I wrote a review of this place some time ago and it was removed by Yelp because of a complaint that the review didn't have any specifics. Â OK, Coach Light is so unimpressive specifics will be boring, but here they are...
Coach Light is a homey, old looking place that is intriguing, but not good. Â They don't have many customers. Â The food is pretty standard American food that is unimpressive. Â A lot of frozen and canned items served. Â Even the "specials". Â I think "special" just means that the restaurant go a good deal on frozen fish that week. Â Location is good.
Now, wasn't that boring? Â I think my original was much better. Â Now, who, I wonder, would have complained about the original review?

I can imagine the scene... the year is 2006, the place is the coach light restaurant located on valuable land at a major intersection near two big shopping centers. Developers and businessmen offering fistfuls of cash to the owners of the restaurant if they would sell out.
But the owners are holding out for more. The real estate market is going up, up, up. Just keep the place open another few months and the offers will get even bigger.
Oops. The bubble burst. No more offers.
Fast forward to 2010... Just keep the restaurant open, minimally maintained, with food barely edible and almost no customers. Maybe the market will recover?
(The preceding was all just my imagination, but seriously there is no other conceivable way that this place is still in business.)
Due to immense traffic, my brother and I were detoured through Pennsylvania, on our road trip from NYC to Maryland. We ended up  driving by Coach Light Family Restaurant, and we were intrigued by it's homey facade. The place is a bit dilapidated considering menu prices are pretty standard, but this certainly qualifies as a local family-run establishment. The service was pretty slow considering we were the only people in the joint; however, the waitress was probably 75 or 80 years old and very friendly. The homemade Italian wedding soup was quite good: a bit salty, but there were ample meatballs, and they were tasty. We also had onion rings and chicken fingers; both were standard boardwalk/beach quality.
