Small hole in the wall Irish pub good for late night. They're open 3pm-2am. Burk's Tavern is friendly and fun with an affinity toward Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey. It is a proud and popular bar with the locals who just want to drink and maybe take in a game on the TV. It has 4-5 seats at the actual bar located at the back of the building and a few tables and chairs on the way to sit with a few friends. I imagine how fun this place could be on special Irish holidays. When I was there I ran into a pre-wedding get together. This couple seemed to know exactly what was going on and the place was having so much fun I nearly got caught up in their celebration!  This can be a fun place but has a limited selection of beers. Though you'll probably still find one that suits you, especially if you're looking for a chaser. Don't ask for a Black-and-Tan though because there is no Bass here nor anything that will remind you of the English. Sláinte!

Burk's might be a bit small, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in a great staff! It's always a comfortable scene and great prices.

Whenever we are in town on a weekend night we always stop (and usually stay) at Burks! Guaranteed to see a familiar face whenever we come here and we are always treated very well by the staff!! Also the only bar in Loveland that was open on Xmas day!

How sad that there is no more Jonathan. I still enjoy coming here but it's just not the same now. Oh and the prices went up which makes it even more depressing.

Burks is the place to go to wind down and get away.  A relaxed, easy going getaway.  The "Cheers" of Loveland.  Low priced drinks, and good company.  Weeknights are nice and quiet, weekends are hopping.  Ladies night on Thursdays.  Daily specials.  Stop in and say hello to Brandon or Jonny.  I may be there to say hello also.  Laters!

I love this place.  Low-key, bartenders who are also your friend, and they serve my favorite whiskey-- Tullamore Dew.  Actually, they were the ones who made me aware that I liked whiskey in the first place.  This place is a blast!  Jonathon and Brandon are the epitome of neighborhood bartenders.

Downtown Loveland can be described with one word: SCIZOPHRENIC. I am 100% serious.

    Example:

I walked downtown for dinner and drinks one evening out of my poorly lit neighborhood over the train tracks and stopped to take a peak down 4th St and what do I see; not much.  The Aims college building's awning is lit up but empty, the Sports Station's parking lot is full but it sounds quiet since it's too cool to eat outside and some of the buildings seem just sad. Wait, did a tumble weed just blow by and I swear I just heard a wolf howl!
It's quiet, cool and nearly no one is on the street or side walks and it's a FRIDAY NIGHT! What's going on? Did I not get the evacuation notice because I was drinking beer in the tub in the basement before I left? I continued on to see what I could find. After doing a full patrol of downtown I ended up almost back where I started when I discovered a new bar: Burke's Tavern.

Every place down town was empty this night including this place except for the bartender and his two friends sitting at the bar. This place is small and actually used to be a place called Jazz Alley. I ordered a beer and after making some friendly small talk I sat down near the door and zoned out on a tv near by while the juke box played random selections. A few people floated in and I downed a few more beers then decide to play DJ on the Juke. Behold the greatest Juke box on the planet!

This thing is hooked up to the internet and can down load any slice of music you can think of! After feeding it bills and then sliding my credit card I had selected my favorite play list. Also, if you are too impatient you can pay a little more cash to jump a head with your selection! When I was done I turned around to my beer to see that the place had started filling up. I looked at my watch to see that it was getting late and I was kind of surprised. Loveland doesn't have too much going on at night.

After having a few more beers and socializing with a few people I got the message quick. This place is a slow starter and the bulk of its customers are late night shift workers and bartenders themselves from the downtown bars that close early. This bar stays open later than all the others and everyone who wants to blow of there steam from everyone blowing there steam off on them come here.

Most of the people were wait staff and some of the others were night shift workers from IBM an a few other random places. So, if its last call and everything is shutting down head to Burke's because that is where everyone will be in an hour after counting the till, mopping the floor and locking the door and if you beat them you can DJ for the whole place until close.
