Yup, I was goin' to a cowboy bar, and I'm Native (well y'know they say Indians make the best cowboys!).
My friends were in a Western mood. Â Western dancin', that is. Â And I had to oblige. Â I've walked by (and ignored) The Branding Iron for years, but I finally made it to this ole saloon. Â
I was taken aback by how big and crowded the joint was. Â You see, we went on a Friday and there was a band. Â Now, I have ZERO line dancin' skills and can't Texas two step for the life me, but my friends were here, so I went to play cheerleader.
First things first---off to the bar. Â The bar was surprisingly small, but you have all you need back here. Â They have all your country libations: Â Bud, Miller, and Coors, of course. Â I just had to get something different--luckily they had a Long Hammer IPA on tap. Â Boom. Â So, after a short wait in line I was good.
Then it was off to absorb the music and merriment. Â My friends danced a few times. Â I played wall flower and watched them dance as well as all the other people. Â The band played about 65% country and 35% rock. Â It was nice watchin' some old timers boot scoot their ladies around. Â But, mostly there were lots of baseball capped jocks and normals out there (I thought the country fad faded! Â Wasn't that back in the '90s?? Â Oh, we ARE in the Tri-Cities though!)
All in all, this was a decent night out. Â If you want to change things up for a night out, this is definitely an option.
))) Â And, in case you were wondering: Â NO. Â I didn't get to get into a fight! Â Oh well. Â Next time! Â (((
The wedding party from my wedding came here last summer and had a pretty good time. We were a little out of place but didn't feel to unwelcome, if you didn't know this is a country western bar that has live music and line dancing. The best thing about this place by far was 1$ beers on Thursday nights.
Someone ordered a pizza which was not bad, and someone else ordered shots which were not bad either. All in all I had a pretty good time here, probably because I was drunk and with all of my best friends. The bartender was kind of rude but she was an ugly old ho anyway so I cant blame her for being mad about it.
