We had to wait over an hour for a bunch of burgers and a few salads. After waiting about 45 minutes the server informed us that one of our dishes was not in stock and we had to order another. The server did not come back with drinks for 20 minutes and in the end didn't split the bill between two families as she had been told to do. Issues with both the wait staff and kitchen mixing orders up. Would never eat here again.
Review Source:We ate there on 5-26-12. The restaurant was not packed at all, 3 families including us. It took almost 1 hour to get our food, some of our order was messed up. The food was great but service was awful. It was a Very clean restaurant. I ordered the unlimited soup and salad. They gave me 1 bowl of soup and disappeared. My salad took 1 hr before they served it to me. When everyone got their food is when I got my salad by that time I shared my soup with everyone at the table who was starving waiting on their food. The waitress wasn't even coming to our table to see if we needed refills or if I wanted more soup or salad and they were def NOT understaffed or busy by any means (they had at least 7 people just standing around chatting). Would not go back there, the food was really good but wasn't worth the poor service. Why even have unlimited soup n salad on the menu?!
Review Source:I hate breakfast. Â I hate breakfast time and I hate breakfast foods. Â I even hate most people that go to breakfast. Â
Breakfast at Bob Evans, however, pulls me out of that funk every time (well, except for that time I was extremely hungover from the previous day's wine trail events...but that's a different story). Â Every time I come to Michigan City, I HAVE to visit Bob Evans for breakfast. Â We've always had great service and great food. Â The biscuits and sausage gravy are so freaking good. Â I also always get the Border Scramble which is basically a Mexican omelet with Bob Evans' chili on top. Â The home fries are bomb too. Â The few times that I have also gotten dessert here (yes, with my breakfast) it has been awesome. Â AWESOME, I tell you! Â Â
The only complaint my husband has is the bacon is not thick enough, but he says that about everywhere. Â I guess I am also not a huge fan of the coffee, but I am a coffee snob so I overlook it.
I gotta say this was a horrible experience. Â They did not have good service, we had to wait forever for refills, we waited 25 mins for our food. Â We even had to get the manager and she was like oh that waitress and then went to check our food and did not come back to follow up with us but did push our food out after the long delay. Â I literally was going to get up and leave. Â The only shining light was the really nice hostess/cashier. Â She did a great job, everyone else is a pass.
Tried the new fried green tomatoes, not that great. Â
Cheese balls (i forget the name) those were good.
Stroganoff was decent
Burger was ok
farmer's choice meal (with bacon and strawberry covered french toast was great
Homstead meal (sausage or bacon (i got sausage), 2 eggs (i chose scrambled), and hash browns were decent. Â Under seasoned though. Â I must say the sausage was good though.
When I asked what size my orange juice was, she was like large, i always get large unless someone asks. Â Thanks for asking me what size i wanted, luckily i wanted large...
Oh Bob Evans, you were such a staple of my childhood! Â Dad and I stopped in quick (it was this, Chili's, or Denny's...) on our way through, and it wasn't what I remembered. Â I feel like they should be investigated for violating child labor laws, our server was probably about 13. Â We had classic breakfast plates, they were slow to arrive and when they did she forgot half of it. Â Sausage was cold in the middle, didn't get microwaved all the way.
Alas, my memories of dining here as a child have faded.
My favorite breakfast place in the MC. Â Can get pretty crowded as I don't think anyone in this state actually cooks for themselves at home. Â That's puzzling because we always have a hard time finding really good eats in town. Â So let me know if I'm missing something. Â Breakfast here is the usual omelettes, skillets, pancakes and waffles with some lighter options as well. Â A great place for a quick brekkie fix.
