Fun place to grab a beer and listen to local bands.

We also had dinner there -- their meatloaf and mashed pots were to die for -- flavorful, juicy -- great comfort food.  Top it off with a Smithwicks on draft and you have a perfect meal!

I had a quick lunch as I had read about the place in the PB Post and it sounded interesting. I had the warm corned beef sandwich and cole slaw for $10 and a beer. It was a Wednesday and they did a steady stream of diners. I thought the place was ok. In order to give 4 stars I would have had to be impressed by the flavors, wait staff and portion but all of these things were acceptable, not outstanding.

Went here Friday night after Christmas, waiting for a concert at Bamboo Room.   It wasn't super crowded but my buddy and I waited 15 minutes and no one took our drink order.  Then, when I went to the bar, they bungled the two drinks terribly.  The manager was very nice and she offered to comp our next order but time was too close for the show.  Probably wont go back.

Best Fish and Chips in South Florida.
Fresh flaky cod in beer batter and hunky fries.
Sure it's a bit scruffy but it's supposed to be.
The strip steak was a little over cooked so I suggest you aim a little raw when ordering.
Good service from a pleasant young lady and we enjoyed the solo steel band.

If you want to enjoy a lukewarm half and half (Harp and Guinness) from an oft broken barstool (probably over someones head the night before), then Brogues is the place for ya.
I've been there many times over the last few years and grade it thusly:

    Food: D
    Service: C-
Beer: A (unless you like it chilled, in a clean glass)
Whisky: A (you'll pay for those shots though)
Prices: D. (come on, a couple of warm beers and a half frozen piece of whitefish is 40 bucks?)
Atmosphere: C+. Grab a table outside, light up a cigar to go with your Jameson's and observe (or interact with...) the usual parade of Lake Worth weirdos! (the last time I was there, some drunk English whacko basically tried to mug me. Haha! All in good fun, "Mate"!)

Popular place with live music. Rather frenetic. Nice traditional pub decor. Food was good however the staff seemed a bit unfamiliar with the register when placing our order and totaling our bill. The kitchen was open late, serving the full menu past 10:30pm.

Went there with a group of friends on a recent weeknight.  When you walk in the place is beautifully appointed.  Nice comfortable seating, big tables, tasteful decorations.  I was very impressed.  Our table ordered a wide variety of food from soups, to appetizers, fish and chips, sandwiches.  All were good.  One problem I had was that I ordered an ice tea, which they charge $2.00 for.  When the waitress came back, for what I thought was a refill, she took the glass away and asked if we wanted to close out our checks.  Then the music started.  It was LOUD.  Once the music started the staff seemed to lose interest in serving anything but alcohol.  And there were a lot of drunks.  One drunk even asked our friends, 85 year old mother to dance.  As far as these places go I guess it is better then average.  But this is not my cup of tea and neither I, or my friends will be back.

We tried this place even though it had mixed reviews.  I ordered the shepherds pie and my wife had the fish and chips.  Both were excellent!!   We will be back! Sitting outside was a bit warm, but it was a nice evening.  Had a few Strongbows which topped off dinner.  Great place!

Finally got a chance to dine here and I have to say I was unimpressed!
Now not to sound uber picky but there are so many spelling mistakes on this menu it is downright distracting, don't get me wrong I am no spelling bee champ however....

    Baget is Baguette

    Soupe doesn't have an e

Provolone is repeatedly spelled pavlone cheese, I actually had to clarify this one

rick Indian spice  .... rich perhaps??

Now this goes on and on those are just the few I remember off the top of my head. All of these mistakes are very easily cleared up with spell check, so why make such a lackadaisical first impression on your dinners?

If the food had been palatable I probably would have let this go, but the taste and quality of the food is really shown through the menu preparation, lazy and tasteless.

I had the Dublin Dip sandwich recommended by the waitress as "the best thing on the menu", immediately upon presentation my dining companion and I wondered aloud, "where's the meat?" I had to shuffle it around on my plate in order to get a decent bite out of the sandwich and even then it was downright tasteless.

My companion had the fish and chips, probably frozen cbi food, nothing seemed fresh or authentic, the "homemade caper dill tarter" that was described to us was nothing more than mayo with B & G relish

I was looking for a place to grab a beer and food following a visit to the Stonzek Studio Theatre, and this place was my choice.

It was a glorious Sunday afternoon and there were a lot of folks dining outside in the cafe portion, and a few inside at the bar, which is where I set up camp.

Shannon was my bartender. She had a good personality, and was fun, but seemed perplexed at times. She accommodated me just fine, so I have no complaints.

I ordered Yuenglings, which is a beer that never seems to let me down. Yuenglings was included in the 2-for-1 happy hour specials, which is cool for a Sunday.

I also ordered a Dublin Dip (think French Dip, but with an Irish twist). It was accompanied by a cup of au jus, and steak fries. Very tasty.

During my visit, I played several songs on the juke box, including a Celtic song for good measure. We're talking Van Morrison, Jimmy Buffet interspersed with Frankie and Deano.

There were all kinds of sports being shown on the TVs, including NBA, Golf and MMA.

