First time at this Wing chain and it was a deal breaker. The Parmesan Garlic wings are neither garlic or Parmesan. Instead, they are smothered in Wishbone or Kraft Creamy Italian salad dressing!!!! They were disgusting and barely lukewarm on an off peak Sunday at lunch hour.
The meat tastes frozen and thawed and our food took 30 minutes for only 24 wings of salad dressing! Our waiter was mediocre at best and the bar high top stools have no backs and the tables barely fit 2 plates of wings.
Save yourself the hassle and go to Sliders for real, non-dressing wings!
I went here for lunch with my coworkers and we all ordered the bottomless boneless wings. Â We were having a pretty good time and didn't notice or mind that our first order of wings took 40 minutes to get to the table. Â After finishing these we ordered another round that didn't show for another 30 minutes. Â At this point we were annoyed but after waiting for so long we had regained our appetite and dug in. Â We disregarded the long wait and politely ordered another round of 4 wings only to be told by the waiter that he had to check with his manager and ensure that it was alright. Â We were a little perplexed by this but didn't really pay any mind to it until the manager angrily marched out and demanded to know what was going on. Â We explained that we were not sure what was going on and that we were just waiting for our wings. Â The manager then proceeded to harass and demean everyone at our table for five precious minutes and sarcastically asked "WHAT DO YOU WANT THEN?" and "HOW LONG SHOULD I KEEP THE PROMOTION GOING?!" and "WHAT TIME WOULD YOU LIKE THE ENDLESS WINGS TO END?!?!". Â We were blown away with the brashness of his behaviour and stated that we just wanted what we were paying for. Â He brought us another order of wings and a check. Â That was the last we saw of him.
I would never revisit this restaurant after being treated like a burden. Â Everyone I was with fely disrespected and demeaned. Â Do not go to this buffalo wild wings. Â There is nothing good to be had here. Â Drive to Danbury or New Haven and get some real service.
This is my first review of this particular location. I have always like Buffalo Wild Wings and have never had a bad experience. But in CT the wing competition is pretty fierce as opposed to let's say, San Antonio. Out here you have the likes of J. Timothy's and Sliders, whom have .. wings of freakishly big chernobyl chickens. Now my boyfriend had stated many times how he hates Buffalo Wild Wings and it turns out he had been brainwashed by his buddies, as he himself had never been. I know! What??. Boys are so easily turned..lol. Anyway, he decided to give it a try, his only insistence was that they were well done. Reason being, his friends had a flabby wing experience here..So we ordered the following Extra Crispy Salt & Vinegar, Habanero & Spicy Garlic. Â Verdict? He could not understand why his friends bashed this place so hard. He thought they were pretty damn good and would definitely be back.
No as I stated before J Timothys and Sliders have some unusually plump chicken wings. J Timothys doesn't offer a lot of variety however. Sliders, offers a lot of variety but unfortunately they lack on the follow through of flavor. BWW have decent sized wings and their flavor is outstanding. Salt & Vinegar dry rub and the Mango Habanero are my personal favorites.
Oh btw for all you sports nuts.. there are TVs EVERYWHERE and they'll give you a sound box to put at your table (kinda like a drive in) so you can hear what's going on.. pretty cool.
The actual restaurant was pretty cool. A lot of TVs playing every sport channel you can imagine. The service was alright but the food took a long time to come out, even when there wasnt much we ordered. The food that was actually made to order was really good and my burger was delicious. On the other hand, the appetizer was pretty bad- obviously frozen and just heated up. The nachos were clearly made with cheese wiz. If you're looking for a quick place to eat, go for it, but I definitely wouldn't suggest this for a family or anything more than a sports team victory dinner.
Review Source:This is my second yelp review ever. I feel compelled to write after visiting this restaurant for the very first time this evening. The food was great  (the screamin' nacho burger was phenomenal) and our server (Kelly) was awesome!! We went with some friends and their very spirited 6 year old and Kelly handled it all like a champ! The whole experience was positive and I know I will definitely be going back again. I'm kinda pissed we haven't checked this place out sooner!!
