We came up to Margaretville for the weekend and stopped in Bun for an afternoon snack. I had the chicken tenders and my hubby has the turkey club. Both orders were good and came out quickly with large portions. We also really liked the curly fries. We will definitely stop ere agin the next time we are in the neighborhood ;)
Review Source:Stopped here traveling through the catskills just last week. This place was simply fantastic. Got nachos for the appetizer which were amazing, you wouldn't expect nachos to be this good at a place like this either. For the main course I had chicken quesadillas which were also great. To top it off i had a red velvet cake cone and it was some of the best ice-cream I've had in a while. Â Low prices, friendly service and clean bathrooms would stop here again.
Review Source:Just what you'd expect from a hometown burger/cone joint. Quick service, low prices and fried everything. The only thing I did not like was the quick draw lottery TVs inside. I expect them in a bar, but in a family friendly restaurant it was a bit of a turnoff. I didn't like my 8 year old watching it.
Review Source:They have a nice selection of "diner" food done well. Great value for the meals, especially breakfasts. And all in all friendly welcoming service. If you're looking for cheap, quick, good tasting food up in the catskills bun n' cone is always a good option. You can also call ahead and order for take out if you're in a rush. I can't speak for the ice cream because I'm lactose intolerant but they're food is damn tasty.
Review Source:SO excited to review the Bun 'N Cone. Â This diner was around before I was born, and it is still going strong! Â Its even open until 9 or 10 in the summer for ice-cream, when every other business is closed. Â The food is average, like any greasy spoon. Â Nevertheless, 5 stars for the flair, personality and overall awesomeness the Bun N' Cone brings to Margaretville- the town just wouldn't be the same without it.
Review Source:Every time we visit family here my husband & I always stop at Bun 'N Cone. The burgers are always cooked medium, but other than that they're decent. Where they shine are their magnificent skinny fries and yummy zesty curly fries. The milkshakes are delicious!
I appreciate the nod towards the diner culture with the 1950s & Marilyn Monroe retro  decor, which makes it wonderfully over-the-top tacky. The service is always fast and friendly, the establishment run down but spotlessly clean, and they always open at 7 am, even if it's MLK day and they just got 2 inches of snow. :)
Plus they'll serve burgers and fries at 7 am too, which is always appreciated.
This place was a saving grace for me and my friends last Labor Day weekend after the atmosphere at two other local establishments proved a bit hostile to our kind. Though the Bun N Cone was closing, a very sweet waitress was kind enough to wrassle up some burgers, fries, and shakes even though the kitchen was *this* close to closing and her family was waiting on her to leave. She was nothing other than sweet, friendly, and extremely helpful, making us feel at ease and very grateful. I wish I remembered her name! Waitress, I will forever have a spot spot in my heart for you and the Bun N Cone!
(It's worth mentioning that the food was great too).
I love this little place. Again, I seriously haven't been up there in probably 7 years, and probably will never make it up there again, but the food is little  diner/mom-&-pop shop good. The basics: burgers, fries, ice cream, etc.
It's an adorable little place. Â And really, with a name like Bun 'N Cone? You know what you're getting, and you can't go wrong.
