The Colonial Theatre

Great acoustics.  Beautiful theater.  Wonderfully restored.

But, whatever you do, do not get seats in the gallery (third level).  It is like sitting in a pew with a straight back.  Painful.  The other levels are fine.

A great performance space with a wide variety of shows throughout the year. Its small enough that you can't really get a bad seat here.

A small theatre that was just recently refurbished with all the charming, ornate details you'd hope for.  Tickets aren't the cheapest, but I suppose they have to make some money given the size of the place.  Only 700 or so seats total, which means an intimate feel and good view of the show wherever you're seated.  A major bonus -- it offers more leg room than any other theatre I've been in.