Review Source:Now, I will start off by saying I have been to this particular restaurant a couple of times. I could count on two hands, so not that many considering some of the other places I frequently go. I have been right after grand opening, a couple weeks after, months, etc. My rating stays the same. Every time I've been here, our drinks have taken way long to come out. To me, that's ok if we have water on the table like some restaurants do. But when I have nothing and I feel like I'm going to die, I can't handle that. Anyways, the food is always good. I mostly stick with the wings, especially the parmesan garlic. The only gripe I have about these is the fact that sometimes when you get an order, you will get either HUGE wings (I only order boneless if that helps) or very small ones, or a little of both. I'm usually full off one order of the 6 (or 8 I forget exactly what they offer) The first time I ever went there I ordered one of their "flatbreads" and I ended up going hungry because I wouldn't eat it. It was soggy in some places but then hard in others and they put WAY to much seasoning on it so it was unbearable for me to eat. I ended up giving it to my boyfriend, who then in turn felt bad because I didn't get to eat, and he ordered super hot wings so I wasn't going to eat those either. That was my first experience but I always try to give people second chances and since then it's been ok. The cons are the drink wait is definitely trecherous. It takes a long time to get those, even when it's non alcoholic. Also, it's WAY TO LOUD in there. If you are trying to go with friends and have a decent conversation, this isn't the place for you. I almost always leave with a headache and don't even think about going there when the games are on. People are screaming their heads off as if they are at the game. The waitresses/waiters are always VERY friendly and I love the front hostesses. I've been there twice now where people were giving them a hard time about wait times and I would chime in and mock the people and they would laugh and let me go ahead and get seated (see? Being nice in an odd way does work in your favor sometimes, especially with people that handle when your seated and with people that handle your food). If they fix the volume of the place and the drink wait time, this place would definitely get a 4 star out of me.
Review Source:My husband loves B-dubs, so we were thrilled that one was opening locally. Â This particular one is horrible. Â They don't have a good craft beer selection like the one in Danbury, and it is so loud that it is painful to dine there. Â I'm talking insta-headache just for walking in the door. The first time we went, they were out of all drink mixers, so you couldn't get a mixed drink. Â They also had some manager running around telling everyone not to order the wings because it will take too long.
After trying to dine there once or twice, we decided to only order take-out. Â However, the food hasn't even been up to normal chain restaurant standards. Â One time they only drizzled sauce on the wings. Â The last time, they were so overcooked it was like trying to gnaw on cardboard. Â I will likely avoid this one in the future. Â The other ones in the state are much better.
Took 10 minutes for a server to come ask us what we want to drink... I'm like in thirsty as hail, this should've been first thing right away. Btw the place was fairly EMPTY!_ where were you server? Filing ur nails :( .. no really did u? Slow service I'm telling you I can imagine when it is jammed packed Smh. The manager came and apologized over and over... Which was considerate of him... But geez I was ready to go grab my own food from the back. Gosh, total fail... Disappointed. Hope u guys at BwW read this reviews are very important for a restaurant. Improve... Plz... Improve!!
Review Source:I did not feel like this BWW has their shit together. And don't get me wrong, you take unhealthy premature chicken parts  Deep fry it. Toss that dozen in some crazy sauce ... I'm game, but the servers were clueless and this was 2 months after they opened. If you are going to hire 19 1/2 year olds that mess up your order twice they should at least be hot. The celery was good. The buffalo blue is defiantly Mayo based :(
Review Source:This place is a joke I've been to other bww and enjoyed myself the food took forever they got my daughters burger wrong when we clearly asked for no cheese on it then we had to wait another 15-20 min for a new one while me and my wife were done with our food. im not sure if the waitress was having trouble hearing us  but if she was the bozo of a manager should consider turning down the volume on the surround sound on the nfl games I'm just overall disappointed
Review Source:I'm a self-professed non-chain person, despite having worked for several of them (and still working for one...). Â That said, i believe there are chains that can produce the quintessential, intended consistent experience. Â Buffalo wild wings (bww from now on) is a place that has incredible potential, and does absolutely nothing to capitalize on it.