I liked this place, and will definitely bring others back. I liked the vibe, the British Pub decor, the food, the Sunday 2-for-1 special and the overall festive mood.

Went on Dec 22'nd with while visiting my daughter.  The service was adequate, the food was very good.  The price for all the meals is very good for a family to go there.  I would recommend that you keep on top of the waiter as he was very slow with the drinks.  My son and i had the corned beef sandwich, My wife and oldest daughter had the dip sandwich, and my oldest daughters boyfriend and youngest daughter had the hot chicken sandwich.  They are all delicious and worth the price.  Go if you are in the area.

They have done it again.  We had my husband's birthday party here last night and it was great.  The banshee room was reserved for us and the turnout was a success.  It was a fantastic night that consisted of a private room, a dj (which we are responsible for), our own bartender, and a dance floor for anybody that wanted to dance.  There was colorful and laser lights going on all over the place.  We were very happy and we recommend anybody to have a party here.  Great memories were made from our family and friends that came out.  Of course, the patron didn't help out the birthday boy too much in the next morning.

    Food - 3*
    Live Music - 3.5*
    Service - 3*

I like Brogues. The bands are sometimes not that great and if you're sober, it matters. Great environement otherwise. Good food. I need to go again!

Drinks were unimpressive. Service was shabby. At least the location will put you close to great nightlife and choice people-watching.

Downtown Lake Worth is usually lively, I went on a stormy holiday evening that kept most people away. Less customers at the bar means I should get attentive, friendly service yes? Negative, I waited each time I ordered a round and getting my check meant having to wait for the barkeep to finish up his make-out session. Spread that holiday cheer!!

If the beer selection was stellar and the cocktails had been poured with a bit more care it would warrant more stars. The reality is their "imported beer selection" is mainly InBev products (no thanks) and I could barely discern the blueberry stoli in my drinkie: try harder. At least prices are do-able and there was absolutely no rush for our little group to catch up for a couple hours.

Personally, I'd rather go to the pizza joint down the street and sip Yuengling beer at the counter, but if you need a spot to rally your buds before a night on the avenue this is an easy to find spot to have a starting drink then head out. FYI- the smoke from the sidewalk tables wafts in when the windows are open. If you dig second-hand smoke, sit there.

"Club" Brogues was once a good Irish bar. This place has really gone downhill. As for their food, I've had better TV dinners. What a waste of a great space. This place has tremendous potential to be a great Irish bar, but it fails on all counts. The bartenders are inattentive and rude. Do they not realize we (the customer) are the ones paying their bills? Try keeping the back bar open all the time, start acting like an Irish pub, be decent to your patrons and bring your food quality up and this place could be good.

This place gets really crowded on weekends. However, it's huge! There's a lot of good seating. Don't come here for the food, though. I was dissapointed. Decent selection of beers. There's limited outdoor seating, and it's usually occupied. There's always a band playing here on weekends, and this can be great or annoying depending on your taste in music. If you love classic rock cover bands, then you'll probably dig it.

Unfortunately, Brogues has gone a bit downhill over the last couple of months.  The Guinness is not as good as it was and I got food poisoning off the bangers and mash one night :(

While I've yet to visit Ireland, I have visited many Irish pubs all over the country and Brogues is definitely one of my favorites!

I've been going to Brogues since they first opened. Before I could legally drink I used to frequent the place for their awesome food. Try their fish and chips! I turned 21 and made sure to stop by for some drinks and had a wonderful time. The bartenders are always attentive and hospitable.

For quite a few years I lived within walking distance to Brogues and was thankful for that on the nights that I would get caught up in the atmosphere and find myself having had a few too many drinks. The place can get packed at night and the crowd is always fun.

On nice days you should try to get a seat outside and enjoy the charm of downtown Lake Worth while having some beers and delicious Irish cuisine!

Ah, I remember when Brogues opened in 2003 or so.  It gave my favorite bar, South Shore(s?), some good competition (though S.S. never had much of a crowd going for it compared to the throngs at Brogues--who knows what's up with it now?)

Good beer, fun Irish pub environment (which feels genuine enough), and--best of all--another local business to help improve the charming Lake Worth area, which really does have so much going for it.

Overall Brogues is a fun place to hang out. The food is very good. The decor is nice with lots of beautiful dark woods and various Irish paraphenallia. Live acts are often great and if they suck you can usually go outside and avoid it. The exception to that of course is when they have a single guy in the front window. The back room is where they have bands and is the second best Lake Worth venue. The first (South Shore) doesn't get any where near as many good bands though. Of course these are all local acts as neither place has much capacity.

My only major complaint is that drinking here is expensive and getting a seat outside can be a real pain.

I was surprised to find this corned on Lake Avenue and K Street in quiet Lake Worth. I went to Brogues on one Sunday night for couple of drinks - they have good selection of beers and couple of ciders - I had Magners for the first time in my life (I think) and loved it. I came back few days later to get something to eat (confess - followed CitySearch ratings) and found a fun, intriguing and (apparently) genuine Irish menu. Unfortunately they didn't have the beef cooked with Guinness which I first spotted on the menu, but the lamb "soup" and the chicken curry where very yummy.
