This is a fabulous restaurant! Â The food was amazing!
The chef must have been trained in the finest of schools.. Every bite had a marvelous combination of  flavor-filled delights that stays on my memory days later.  I cant wait to go back! The duck appetizer was simply amazing, and the lamb was incredible!
Even the Martinis were better than I have had anywhere else!
And they say you have to go to NYC for fine cuisine! Ha! We have a gem right here in Mount Tremper!
Was on a trip with friends in Phoenecia and yelped this place. They literally served my three friends and I the worst meal of our lives. We eat everything under the sun but had one bite and could not bear to put anymore in our mouths. The pork chop must have been rubbed in salt. The sweet potato gnocchi sounded like a great idea, but was like biting into a wax candlestick. Â It was as though five year olds had cooked a meal and served it to us a day later. And on top of it all, the night we went there was only one man running the whole restaurant, the service was terrible and said man was horribly rude. Never again!
Review Source:On a weekend trip to Woodstock I stumbled upon this Inn/Restaurant. It is wonderful place to stay and dine. The room was contemporary and well appointed. The food was organically fresh and delicious. The smoked trout polenta salad was amazing. The tamarind spare ribs were surprisingly succulent. Creme brûlée was absolutely one of the best I've had-really! The Catskill Rose is a definite keeper.
Review Source:This place has definitely had a make over since the last review. Â The dining room isn't huge, but it's nice. Â The only complaint was the it was so quiet in there, it was like dining in a library! Good eateries are rare up in this area, and we was pleasantly surprised with Catskill Rose. Â
Our server was really great. Â While the restaurant wasn't crowded, he was still polite and attentive, and he offered good insights when we were picking out wine.
I visited with my two sisters over the Christmas holiday. Â The menu is great. Â I love Catskill Rose's take on fresh and organic foods, and the chef definitely has some skill and creativity. Â
We all started with appetizers and then moved onto our main courses, and it was the perfect amount of food for us. Â The steak was the star dish of the night. Â The price, for the quality of food, is excellent.
Bottom Line: In our short stay up in the Catskills, we had our best meal here. Â It's worth the drive if you're in the area.
Restaurants can be very hit and miss in the area and fortunately, Catskill Rose is definitely a hit. Great new American food and fantastic service.
I'd give it 5 stars, but it really needs a decorating makeover. The decor is kind of on the "granny" and cheap side. Also the lighting is really bad. It's so bright in there. There's no intimacy or romance to be found. And sadly, it's a turnoff and shame since the food is so good.
If the decor was more stylish, rustic & inviting, I know I'd eat here more often.
But, if you don't care about decor, then hit up Catskill Rose for a delicious meal.
