Pretty chill and laid back bar... and I normally avoid bars like the plague. I was visiting a good friend in Wichita and we rolled over here for his birthday to meet up with some of his friends.
The place is fairly large, has a few pool tables if you are into that thing, and a back patio area with chairs for anyone who feels the need to light up some smokes. Watch where you stand when you go outside though, some water drips down from the roof. hahaha.. That made for a few laughs once everyone had a few drinks in them.
I am not sure who decided to play Prince's Purple Rain on the juke box... but I wanna mention that it was kind of awkward. haha
The place is clean, so are the bathrooms, although I was kinda confused that it uses curtains instead of actual stall doors. LoL
It looks like they also serve food but I didn't get any. I had a couple shots of vodka and the people I was with all had ...well... a lot of beer and drinks.
Bartender kinda was pushy at the end of the night, I guess I can't blame him for wanting to kick the drunks out at 2am. The server was cool, although if it is your birthday, you might wanna wear a cup cause she might sack tap you. Enjoy!
I went to the chalet with a group of friends to celebrate one of them taking over a business. Â I had heard rumors of the place being kind of like the "Cheers" of Wichita, as they had advertised on the radio, and so I kind of had a preset expectation. Â
I showed up and the Old English style building carried on within. Â The lighting was dark enough that it set an intimate mood, while bright enough to let you see around the bar clearly. Â The bar definitely is a part of Wichita, as WSU Shockers memorabilia is located throughout, and the food smelled great, albeit it was standard bar fare. Â
I waited for about 15 minutes while our server came to our table once to clear plates. Â She completely ignored me and so I went to the bar to get a drink. Â Pitchers were affordable, and the bar staff was quick and friendly. Â The only thing that really irked me was having to get up to get my beer, but each time they were quick and friendly, and they had Guinness on tap.
Overall the experience was great, and I enjoyed myself. Â It disappoints me about the poor table service, but everything else was fine.
