Brix Wine Bar

Pleasantly nice bar. Cuisine is heavily French-inspired. Nice ambiance. The waitstaff is friendly & knowledgeable.

I've tried to inform Yelp but this place is closed. The people at Thistle n Mirth told us the owners tried a different concept around August (I think) which didn't work so the restaurant is now completely closed.

My gal pals and I LOVE to come here after yoga for a few drinks and some apps or even a meal.

To say that I adore french food would be a huge understatement. It's hands down one of my favorite cuisines, a cuisine that I not only prepare in my home but avidly search for when eating out.

Brix is GOOD, and not just good for Pittsfield but good in that it would do quite well plopped in any cosmopolitan city.

The owner is interested and involved in his business, and loves to hear feedback and ideas from customers. He can always be found in-house, chatting with regulars and meeting new diners.

For the appetizers, I absolutely adore the authentic Montreal-style poutine (gravy covered fries with cheese curds), but the pate plate is also phenomenal and sumptuous.

They have an amazing selection of wine but if wine isn't your thing, their bartender can mix you up something special (I love a custom drink they make for me with chocolate bitters that tastes a bit like a grown up chocolate covered cherry, YUM!).

The main courses are absolutely lovely, the croque madame is a personal favorite but they rotate in and out plenty of others, like cassoulets and roasted duck. Desserts are typically rustic but flavorful and tasty.

As far as atmosphere goes I personally think Brix is one of the most romantic ambiances in Pittsfield. It's moody and dark without being overwhelming and still isn't "romance-oriented" enough to make it awkward to just enjoy a meal or drinks with friends.
