I've been going to College Station a lot lately and going to BWW has become a tradition with one of my buddies. I'll just start out by saying that I disagree with other reviewers on here and I'd say that this location is pretty consistent with other locations.
That being said, for those of you that haven't been here and like wings, BWW is a good choice as long as you aren't on a diet. Pretty much everything I've ever had here is fried, and, in my opinion, it's all pretty good. I mean c'mon, it's fried and covered in sauce. It's basically what you'd expect, which is delicious. The atmosphere is what you'd expect from a sports bar type place, lots of giant TVs. I've always had good service and the food never takes too long.
Honestly I don't really go to other wing places so I don't really know how it compares, but the wings with sauces on them typically have a lot of sauce on them and I know not everyone likes that. My personal favorite is buffalo dry rub but almost all the flavors I've tried are pretty good and the ones that aren't are still decent. Asian zing or whatever is also good.
FOOD:
  SAUCES
Asian Zing:  The spiciness from the chili pepper mixed nicely w/ the sweetness of the sauce.  Love it.
Honey BBQ: Good sauce w/ a nice sweetness to it.
Jammin Jalapeno: Quite tasty, w/ nice heat from jalapenos, tartness from the lime & some sweetness to it. Indeed sweet heat. i like.
Parmesan garlic:  Strong garlic plus a tad bit too cheesy aftertaste makes this an average flavor.
Spicy garlic:  Somewhat spicy w/ a sour & garlicky taste to it.  Nice to try but not something I'd get again.
Sweet BBQ:  As the name implies, traditional sweet BBQ, w/ some hints of tanginess.  Good safe choice.
  SEASONING
Chipotle BBQ:  Spicy seasoning w/ a slight sweet taste.  Pretty good, but I'd personally stick w/ sauces.
Fries:  These crispy fries were very tasty, esp w/ the salt & vinegar seasoning that they used to make it slightly tart.
Dessert Nachos ($7.99):  Imagine deep fried cheesecake bites (good, not too sweet), crispy sopapillas w/ sprinkled cinnamon & scoops of vanilla ice cream on top.  Yeah, a bit too much for a dessert = I won't get it again.
TIPS:
1. Â Tuesdays: Â Traditional & boneless wings for 60 cents
2. Â Thursdays: Â Boneless wings for 60 cents

Let me start off by saying I love BW3s as a franchise. Â Some of my best memories are catching NBA playoff games in the booths and listening to the see-saw of cheers and boos emitted by each side of the room. Â I watched the Mavs-Heat series game 2 at a Dallas location, and when the Mavs mounted a huge comeback to win the game, the place literally exploded. Â I love the mix of the family environment and the straight-out-of-sitcom bar feeling, and the food is pretty dang good too. Â The variety and overall quality of food put out by all Wild Wings establishments are spectacular, and from past experiences, I hold the franchise to an understandably high standard.
That being said, if you are wanting to try BW3s for your first time, avoid the University location at ALL COSTS. Â In no way is this restaurant an accurate representation of the great franchise that has built a steady following for so many years. Â One of the best things about the Wild Wings restaurants is their seemingly endless wall of big screen TVs, all of which display a variety of sports events. Â However, upon my visit to this location, three of the screens were shut off, and when I asked the staff if they could turn them on, they responded by saying they needed to have a certain capacity to have all the TVs on. Â I was completely taken aback, for we were seated in a location where there were no TVs in easy view for us (we came during March Madness pretty early in the afternoon, so the restaurant was almost empty, but if you are going to shut some of the TVs off, at least seat us where we can see one that is on). Â Our waiter was obviously a veteran who quickly took our drink orders and food orders without having to write anything down, but the slow day must have gotten to him because he messed up a couple of our drinks pretty badly. Â He was apologetic and offered to comp us the cost of the drinks, so I didn't worry too much about it. Â However, no number of apologies could have forgiven the restaurant for what happened next: the cooking staff had completely and utterly massacred the food. Â We had ordered nachos as an appetizer, but they came out cold at the same time as our wings so we were sitting hungry for about 20 minutes. Â Both of our fries orders were soggy. Â Worst of all, however, was the quality of the wings. Â My friend ordered boneless Mango Habanero wings, a pretty spicy flavor, but when she took her first bite, it became apparent that it was far, far spicier than she was accustomed to. Â She couldn't even taste the tangy sweetness that usually goes along with the flavor's spiciness, which was a huge disappointment to her. Â She left half of her food uneaten. Â For my order, I had the Honey BBQ wings traditional style. Â The wings were