few drinks and sand but they definitely cater to the locals. If you aren't a local expect to get passed over a few times. I do have to give kudos to the cook the day we stopped in.. he gave me something extra even though I didn't want / order fries he gave me some. Was nice to try them. Although didn't want but that was ok since fries were extra
Review Source:The Blue Moon looks like it has been here for a long time Not broken-down looking but definitely weathered a bit. The beer selection is fine, as long as you want a pale lager. They have about a dozen different options in that style, or you can get a Widmer Hefeweizen. I went with the hefe.
Service was a little slow. This was partly because the server was busy chatting up the regulars sitting at the bar. I didn't catch the entire conversation but apparently she and some friends were doing Jaeger shots with some some random soft drink at her place recently because that's all they had to drink.
The Blue Moon offers two steak dinners for $19.95. I was dining alone, so I went with the burger and fries. The hamburger was juicy  and  the fries were crisp. They take only cash, but there is a tiny ATM inside, so you're still OK if you don't have any folding money in your pocket when you walk in.

love this place. Â I usually stay away during sports events, 1st of the month and weekend evenings. Â Instead, this is one of my favorite haunts for a Mon-Thur evening dinner. Â Still undergoing some improvements and renovations.
I almost always get the chicken fried steak. Â Though one time they were out and another time they were out of the sausage gravy. Â Fries are a little soggy at times. Â However, and I'm not being facetious, the iceberg lettuce salad is awesome. Â No wilting and extremely cold and fresh.
You can't beat the surly waitresses. Â Definitely a locals place. Â The marquis outside says 2 steak dinners, $18.95.
I also like the chicken strips with fries.
3 TVs, a juke box, video poker machines will keep you entertained. Â They only take cash. Â But there's an ATM located inside.
