Went here for a show for up and coming rap artists had a great time I got the cheese quesadillas which were good. The bartenders and waitresses were excellent! The waitresses kept coming around to see if we needed anything and if we were ok. It was a decent crowd and overall I had a good time!
Review Source:I HAD to write this review,
I was just here this passed weekend with a group of friends, and well lets just say i will probably not be going back to "dead" Buzz Bomb. We got here around 10:30pm (yeah i little early but it is what it is) There was a $10 cover which was a surprise to me since last time we were here it was also a $10 cover but there was a boxing fight going on so i figured $10 for a PPV fight and free pizza not bad. This time it was the $10 cover just get in, which in all is not too bad, other places are $20 cover so we payed it. We get in only to find out we were literally the first group to arrive. We were the only group in there from 10:30 till 12:30am or so.
Place was completly dead till about 12:30am or so even then the place was still dead, maybe 30-40 people (including staff) no one was dancing. place is going to die out soon i would expect.
Only reason why i gave it a star is for their pizza which was pretty good for a bar.
Like i said i probably will never go back here again, unless there is a PPV fight going on, then people actually come to this place.
PS. service sucks also, waitress was so bad i had to walk to the bar to get my beer refilled. (remember we are the only group here)
Stay away.
Ok so my friend keeps talking about this buzz bomb place and we decide to go one night.. we live in the city but I usually keep my party downtown but I thought I would give it a try. Shouldnt of wasted my time! There were tacky dressed ppl everywhere. Not too diverse mostly hispanic suburbanites and it looked like a giant car garage inside the floor the ceiling even the bar. They served drinks in PLASTIC cups and had really dirty tables like no one ever comes around to clean them. The bathroom, didnt even make it all the way in. The music was ok.but then they played too much like mexican music that sounds all the same to me..but i guess it goes w the hispanic crowd u know..so anyway if ur NOT hispanic like things CLEAN and your drinks served in a GLASS this is not the place for u. sorry .had to warn everyone
Review Source:Buzz bomb? Dayum! They should call it Nuclear Drunken Bomb.
My band is getting back together and performing various gigs in the upcoming months.
We came here thanks to the Front-man, to celebrate the reunion. Well, since this place turns into a nightclub they have a dress code (I dressed casual, but they let me slide) mainly no hats, no baggy clothes and no gym shoes.
There's a $10 cover, it's not bad since it's located in a suburb. However, the drink prices are fair; I guess that makes up for the cover price.
At first this place seemed kinda dead, but once the cold buckets of beers & mixed drinks (2 mixed drinks for the price of one, compared to average clubs in the city) keep on coming, you'll realized the place gets packed. With lively "Buzz" crowds dancing the "Buzz-off" to house & top-40 hottest hits.
In addition, I heard this place is mostly famous for their pizza & wings.
It was St. Patrick's Day, when the band and I came here therefore; they had their waitresses & staff dressed in green. There was free face/body painting going around, and they had nude-body painted models at the center stage, club goers had the chance to take as many pictures as they wanted (I know I did!)
I previously came here and made reservations ahead of http://time.it turns out they never even made them! To top it all off the place was full of fights randomly breaking out, and it turns out there are no drink specials at all! I really don't understand how they could give this place four stars! Overall, this place sucks! if you want to have a small gathering with friends I definitely wouldn't recommend coming here for a good night.
Review Source:I've only been here twice and left for other venues before the place got really full. Â
Overall, fits my needs. Â Saturday night 2 for $5 drafts. Â Food is good. Â You can move to the music, even some old school thrown in (Percolator, anyone?)
Mixed age crowd. Â More a local scene. Â Not likely to catch hipsters here.
They have plenty of TVs to catch Chicago sports, too.
I'm biased b/c I'm making a habit of heading there after Chicago Fire games with other supporters, so I'm going to have a good time regardless.
As I spend more time here, I'll be able to update and post more.
