Overpriced.  Average food.  Decent drinks. Weak service.  We had eight people, nothing remarkable.

Great outdoor bar and view of Falmouth harbour.

I've come here multiple times while visiting friends in the Cape. The night scene is actually pretty fun. They used to have a DJ, now just a live band to tame the crowd. The place is pretty spacious with in and outdoor dining/drinking. (strong drinks, always a plus!)

I only ate here once and ordered the affordable stuffed lobster--a bit too much bredding for my liking, I could barely taste the lobster until I dug deep. The parts of the lobster I actually ate were quite tasty though.

Came here to try Blue Point oysters after a dismal oyster experience at Shuckers.  Here the oysters were great and properly served.  We wish we had come here first.

Went here for dinner on a Wednesday night with some friends and children.  While the food was okay but the service was awful.  First we had a total of 7 people and we needed to push two tables together and that was a huge process.  They don't have any draft beers so don't don't ask for any local favorties.  I ordered a salad with my dinner that came out when I was 3/4 done with my meal.  I also ordered fries but got corn instead.  My kids grilled cheese was burnt on one side so badly it had to be sent back,  but besides those issues it wasn't bad.

The Falmouth Boat House did not make a great first impression on me. The line was really long and the bar was way too crowded. About 45 minutes after I finally got inside and found a spot with my friends some kid got the shit kicked out of him and taken away in an ambulance. Then the entire Falmouth police department came into the bar (one with a shotgun) because someone had gotten tired of the line and pulled a gun on the doormen.

Two stars, one for the excellent location the other for excitement factor.

This place is popular and obviously a local hangout.  Service is terrible!  The food is ok - you only go when they have twin lobsters for 9.99 on special (good deal!)  Place gets pretty packed with the 21 - 27 crowd during the summer.

Waiter - Joseph B - You better order everything up front because you aren't going to see much of him and your food will take awhile to get to you as he spends his time talking to everyone else but you.  When your food comes, give him a list of things he's forgotten i.e. your water glass refill, salad dressing for the salad he just delivered, etc., and once those things are delivered he will disappear for about 20 to 30 minutes while he has a smoke break.  Grab whoever you can to get your bill.

Baked Stuffed Quahog - pronounced CO-hog by the locals.  Don't bother.  It tastes like breadcrumbs baked in butter and that's it.

Crab Stuffed Mushrooms - Smothered in mozzarella and the crab filling has too much filler.  You barely taste the crab.

Oysters - Great, but since the chef/cook doesn't do anything to them since they are served raw, there's nothing to rate. Ask for more horseradish as the cocktail sauce is more ketchup than horseradish.

    Steamers - These were awesome.

Lobster - Husband says it was cooked perfectly and it was good.  He liked the corn on the cob as well.

11 dollar lobster special was ok.  Bread was good.  Veggies were NOT good.  Lobster bisque was not so good.  Drinks were small and came with little ice.  Appetizers came one minute before entrees.  Overall sub-par service.  No music for ambiance.  Screaming kid next to us didn't help but fit perfectly with the entire experience.  I will not be giving this establishment another try.

12 dollar lobster and an amazing clam chowder
Stay away from the oysters.  Service is ok and they need to work on that

I was in the Cape with family and we actually went to a restaurant next door, the Raw Bar looking for some fried clams. I guess we should have known from the name that they don't have any fried food. They recommended The Boathouse and even had menus there at the hostess station. We would have never found this place if they had not told us about it. The Boathouse is tucked back in a parking lot at a marina.  The service here was a little slow but in their defense I think their bread and butter is being a bar. The are posters for live music and karaoke and all around the bar are pictures of girls in bikinis. Looks like they must have some bikini contests or something like that at night. Food was actually really good and the lobster roll is huge and loaded with claw meat. It is a little expensive for what you get but no so expensive that it would deter me from going again.

I was with some friends for a bachelorette party in Falmouth, and we started out at the Roo Bar which, if you're familiar with it, has an excellent dining scene and slowly evolves into a really fun yet Cape-upscale young bar.  The bride's patience with the evolution was wearing thin, and a Boston firefighter noticed she was looking a little bored.  When he found out what blue-collar Southeastern MA town the bridal party hailed from, he sent us packing ... and straight to the Boat House.  It was exactly the townie bar we grew up with about an hour away... a little dirty, loud music, sketchy old men, and generally a pretty good time.  If you feel like some college-style slumming, go here.

The Boathouse is like two different places. During the summer until about 10PM it's a nice Cape Cod restaurant. You have tourist couples, families, golfers and boaters at the bar, and a few locals. The bartenders were friendly, one even helped me clean my eye glasses so I could see the TV better.

When more friends arrived we sat down at a table, and it took the waitress a little longer than normal to get to us, but when she did she was nice and apologized for taking so long. I don't like seafood, so I wasn't in the mood for anything more than a basket of fries. My friends seemed to enjoy the fried clams.

