They're getting better. We normally come and eat in the bar and use the coupons from the mail. We can watch TV, and if the kids are noisy, oh well. Service is always touch and go here. I do hate getting my food while we're eating our appetizers or soups/salads. We actually had a wait in between so that was good. We didn't get bread off the bat so we asked for some to keep my 2-year-old occupied. It was pretty hard so we didn't ask for seconds. Dinner was average and we took food home as we always do when ordering the Camp Fire Feast.
I will say that their bathrooms are very dated, don't vent well, and most often than not stink. Thank goodness my nose was stuffed, but I could still smell an unclean stench regardless.
Decided to treat myself on the 4th of July and since I never had a fillet mignon before, figured it was good a day as any (since with my weird schedule I missed out on 4th of July BBQs).
I had the fillet with bleu cheese and mushroom, with a side of the garlic mashed potatoes and parmesan broccoli, paired with a Stoneridge merlot. Â I'm not a wine snob, but at least know enough that red wine + red meat = yummy. Â In hindsight, I should have gone with the bacon-wrapped fillet as I had the two-fer of cheeses. Â Fillet was tender, medium rare and delicious, but didn't care that the side of broccoli only consisted of three florets (weaksauce). Â I usually never order dessert, but I figured "what the hell" and had that Mountain Cake....so tasty and delish.
Couple other small points that dropped 'em a star: having one of those fruit gnats hovering over my wine and a group in the next booth that were dropping F-bombs and swearing up a storm. Â Yes, I ate in their Bull's Eye bar (so I got to see the end of that 14 inning Mets game), so that's my bad.
Something I won't do but once a year or for really special occasions, but overall a great meal. Â Total was $41.14, sans tip (thanks Colleen!)
