Bordeaux Wine Bar

A large group of us went to Bordeaux last night to watch a family friend do three hours on the piano. We got there around 7:30 or so, and the crowd was sparse, but it picked up by nine or so.

First, the place is incredibly classy and attractive inside, even if the layout is a little odd. The bar has a marble top, and the lighting is what you'd expect for a wine bar.  When you walk in from Sunrise (it also has a back entrance from the parking lot), there is the half-wraparound bar in the middle of the room, a small counter with seats on the left, and booths on the right. Because we were there to see the piano player, we planted right in the front of the bar, which is oddly shaped, sort of like a lowercase 'r'.

Some of our group got wine from the extensive (duh) wine list, while others opted for beer (very limited choices) or mixed drinks. The bartender gave us three plates of complimentary bread and olives, which were good, but really, can you mess that up? The tapas menu looked delicious, and judging by what I saw other groups ordering, it was.

Everything was fairly expensive, and I think the only reason they put up with our large group dominating the bar is because we were racking up a nice tab and watching the piano player. I'm generally not, but if you're in to wine bars and live music, I'd have to recommend Bordeaux.

P.S. On the front and back doors were signs stating Gentleman....25, Ladies....23. Obviously they aren't looking for the younger RVC crowd, which is fine with me.
