This is the CHEERS of Wantagh. Â The bartenders (Kevin especially) make you feel like you are family here. Â If you are a wing fan then Crokers is a must visit and there is not a bar on the East Coast that has a steak tidbit that is even close to the ones you will find here! Â
Perfect place for an afternoon of drinking and games or easily a relaxed night out.
This is a really cool bar to go to. Â The bartenders are super friendly and the food is great. Â If you like buffalo wings, this is the place to get them. Â They are crispy and the sauce is excellent. Â If you dont like wings the burgers are awesome. Â The place is also surpringly cheap for the area. This place is a very laid back chill bar, never even seen a fight in the place.
If you wanna hang somewhere without too much drama, try this place.
In the competitive bar-filled area of Wantagh, Long Island, lies a bar not known to many.
Me: "You know, Boss Crokers..."
You: "Hmm, never heard of it."
Me: "The Place Down the Road from Mulcahey's"
You: "Ohhh ok, I know where that is!"
With the majority of restaurants and new developments failing, this traditional pub needed to find its edge against their opposing business rivals... and they did just that. Boss Crokers has overly competitive prices on not only their food specials, but drinks as well. On top of that, they have two of the most well-known bartenders in the entire neighborhood - Lee & Olly.
Quickest recommendations I can give for going to this place:
Don't expect a wild night - this is simply a "chill" spot with FEW girls (for all you horny bastards out there). Down your sorrows in affordable grub and great drinks.
Bring those dolla dolla bills for the jukebox (if they still call it that) - If there isn't a game on, it's up to the public to keep the party rockin'... or just make sure it's not dead silent in there.
Leave your attitude at home. Again, this is a fun, relaxing spot... nobody wants a drunk idiot throwing a tantrum in the middle of the bar because his life sucks.
Tell the bartender you heard about this place through Food 'n' Festivities! Lee, Olly, and the rest of the gang are sure to take care of you!

Seriously this place seems to be timeless...stopped back here a few weeks ago and wings were even better than last time...if that's possible! Â Burger was good also, prices are surprisingly low, and still holds that comfortable pub atmosphere you need with the tourist trap Mulcahy's up the block. Â
There are a few other pubs noteworthy of praise within a few blocks also, but this one is low key yet again I can't use this word enough "Comfortable".
This has been my local fall back bar or (when dating) "meet the friends" bar for about 8 years or so. They have some of the best food (I suggest any of the four items-Turkey burger, steak tidbits, wings and grilled chicken salad), there are always buy backs and the majority of the bartenders are from Ireland so hello??? Sexy accents galore! (the one from England has the best though tehe)
This past Wednesday was one of those "why is Mangina running so rampid" Girls night my best and I have been having lately. We made our regular stop to the Leaky and then decided we needed pizza, but not before a quick drink at Crokers (as the locals call it). After saying my hellos and catching up with my bartending buddy I quickly realized it was 10cent wing night. "I have a dollar" I thought to myself with a smile and in no time I was downing wings in one bite smothered in hot sauce. *Yay*
I would give it 5 stars but the crowd is llllaaaaamemmmme. Lots of kids when college is out and/or beer pong loving jock/frat guys (and the chicks that love em) that are still reminiscing about their High School glory days.
Oh yeah, that's what I'm talking about.
Great neighborhood bar, used to be my bar for years before I moved. The bartenders are awesome guys and the buybacks are GREAT. It was kinda an unwritten rule that if you bought 2 drinks you'd get 1 free. I wouldn't call it a dive, but I guess some people define a bar that doesn't have dance music BLASTING and only serves coors light a dive. If you want a chill bar that plays hard rock with great brews and cool people, go there.
Review Source:The bartender was a hilarious old man that poked fun at everyone in the bar. After reading the reviews here for the wings, I took the 5 minute drive to try it out. Definitely very good sauce. The only problem was that they were overcooked and too crispy so the sauce just sat on the bottom of the plate and none of the wing got any of it. They were also quite tiny. My girlfriend and I were in awe of the $6.50 price tag, but after seeing how hungry we still were after an order, it made sense. Try the potato skins, those were quite good.
Review Source:If you went to MacArthur then you are already going to Crokers. Â It really doesn't matter what day of the week or what time you go, you are bound to run into someone that you went to high school with here. Â And the reason why? Â Because Crokers is a really great local bar. Â The bar food that they serve is really good for bar food (the wings are AMAZING) and the drinks are nice and cheap. Â The bartenders are the best and even though the place gets packed you don't have to wait all that long for a drink. Â I love the dart boards, naked lady photo hunt and the online jukebox so I can listen to my Modest Mouse, Franz Ferdinand and The Killers.
Review Source:WINGS & BEER!
Wednesday nights they have 10 cent wings and $2.25 pints of Miller and Coors. Â The only downside is the place is PACKED. Â They do have a seating area with about 10 or so tables, but if you want to sit (either at a table or at the bar), I would suggest getting there early, around 8/8:30. Â
They have a full bar, and besides wings, they serve your typical bar food. Â The bartenders are awesome, really down to earth nice guys - they remember everyone and even if they dont, they are really good at pretending they do! Â They are definitely not on the expensive side at all, and they are really good with buy backs - and totally take care of their regulars.
The bar has two dart boards, a video game (deer hunting or something like that, obviously I have never played haha - but people always are) and they have the PHOTO HUNT machine!!! They also have an online juke-box.
They usually have specials during home team games (Yankees, Mets etc)
Fun, local place to meet up with new and old friends for drinks any night of the week.