There were tvs a-plenty and a good variety of draft beers. Â Bartender (whose name i won't mention here) could have used a serious jolt of personality. Â She basically had nothing to offer, the epitome of an order taker. Â I got the spinach-artichoke dip, which was severely disappointing. Â The dip was clearly microwaved and served in the same DISPOSABLE container. Â NOT worth $8, in my opinion.
I wanted to try wings (or anything with sauce), but i was soooo disappointed with the spin dip that i didn't dare waste another dollar. Â I made acquaintance with a fellow bar guest whose wings were puny and sad-looking enough to help send me elsewhere.
This place has tvs aplenty, but the service and food don't match. Â I would definitely not come back.
Meh. That pretty much sums it up for me. The food is okay but there are better choices around. I had the boneless wings in the Spicy Garlic and Medium Buffalo sauces. The sauces were pretty good but the chicken was a bit dry and tough.
On the other hand, the Cherry Limeade for a drink and OMG was that good! It was a delicious concoction albeit a very sugary one that fortunately came with free refills.
The menu has the calories listed for each item and in some cases it was absolutely shocking. It's not like I was eating here because I thought it was health food but it was truly shocking to see what each item has for calories.
Overall, I'd prefer to stick with other independent restaurants when craving a spicy chicken wing but I wouldn't turn down a social gathering here. Just know what you are getting into, it's not the best chicken wing you'll ever have but it's not terrible.
Been there twice and dissapointed entirely with the food. Â The wings are bland, obviously frozen, and the sauces are just terrible. Â It is cheap, mass produced food. Â Nothing else really to say except that a real wing place will clean up in Waterbury. Â Until that day comes, I would rather eat wings from Dominos.
Review Source:Had to stop in to the new location for dinner today. I've had pretty good experiences at other locations, and I wanted to see how they transformed the old Hometown Buffet at the Brass Mill Mall in Waterbury. The wings rocked, I love that you can get them however you want them without anyone raising an eyebrow. For example, I ordered 18 wings, split between three different flavors (buffalo dry-rub, garlic-parmesan, and the new jammin' jalepeno). I also requested that they all be "drumettes," like I like, and cooked extra-crispy, which I prefer; No Problem! The service wasn't super-fast, but I think that is because it's designed to let you suck down a few beers first, plus the extra-crispy takes a few extra minutes. Four stars for a nearly-perfect wing eating experience. I might have given five stars if I had gone on a Tuesday, when the wings are half-priced!
Review Source:So this just opened about 15 mins away from me and I was a bit excited since i haven't been to one since I lived in FL.
So with any new place that opens it's bound to be more than busy...which of course when i went it was. Very busy. I didn't have to wait long but on my way out I saw that the wait was about an hour.
The decor is sports bar...duh. TV's galore. Can't go to any part of that place without seeing a TV. Watched a game and some espn with the wife in front of the massive screen over the bar.
The food is good not the best food ever but good. The selection of wings is fantastic. A wide selection of beer on tap.
The staff was good, my waitress was very nice and always kept our drinks full.
The bad side of my experience to this one comes with a new restaurant...the food was slow to come out. Now I understand that th people who work there are still trying to get in the loop of things but for now it's slow, Im sure it will pick up very soon.
Other than that very nice place to hang, get drinks, watch TV, and get a beer. It's very casual so the bar can be for anyone if you don't like going to random bars throughout town.
Go there and have fun ^_^
Buffalo Wild Wings is a relative scarcity in this area - the closest established locations before this were Danbury and Milford.
I went at 2pm on a Sunday and ate at the bar. They had the Yankees game on the huge screen behind the bar, so I can't particularly complain. They've barely been open a week, so the service is a little slow, but once they figure out their groove, they ought to be fine.
I had the rib and wing combo, which seemed a little small at first, but I was pretty pleasantly full after scarfing it. The ribs were good enough to tide me over until next week when I go to South Carolina where I can have my Dad's, which are obviously the best ever. The honey BBQ sauce they do them with is really good and has a little kick to it, which is nice. I had the carribean jerk sauce on my wings, which is decieving. It seems mild-y medium at first bite, but a few wings in it burns. It also was really good though! Also, props on the fries being really crispy. Soggy mush fries suck!
