Great if you enjoy flies. Health department needs to inspect; I think I will call Monday. Here's the website for anyone else with complaints: <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gachd.org%2Fcounties%2Fcoastal_health_district.php&s=920e9735c43391e47611453909bb9a165df9db88d42b72c8805f2d0bb5c6e866" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.gachd.org/cou…</a>
FYI when their flies land in your $10 drink they will not replace it or take it off your tab. I was told it was my last sips and it was returned to me to drink with the fly still in it. CLASSY JOINT!
Went with high hopes. Location is beautiful; however, I felt like I was in Shoney's. Waited almost 10 minutes to order drinks. Once everything was ordered, though, food was out quickly. Huge portions of ok food. For the price, I expected better. Think I will stick to Sunbury Crab Company or try Pelican Point next time.
Review Source:If I had a last meal request, it would be at the Bucaneer Club!!!
Great Seafood, Fresh Daily, The Best Fried Shrimp on the planet. Reasonable Prices and Very Large Servings.
My Father in Law says if your within 350 miles it where you should eat.
I discovered this place over 20 years ago on a Duck hunting trip to Altamaha WMA. We hunted 3 days and we ate at the Bucaneer Club all 3 days. Every time I'm in the area, I try to eat there.
Hope you too enjoy it as much as I do.
Delicious, fresh seafood in a casual setting. We all had various combinations of shrimp, oysters, scallops, & fish....all fried. One in our party also got a steak & it came out med-rare, just as he ordered it. Breading on the seafood was light, and nothing was overcooked or greasy, which tells me they know how to fry properly. I am an oyster snob & these were small & sweet, with NO grit. We will definitely go back when we are in the area. Menu was a bit pricey, in my opinion, but platters were heaping. Frankly, I would rather have paid a bit less for a smaller portion, and it would be a great addition to the menu to provide this option. Bar drinks were good too. We asked for a window seat to enjoy the sunset over the salt marsh, which was beautiful!
Review Source:The Buccaneer offers a wide variety of seafood. Â My favorite dish is the shrimp plate. Â They have crab legs, steaks, chicken fingers, hush-puppies (yummy), deviled crab, the list goes on and on. Â
They usually fill your plate full of whatever it is you order. Â
At the Buccaneer you have to ring the doorbell then the hostess will let you in. The Buccaneer is located deep in McIntosh County. Â I would advise making reservations, especially if you have a large party. Â Even after you're seated it could still take some time for your food to be brought to the table. Â If you are in a hurry this is not the place to eat. Â
The view at the Buccaneer is BEAUTIFUL. Â They have large windows throughout the restaurant so everyone can enjoy the view. Â If you are lucky you will see some of their peacocks running around outside. Â They even let you go out on their dock to get a closeup view of the river. Â They have a full bar and some video games to amuse the kiddies.
