Went here today to grab a drink and some lunch. My girlfriend and I just happen upon this place so we went in. About 4pm on a Saturday and just 4 or 5 people at the bar. Â We sat at the bar. They have 3 or 4 T.V.'s around with some sports on them. We each ordered a Angry Orchard Hard Cider (on tap) It was cold and pretty tasty.
For lunch we split a large spinach salad witch was fresh & tasty. It had spinach, onion, feta with some of those hot peppers on the side. And we also had the White Pizza, also very yummy.
Overall the service was good, food was good and came fast and the cider was cold !! Â That's really all I can ask for in a bar/lounge for lunch. I don't make it up to Dover very often, but if I did, I would have no problem going back here for quick lunch & a beer for not a lot of $$
For me, the only redeeming thing about this place is their Monday night karaoke and their Monday night karaoke guy. Â I went there almost every Monday last summer with my theatre friends to sing our little faces off. Â We were clearly not the typical Central Wave crowd considering the wierd looks we got by people as we sang High School Musical and sweet 80s hits. Â Other night that I visited Central Wave, I got hit on by sketchy dudes and sized up by little sluts. Â The staff is nice though.
Review Source:I wish I had been of age back when it was Dover Soul, honestly.
Central Wave has some pros, one being a "dance floor", thus an opportunity for me to dance with my friends (read: dance with my FRIENDS, not random creepy dudes.. sorry), however it is pretty mediocre and small.
Drinks are over-priced, unless you're lucky enough to have "connections" which I don't at this particular establishment. It also takes forever to get served, by very stoic and non-engaging bartenders so that's a blast...
Just not my scene. Also when I tried to use my non-expired passport for my ID, the bouncer said "You can easily fake these do you have anything else?" WTF ITS A PASSPORT!!
Ugh. Gross.
Ate there once. Â Ate fish and chips and pizza. Â Had a few drinks. Â There was no cole slaw with the fish and chips, so the waitress brought us broccoli (our choice). Â She also brought a toy for our kids to play with. Â And, while the fish and chips were a little small, she seemed to sense this and asked the cook (without our asking) to make a little more. Â Seriously- without our asking. Â Needless to say, she got a big tip. Â And, won some customers. Â
Quality of food was average, but the drinks were stiff. Â Actually, just to add one more compliment, the fish was well-cooked. Â The chips were pretty weak. Â The pizza was average. Â The service exceeded the food quality, and that may have been because we were there on a Sunday afternoon, with two kids and few other customers.