I was a little mad they were out of Blue Moon as it's one of the few beers I like, but Shocktop was an acceptable alternate.
I can't wait to go back and try out all the different sauces!
4:55pm
Me: hi. I'm calling to see what the wait time is for a table for two.
Girl: oh there's no wait. We're getting people in and out pretty quick.
Me: sounds fantastic. Thank you!
In the 5 minutes it took to get from the area near Walmart to B-Dubs (I'm from Chicago), the wait time went up ten minutes. Ok, no harm no foul. I was a little upset because that was the reason I called and such, but whatever, it was happy hour so I was cool. I got my buzzer and waited in the little area with my girlfriend. After ten minutes we were still waiting, with two other couples, each of whom got buzzed for tables, almost simultaneously. I got back up and politely told  four girls at the desk. Apparently my user wasn't turned on. However, seeing that I was in "I will make you cry" mode, they immediately sat us. Now I've never worked as a waiter, but the general knowledge of a wait time is that there are no tables. This did not apply in this situation, as there were at list ten open tables when we sat down, which the coup,e we sat next two noticed too.
Then came Rob. Rob (Bobby by my gf) was a very confused individual. He was there as soon as we sat. He asked If it was our first time, and then asked for our drink choices and if we wanted appetizers: my gf got a cranberry and vodka, and I got a tall Dos Equis (beer). Not all that difficult to make, and yet it was at least 15 minutes before we got them. We also got an order of mushrooms, but I'll get to that later.
So, we order our food; 18 wings with "wild" sauce, which is the second hottest. Rob thought we said mild, which is ok since it was kinda loud, but we reiterated the WILD sauce. Oh yea, still no drinks at this time. So we start chatting between ourselves and the couples on either side of us. Another 10 or so minutes go by and we are still quite parched. I managed to catch eyes with our dear bobby, but he pretty much ignored me and walked off. More time goes by. A runner brings over a tray of food to us but it was not ours....then another, this time with a mojito (which takes ten times longer to make than a vodka-cran). So ob finally brings us our drinks (thank god were not in the desert or anything). So we continue our talking, while another runner brings us the wrong order, at which point I was ready to take it and call it a night. Finally, at a quarter to 6pm, we get our wings.
And we eat....
And eat...
And eat...
Now I've had the hottest wings possible. They make you wish for a less painful death, so the second HOTTEST should at least break you into a good sweat. Nope. Nothing. Don't get me wrong, the wings were fantastic, but they were just under hot at best. We suspected he brought us the mild anyway, but didn't want to bother about going through this ordeal any longer, so we just at them and consulted the bill after.
Oh did I mention that our appetizers, which typically come before the meal, came WITH the freakin wings? Yea, that happened. We finished our meal, got another round of drinks, and got out of there around 7:15...remember, the wait time should have been non existent, and yet we spent 2:07 from start to finish.
So I'm sure you're wondering what my rating is after all of this...
I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was the grand opening (yes, it took me two days to write this). But, the fact still remains that the staff desperately needs to be retrained or reorganized. I remember one girl complaining to the manager that one of the waiters took tables from her area for a group so she had no tables to serve. As I said early, I have no training with open table restaurants, Â but I do have management experience, and I would never allow my staff to run around in such a way. A lot of the girls were clearly there just to look cute and had no idea or didn't care about providing good customer service.
The atmosphere was exactly how bdubs should be. Back home it's definitely the go to place if you want to relax and watch five different sports with good food. Â So I give them a 3 for now. I think they have potential. They just need to trim the fat, work out the kinks, and really train the staff. Otherwise, I see them flopping before the summers over.
Newly opened and I'm soooo loving it! (Same plaza as yucky Chili's.) Had the Honey BBQ wings with a side salad. I had BWW in Florida for the first time and was so excited when it came to Waterbury. I'm glad that I was able to have such a good experience. Ya know when you have something in another state on vacation, and then it comes to your own hometown and it stinks? I'll have to admit, I was afraid this was going to happen, but they proved me wrong! Take out is amazing! Very nice staff, quality of the food was amazing. I can't wait to come here to see the next sports event!
