My friends and I were walking around downtown Torrance. After dining and drinking at Tortilla Cantina. we passed by Bo's Cigar and decided to try one.
I've bought Cigars before at fine establishments like 7-eleven and Rite Aid. But something wasn't right. So I needed some help picking out a cigar. The guy who helped me, I'm assuming Bo, reminds me of a Al Gore and Jack Nicholson cross. He basically looked like a boss. He walked me through and picked out a cigar for me--The aromatic, rich, and boss-status Via Havana.
The Via Havana was a game changer for me. Bo showed me how to cut the cigar: "right above the shoulders." Bo also showed me how to light the cigar properly and explained why I shouldn't use butane lighters. Although, I have already forgotten why, I enjoyed the cigar and went back a couple days later for another one.
Great place for first timers. I'll be back again.
I have read a few of the reviews. I disagree with two of them. Case in point, Tim D and techknow you couldn't be more wrong. I have been a member of this establishment since the day it opened. I was a young cat with now knowledge of cigars and I was received with welcoming arms.  Bo took the time to explain all the different types and flavors and all the complexities involved in becoming acquainted with a cigar. He took his time even though he had a full house.  I never once felt like an outcast or uncomfortable. He is a very knowledgeable and kind man.  Dissertation  aside, I have enjoy the many people I have met here. You can always count on good conversation and many laughs when you hang out at Bo's. I implore you both to give it another try or perhaps it could have been you and the way that you may have carried yourself, who knows. For me this is the place I go to relax and watch some sports after a hard days work I truly enjoy my time here!
Review Source:Today I had an hour or so to spend relaxing before a meeting I had to attend. I had heard about Bo's. I had read about Bo's, so I felt like now was a good time to visit. As a neophyte cigar smoker, I was a bit intimidated by the thought of just popping in, but believe me, once I met Bo, my mind was set at ease.
Bo introduced me to the San Lotano Cubano. Wow! I enjoyed sitting in the lounge, reading the biography, "Bonhoeffer", pausing a bit to watch the big screen TV and just plain enjoying myself.
The San Lutano was so good I had to get another one to go.
Bo and a friend were so kind and open that I know this will not be my last visit. Once a month I have an afternoon free, and I am pretty sure I know where I will spend it!
I highly recommend a visit to Bo's!
