"What a Fucking hole in the wall" is what I thought upon walking into this hole in the wall.
Standing in line, surrounded by polaroid pictures of what I assumed were other confused customers, I enjoyed the complimentary reading material.
It's not any Hole in the wall that supplies it's customers with a plethora of passive-aggressive notes written in the world's finest Engrish. Creative Gems like ' No Childred pick up food. Chinese food hot!" and "Only take what you need. Or Else!" The latter of the two placed just above the cutlery and fortune cookie bar.
While waiting to order, one of the guys in the back came out to the counter. He was yelling at the top of his lungs in a mix of Chinese and English. I think from what I could understand, he was mad at one of the cooks? It was funny as all hell, because the only word I caught clearly was "bullshit."
Finally, we ordered the following:
Two hot and sour soups
two egg rolls
crab rangoon
pineapple chicken
General Tso's Tofu
Salt and Pepper Shrimp and Scallops
We took a table in the dining area, and almost immediately the soups and egg rolls were bought to out table by one of the employees. He promptly slammed the plates down, and walked away. This happened with all of the food.
Holy Shit balls, this food was great.
It was hot and fresh. It didn't taste like oil, or other food.
The stuff that was supposed to be crispy was just that, and the rangoon was amazing. Â Everything tasted great, and it was honestly the best Chinese food I've ever had.
The portions were insane. We took three boxes of leftovers home with us.
Do not come to this place for atomsphere, there is none. Come for excellent, hot, fresh, tasty food. I'll be back. It wasn't Bullshit at all.
The staff are incredibly friendly and professional; the food is DELICIOUS and you get great big portions. The best part is that the food isn't so typically salty like you would get in a regular chinese restaurant, you can actually taste the flavor of the sauces used with the foods and taste the vegetables you're eating. This is now my "go to" place for Chinese food in Shrewsbury.
