This place has GREAT potential. Â The location is great! Â The beer selection is extensive! Â The prices are good! Â The service... not so good.
We stopped in this past Saturday for some beers after Biscuit Festival. Â We were surprised to see that only one person was working. Â There weren't a huge amount of people in there but we still had to wait about 20 minutes for a beer. Â The bartender wasn't apologetic of the wait and simply stated that she was the only person working.
I would come back to The Casual Pint, but would hope for faster service next time. Â If we had been served more promptly, we could have been on our second beer by the time we got our first.
I love the Casual Pint - Downtown. Â Not only can you get so many beers on draft but they have a HUGE selection of bottled beer. Â The atmosphere is laid back and fun. Â It is definitely a place to hang out and chat with your friends. Â I love that you can test the beer too before you get an entire pint, & I frequently make 6 packs to go!
The lights are extremely bright here. Â It makes everything look really shiny and clean but it can be a bit much after a while.
Most of the servers are amazing & super friendly!
Negative: Â I fancy myself to be someone who has a little bit of knowledge about beer so I do not appreciate the fact that one of the bartenders (upon asking for a rec) assumed that I must "want something sweet" with a noticeable eye-roll. Â She literally looked like she would rather be doing ANYTHING else than standing there talking to me. Â I don't care that I was annoying her but please don't automatically assume that I want a ZIMA. Â
Otherwise, Amazing!
Well....They have a great beer selection and the atmosphere is cool (even if its loud as hell).,,just don't buy a beer from the cooler and drink it there because you'll get yelled at because you should pay more for it BECAUSE ITS ON DRAFT?? They don't even have the beer I bought on draft. Â Whatever ..I'll drink my beer somewhere else....in peace. Bc that's how I like to drink my beer. Cheers.
Review Source:The casual pint serves many purposes. For me it's a small little place to look at beer and buy what may not be sold in a grocery store. I don't think the breadth of types of beer is that exhaustive, but it is a start. I like to go in and try a beer and buy a case. Lots of people use the bar as a quieter spot to watch games or hangout without a huge crowd. Either way it's a good stop for browsing, buying, or tasting :-)
Review Source:I've been coming by the new location on a regular basis for a few weeks to put in a couple of hours of work before heading home. Â I enjoy the selection, and the staff is super friendly.
However...
I gave it 3 starts because the fans from the refrigerators are so loud they make conversation tough and even drown out the music most of the time! Â
Personally, this doesn't bother me when I'm working because I put headphones on, but I wouldn't come here socially for more than a quick pint before moving on to a quieter location if I was with friends.
I thought this might be a temporary issue, but it's been a few weeks now. Â If they fixed the noise, this place would be 5 stars.
Thank the heavens the Pint opened a downtown location!!! Â I felt like a kid on Christmas morning when they opened. Â The Casual pint is, hands down, my favorite bar/beer shop on Earth! Â I live one block away, so no more driving to Northshore anymore. Â Now I can spend all my money on my walk home from work. Â Awesome!
This location is very small, especially compared to the wide open space at the Northshore location. Â However, their serving a smaller market of people here. Â The bar takes up the left side and there are about 3-4 shelves full of six packs on the right. Â You can also make your own sixer from an excellent selection of beers. Â One great thing I noticed is there's a flat $13.99 price tag to make a mixer sixer. Â At the Northshore location they charged by bottle. Â I usually always got the $3 per bottle beers and sometimes a $4 bottle, which would bring the price of a mixer close to $20. Â This new price point is perfect, but not sure if this is just for the downtown spot only. Â
I went opening night and you could barely move, which is great for them but bad for me. Â I'm sure the chaos was due to opening night as half the people there were family and friends. Â Hopefully the crowd will die down as the weeks go about so I could actually enjoy a pint and have a conversation. Â
The staff is fabulous. Â They remembered me from my visits to the Northshore location and seem genuinely happy that you walked through the door.
If you're downtown and want a place to enjoy GOOD beer without a bunch of dumb ass frat tards from UT, then this would be the place to go. Â Cheers!
Brand new location... You can still smell the varnish in the wood bar.
Half beer store, half bar, totally awesome. Local favorites, great imports, nice employees. They even have two fridges full of mix-and-match singles to build your own 6-pack. And it's right in market square.
Just wish we had something like this in NH!