a good temperature, but each bite, although crunchy, had a burnt aftertaste, and the sauce contained so much BBQ that it overwhelmed the other sauce's undertones. As petty as these criticisms may be, they are real issues I had with this location partly because I love these restaurants so much. Â I can only imagine how many first time eaters have had their BW3s impression completely ruined because of the lackluster quality displayed by this restaurant. Â Perhaps the worst part of this entire experience, however, came at the end: a couple sitting next to us told the wait staff their food was unsatisfactory, that they would pay the bill with tip, but that they would never be back again. Â The faulty service I can forgive. Â I can even look past the poor quality of food. Â But by being so poor in quality so as to destroy the franchise's image in the eyes of its customers, this location has earned a firm and non-negotiable seal of utter disapproval in my book. Â Do not eat here, save your money, and go experience the wonder of Buffalo Wild Wings at a location that truly embraces its foundation, not one that lackadaisically goes through the motions. Â
(**As a side note, I gave a 2 star rating because I couldn't bring myself to rate the restaurant 1 star. Â I love the franchise too much. Â But please know that if I could give this location no stars, I would. Â It was that bad.**)
I've been to these all over the country, and it's no better or worse than any other I've been to. Â Good tap beer selection, the liquor is mildly stocked, the garlic parm mushrooms are always a must for me, tv's to watch the game, and wireless access. Â Here on business and 2 blocks from my hotel.. perfect. Â Ending everyday with a Guinness and shot of Jameson.
Review Source:"Meh. I've experienced better." Perfect description for rating this place.
Drinks are overpriced, I agree with the PP that the wings are generally too sweet. I prefer the Garlic Parmesan and Caribbean Jerk. The Teriyaki had WAY too much soy sauce in it, and their standard mild buffalo sauce is not flavorful enough. We wish they had lemon pepper wings!!! If you want to go somewhere for wings, go to Wing Stop or Wings N More, but BWW is convenient for late night meals (they are open until 2 on weekends), and although it is LOUD, the big screens are great to watch the game on.
College Station needs a Plucker's.
p.s. Watch out for the ginormous pothole in their parking lot!
We have visited this one three times and will likely go back just due to it's convenient location for us. Â Our favorites are the Garlic Parmesan, and most recently they added a new one that is not only their main menu yet, Chipotle! Â Woo hoo, that one is the best for my liking and I re-ordered more. Â
They have a good variety of beer on draft, even a Belgian Wheat, but they are not quite serving it properly. Â It comes with a slice of orange, which is exactly correct, the way it is supposed to be drank. Â But the slice of orange is a thin round slice that you can not squeeze due to it's shape (see picture). Â Â I asked if I could have a "Wedge" of orange so that I could squeeze it with my fingers, and was told no, because all of the oranges are machine sliced in the morning. Â Â Â
Now that may seem trivial, but if I pay $6 for a beer, especially a Belgian Ale that you are supposed to squeeze fresh orange wedges into, yet they are not offering a wedge only a slice that is for decoration only (wasted), I think that's a valid complaint. Â That's why this gets a 2 star for "I've had better" instead of a 3 for just "Okay".
They also sell their own corn syrup based sauces by the bottle here. Â
Thousands of dollars worth of flat panel TV monitors all over the place, the majority of which have the wrong aspect ratio making everyone on TV look wide and fat. Â Â
While we have only been there during afternoons, this does look like a good place to hang out and drink beer during a game. Â Wings always come out piping hot and fast.
I have loved every other BW3 joint I've been to, and I've been to most in the Houston area. But it is absolutely ridiculous when YOU HAVE TO SHOUT AT THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU TO HAVE A CONVERSATION. TURN THE MUSIC DOWN ALREADY!
For real. Never mind the person at the other end of the table.
I find the wings tasty. I really like the Carribean Jerk. And I like getting my hands too messy to drink my beer. Makes me feel like a real carnivore.
I am a bit of a wing aficionado, so when a co-worker ordered Buffalo Wild Wings carryout I jumped in. I got a sampler plate with several of their flavors. None of them were very spicy, and most of them were too sweet. Burger joints sell better wings. I realize its more about atmosphere, being a particular sort of sportsbar- a P.G. rated version of Hooters. Strange how with that name, and the diminished emphasis (not absent, though I'm told) on hotties as servers and waitresses as compared with Hooters, that I find B.W.W. is not apparently as much about wings, either.
