We've gone to Captain Bob's for their crabs for years. Â Tonight we thought we'd do something different and try the rest of their menu. Lesson learned: Â Avoid the menu, stick with the crabs. Â
The fish sandwhich was very overcooked and dry. Â The oysters looked (and tasted) to be of the frozen variety and the clam strips were extra chewy (again, probably frozen). Â The only dinners that receieved passing grades were the breaded shrimp and chicken strips. Â Since most of us didn't even finish our meals we ended up grabbing a pizza on the way home.
Authentic Maryland-steamed crabs with real Old Bay seasoning. Â What I like about Capt Bobs is they dont drop the crabs in until you order, so if you're eating in then expect to wait up to 30 minutes or more. Â But the crabs always come out piping hot and delicious. Â There are a few other things on the menu, which are all pretty good, but the crabs are the reason to go. Â Eat in or carry out, but call first to see what sizes they're offering that day.
Review Source:I came here on a Wednesday for some all you can eat crabs. The price is $29.99 to eat as many crabs you can from 6:30-8:30. I would say this is a good deal if you can eat at least 12-15 crabs. I would say your best bet is to focus your time on the lump meat in the body and not worry much about the legs. The crabs are good and loaded with plenty of old bay seasoning. Other than the crabs, I only had fries that come with the all you can eat special. They were fine, but I came for the crabs. To top it off, this is BYOB!
