Cast Iron Grill and Bar

I wasn't too impressed with this place. The food was definitely presentable but there was something about the flavor that just wasn't enough to make me want to come back! They used sausage meat to create their meatloaf (imagine a meatloaf made from the sausage you pick off of your pizzas) - that's basically what it was ... and wrapped in a slice of bacon. The only thing I liked on this plate was the side of green beans and the mildly seasoned mashed potato.

We also ordered the mushroom ravioli - VERY BLAND! The taste of the mushroom was too overwhelming and mainly because that's all what was in the ravioli! They could have added Ricotta Cheese inside maybe even mixed some fresh spinach and freshly grated Parmesan Cheese after adding the cream sauce but NO! It was
just too plain.

I did, however, like the service and the humungous outdoor fireplace.

Other than that, 'sorry Cast Iron Grill - but you just didn't hit  the spot with me.'

We came into Cast Iron on a Tuesday night, it was steady but calm, there seemed to be a lot of people huddled around the bar. Very clean and well taken care of. The staff were prompt and very nice to us. They were constantly refilling our drinks and the food came out quickly! I had the salmon with roasted potatoes and spinach. My plate cost around $19.50. All were really good. If we are ever back in the Suisun area we will visit again. :)

The Best Suisun has to offer. A very small city with a great big heart. Cast Iron serves fresh locally grown veggies. They serve a variety of foods.. Daily social hour, Sunday Champagne brunch and holiday specials are a nice addition to the menu and very good service..  I personally love the signature olive tapenade. It's an acquired taste.. People either hate it or love it. But you must try it for yourself. Cool cocktails and outdoor fireplace are Cast Iron highlights.
