First time we've eaten hear although we've been to Saint Simons many times. The oysters were delicious and very fresh. We had steamed, oysters redfern and oysters parm. All were fresh and great. We also tried the seafood dip and again it didn't disappoint. We had a big lunch so just did appetizers on this trip. The places is very casual and the wait staff were very nice and attentive. The bar seemed very busy and they were supposed to have live music but the rain cancelled it unfortunately. My only complaint and the only reason I didn't give 5 stars was when we asked for extra bread for the dip, they brought but didn't tell us it was an extra charge. May seem picky but if they had given us two more pieces with the original order it wouldn't have been necessary. I would tell customers there was am extra charge and better yet not do it at all.
Review Source:Great food! We went here while on vacation and the food was excellent. The seafood dip appetizer and bread were fantastic. I had sweet potato fries which were the best I have ever eaten. My husband had shrimp and grits that was creamy and had plenty large shrimp cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend!
Review Source:The best soup I've probably ever had! Â Ok, I'm not a native to this area, so crab stew is new to me, but this was creamy, crabby wonderfulness in this crab stew. Â Not coming from around here, I thought it was more a soup than a stew as it had no potatoes or veggies, just cream, crab & tons of flavor! Â Amazing $5.99 price too (I'd pay double for it - it's easily that good).
The rest of the menu looked great too, especially the crab legs, but I just had the soup. Â Totally worth the drive over from Highway 95 on my way from FL to Savannah! Â I tried a few more crab stews from different restaurants in Savannah, but none matched the flavor and perfect texture as our first bowls at Catch 228! Â
Yum, can I get the recipe?
