Calhoun's

Went the Sunday before Memorial Day 2013 to sit on the deck and listen to music (Tiki bar portion of the restaurant).  My previous experiences were in the 4-star range for this location of Calhoun's, which is the only reason I'm giving a 3-star rating this time rather than the 1-star it deserved (my best attempt to give a fair average score).

We sat ungreeted for about ten minutes before someone stopped to get our drink order.  Five more minutes passed before we got those drinks and she went to look for whoever our server was supposed to be.  Five or ten more minutes passed and she ended up coming back to take our order herself.  Luckily, the food was out in a reasonable amount of time (we were STARVING by this point).  Food was great, thankfully, even thought the deck has a limited menu.  But we practically had to send the search team out to find our server to take our money so we could leave.  

While the two neighboring tables received (and complained about) the same poor service, the manager never bothered to apologize (even though he delivered our food).  I felt bad for the poor server.  She was obviously the only staff member "working" that night.

Food and service slipping in recent years. Ribs were cold and service was slow, probably the reason for the cold ribs. Was pretty empty when we arrived but got too busy for the staff and we were left to fend for ourselves.

Always enjoy eating here.  We sat in the lounge and could see the boats coming in and out. Loved it. Great service and good prices for a TON of food.
