The Buckhorn

So I realized my first review was somewhat harsh. I'd like to amend the first review by saying that the Buckhorn is a fantastic day bar but a HORRENDOUS nightlife destination. The clientele drawn in by the nightlife activities is of a lower caliber. The day crowd is warm and friendly and the bartenders always have a smile on their faces. So my advice is to go for an afternoon beer but get out before 9.

5 stars for the taxidermy;
4 stars for the drink prices and the speed of refills;
3 stars for being open at 1 AM on a weeknight (some other bars were closed)
2 stars for the cleanliness of the restrooms;
1 star for the crowd (Tuesday must've been douche night...most of the crowd seemed barely old enough to drink and unable to hold their liquor.)

If you're only going to hit one bar in Laramie, this is probably your best stop.  It's an icon.  And there's a bullet hole in the mirrored bar, and a tall tale or two to go with it.

It's also on the Register of National Historic Places if such things interest you.

VERDICT: A must-try watering hole in Laramie.

The Buck is a Laramie must...  enjoy the history....

but it's also a trashy, disgusting joint late on a Fri/Sat.  and has likely the nastiest bathroom in Laradise...  

Go Upstairs to "the parlor" at your own risk....  i've seen some gnarly shiot up there :p