So then ten O'clock comes around, and the take out a few tables and the band sets up in the front. As they're setting up most of the nice white haired older couples begin to leave, and they're replaced by a younger crowd. You get a little bit of everyone here. The young 21-22 year olds, the guys like me in their (very late) 20's, some of the couples in their 40's and 50's will even hang around. The bartenders even transform at 10. They go from wearing your standard t-shirts and shorts to the skirts and tank tops. So it really is a whole different place.

If the band is as good as we saw, they'll get that floor literally rocking. When the music is going, and people are dancing you can feel the floor shake. After enough wobbly pops are consumed, a few brave (drunk) girls will get up on the bar and dance. So look more professional than others, but it's still a good show.

The staff here is great, the bouncers are very easy going and let the patrons have fun, but step in when needed. My biggest complaint is the bathroom situation. It's not the cleanest bathroom in the world. Other than that I cant' find anything wrong with it. If you're on the Cape check out the Boat House on a Saturday night.

someone had told us to check out this place because they have $5.99 lobsters... so my hubby and i did. the ambiance is set on the water and has the cape shack vibe. that's about it. the only good thing. you've got all sorts of clientele from family groups to older couples. I assure this place gets quiet busy in the summer... why? no idea! the food sucks! it's frozen food! we got the "casino clams" and i spent a good 10 mintues trying to look for the damn clams... word is the clams never made it out of the freezer. you're left eating stuffing! and with a price tag of $12 for 4! even with $5.99 lobsters I'll pass on the chewy rubbery lobsters.i also got a side of baked potato. what a mess! they can't even get that right! the very small potato looked liked it went way overcooked, it was wrinkled and dried out!  what a rip off and what a shame! NO stars for this place!!!! maybe they should hire real "cooks" and get real food instead of hiring a bunch of teenagers and shopping in the frozen food isle. I'd rather slit my wrist and gag myself then eat here again. AVOID!

Located on the inlet off of Falmouth Harbor this is a great place to saunter in to during the day to hang, enjoy the weather, the view and some steamers.

We went to "The Raw Bar" although advertised as though they're two different places, "The Boathouse" is the name of  a 'restaurant'  which looks like a bar and serves food, it's contiguous to a large deck; "The Raw Bar".

We skipped the restaurant because it looked like the site of a hard core bar scene that was empty during the day.  I bet it's a great place to go if you wanted to have many drinks after a day of motor boating.  Judging by the obvious dismay of our waitress when we just never did "(would you like to) order another drink" even after she was kind enough repeatedly offer to get us more this place is definitely set up to cater to drinkers.

When you're on the Cape, you pass ten restaurants on the way to your restaurant.  The place is entirely saturated with excellent places to get lobster (while wearing shorts), steak (while wearing a full suit) and martinis and burgers (while wearing your best "going out" clothes).  Choices are abundant in Cape Cod, and because of that, it pains me greatly when I choose wrong.

The Boathouse sits on Falmouth's inner harbor, along a quiet stretch of road that also houses docking facilities and at least one superior restaurant.  I went with a number of other people, and we opted to sit outside, which proved to be a mistake.  The "outside seating area" was a poorly lit, sloping stretch of crushed shells and rocks that was apparently very easy to forget about for the waitstaff.

After we put in and received our drink order, we weren't looked in on for a half hour.  Potato skins, a caesar salad and a cup of clam chowder do not take a half hour to prepare.  Eventually, they were delivered, along with a word of warning that our order was pretty well backed up in the kitchen.  That's usually code for "I forgot to put the order in."  The Boathouse is a big place.  One would expect a big and adequately staffed kitchen.  The salad was overdressed, though I heard praise about the skins and chowder.

The main courses were delivered while still somewhat warm, and about 70% accurate.  A couple of the side dishes were goofed up, though replacements were sent out.  My dish (a chicken piccata) had capers, despite the fact that shallots were what the menu noted.  I ate it without complaining, since I was hungry and the chicken part of the dish was prepared properly.

We left after paying a couple dollars too much for each individual thing we ordered.  I gain some small satisfaction from hoping that those who read this make a wiser choice than I did.

So I went to this place to see and hear the band "Syndicate"  on a Saturday night this past July (they play at the Boat House typically on Saturday nights) and ordered a Mai Ti--oh my, will someone please send that girl bartender back to Bar tending School.   TI am not sure what type of concoction she made me but it was a disaster.  (Guess I've become a mixed drink snob since living in San Francisco).  I recommend sticking to beer, or a drink the bartenders don't have to mix...

Clientele was the typical "college" and "native" crowd, very casual and beach/golf attire.  More people starting showing up around 11ish, but overall it didn't get real crowded.   Music was fantastic (Syndicate puts on a good show and I loved all the music they played). Definitely not my bar scene, but I would go back if Syndicate was playing again.
