Bogartz Food and Spirits

I've been coming here since it was Captains Too and it's many different iterations since then.  Bogartz by far is the best this location has been especially since they trimmed down the menu.  Since the menu was trimmed down (some time ago) it seems they are concentrating on producing fewer menu offerings but making them the best they can be.

I'll start with my list of likes:
The service is consistently outstanding.  The wait staff is very friendly and engaging.  Leslie, the owner does a marvelous job of recruiting, training, and retaining a great wait staff.

The food is consistent and fantastic.  A few of my favorites are the bistro steaks, balsamic glazed salmon, pizza, the Bogartz burger, and all the specialty salads.

There is great value for the price and quality of the food.  The specialty salads are $7.95 and are fresher and better than most salads you pay $11.95 to $14.00 in other places.  You will be hard pressed to find the quality and portion for the same buck elsewhere.

Good selection of beers and huge martinis for $7.50.

The atmosphere is relaxed, casual, and kid friendly.

Now for the dislikes...........NONE!

This place is a fabulous little gem!
It is very nice inside! It is a very casual and laid back place. The people running the joint are doing a wonderful job and the wait staff are awesome!
Pizza = A++!
Plus, I love Casablanca so the decor is appealing!

Service is excellent, the atmosphere is pleasant and very laid back. I have eaten here a few times I thought I had already reviewed it...shame on me! So my memory of everything I've had is not as good as it should be. I will say some things are a little hit or miss. I'll start with the postive...the Bistro Steaks are my favorite. I actually crave them and have had them several times. Last time I was craving a good burger I decided to try it there...AMAZING! I am not really a bar burger kind of person only because I think I make such good burgers at home they are hard to beat. My only complaint (if you can call that!) is that it was so tall I had a hard time eating it. Both the steaks and the burger were cooked perfectly (medium rare.) This is something I am very particular about and many places miss the mark on this one. On one visit I had the spinach salad and french onion soup, both were delicious. Tasted my husband's chili and pizza, both also very good. All of these things I would order again. Things I would not order again....I was not as impressed with others with the Sea Cheese bake. I thought it was very greasy and bland. Also did not like the Pub Pickles. I appreciate that they do a different spin on things...you can tell everything is homemade which is the absolute best part about the place. But when I think of fried pickles I do have something I am generally expecting and this wasn't it. They didn't taste bad, there just wasn't much to them. They were thinly sliced pickles in a very light tempura-like batter. The salad dressings here are very good. Overall this is one of my favorites I will go to again and again and will eventually try everything on the menu. I would recommend Bogartz to anyone.
