I seldom go to chain restaurants because, let's face it, chain restaurants are seldom good. But a friend wanted to go, so I obliged. I ordered a enchilada/tamale combo. The price was 10.99, pretty expensive for what I got. When it arrived, the entree was smothered with a less than appetizing brown sauce. When I took a bite, I thought "oh crap." It was as salty as it looked. There was no nuance of flavor at all but salt. The dish came with a small portion of rice, beans, and a very tiny scoop of sweet corn stuff. There was no green at all, which really made the dish even less appetizing.

The service was so so. Jaime was courteous and friendly (especially when he was kissing butt for a tip), but he was inattentive. We had to look for him many times for service.

Bottom line....bad overly salty food, portions are small, price is rather high, service not so great.

The food and drinks were very good but they made a mistake on the bill that made me very suspicious.
Margaritas and food together with friends is an invitation for fun and laughter - well we did all nite long. The shrimp ceviche was awesome, the guacamole made to order was good, the salsa on the table was above average, the prices within reach and affordable.
The service was hit and miss all nite, things coming out of the kitchen were slow, and when the bill came it had mistakes all over it. Beware of your tab and pay attention to what is being charged.

Okay, we all know the food at Chevy's is consistently good. I mean, it's tex mex and we love that stuff. Margaritas are also good. But the reason I am writing this review is because of one person at this particular Chevy's who is the most welcoming, friendly and funny hostess they have ever had. (I've been going there for at least 10 years) I didn't get her name but I will get it next time. You will know her when you see her. She has the most genuine smile and natural air about her. I haven't felt that welcome to a restaurant in many, many years. She connects with the incoming customers immediately, always smiling with eyes sparkling. She is a definite people person.

The manager (god, I am bad with names) is very friendly. My room mate had been looking for a job for years and had no luck. We would talk about this to her each time we visited. Well, he got a job and the manager did a very sweet thing that I've never seen anyone else do. She gave him his dinner on the house as a sort of congratulations!

Great people at this Chevy's. All of Elk Grove knows about it.

Wasn't hungry for the fajitas, or wanted that much, so got a salad. Good thing I wasn't that hungry, because their salads are way overpriced jokes. It tasted good, and the apple-chipolte dressing was very good, but it was SOOOO small and cost $12.. It was spread all out on a large plate to make it look bigger, but not much there.; one small layer of some chopped romaine lettuce about 1/2" deep, with the other stuff scattered around. If you want a real salad that is at least 4X as large for 2/3 the price, Dos Coyotes is the place. Even if they would have tripled the amount of lettuce, it would have been much better, and after all, how much does lettuce cost? The amount of meat and other stuff would have been fine spread around more lettuce.... after all, it was supposed to be a salad. At least then I may have tried going there again, but I'll stick with Dos Coyotes. The coconut ice cream sundae was a much better deal than the salad, and would probably be my only reason to go back. I've had two kids who have worked at different Chevy's in years past, and even they were commenting about how the portions have really been reduced. I can even understand it on the meat, but on cheap lettuce??? I hope it was worth the 50 cents in lettuce that they saved to lose a customer.

I'm a huge fan of tex-mex, and now that I'm pregnant, it's a must! I can't say that Chevy's always hits the spot in terms of my craving, but it usually does the trick.

I usually love all Chevy's for their blended margaritas. (Pre-pregnancy obviously) I highly recommend the blended mango, really yummy and made perfect! Be careful though, just because you can hardly taste the alcohol, doesn't mean it won't creep up on you and hit you hard!!!

At this particular location, the service is usually mediocre at best. I can only recall ONE time when the server actually seemed happy to help us and our food and drinks were served at a timely manner. I usually only like to stick with what I know and love, and that is: Shrimp/Crab Enchiladas (extra tomalito, b/c that thing is BOMB!), or the combination fajitas. You can never go wrong w/ a sizzling plate of veggies and meats with hot fresh tortillas and all the toppings!

I decided to be adventurous twice, and I tried two separate salads on two separate occasions. The first was the toastada salad, which comes with a big taco bowl with tomatoes, cheese, your choice of meat, and dressing. When I think of taco salad, I think of ground beef loaded with sour cream and guac and packed with flavor from the salsa. This one wasn't so grand. The taco bowl is on the side, which is presented like the bowl is tipped over and there's salad all over the place. The lettuce is chopped in BIG CHUNKS and if you don't order dressing, it's a very bland salad and with chunks of meat. NOT your authentic salad, so I was really disappointed. The second time was the Fiesta Salad with shrimp. A sad and limp bed of lettuce, shrimp and toppings. The only good thing about that salad was the apple chipotle dressing. So, if I ever return, I'm only sticking to what I know.

Not a bad place, great for happy hour, and one thing that is always on point is the chips and salsa.

On May 24, 2013 brought the wife and kids to dinner here for my birthday. We had a great meal and our server Jaime was awesome. We had the Super Cinco to start and then ordered plates with steak, tamales, enchiladas and tacos. Food was really good. And the wife had a huge Margarita. 5 people for dinner and we ordered 3 plates of food and the app. we had to still bring home leftovers.

We always come to this location with no complaints. Sorry to say on this visit, this was not the case. Margaritas were watered down. Steak nachos were cold when they got to the table. Finally the boarder wings had a buffalo style bright orange sauce on them. Overall very disappointed. Lisa, the manager did compensate for this, but we will think twice B4 we come back again. There were two attempts made for the margaritas both were bad. The nachos were taken back to the kitchen but when they came back, it looked as if they just added to more cheese to hide the burnt chips that were on the originaln plate. The border nachos are something we always order and this time they looked as if they ran out out sauce and just substituted a orange wing sauce. So for this, i give them two stars.

First visit to Chevy's, we had a great server name Jaime. He seemed to be the best server in the whole place. He was super friendly, attentive and did a great job. Everyone else was in some sort of strange twilight zone. Maybe it was because it was the end of the night.

The salsa that is served with chips is amazing, I will give them that. It was so good I was eating it by the spoonful. The tortilla soup left a lot to desire, as did my side salad. The fajitas the hubs ordered looked really good though, and they were huge with maybe 4 different kinds of meat. The margaritas were tasty and they have quite a few drink options--it may be a close-to-home happy hour kind of spot. Beer selection is definitely not exciting at all though.

Will check back in here to see what their happy hour offers me since it's a short walk away from home.

Chevy's is a hit and miss, service sometimes sucks. They take forever to bring you chips and salsa or to even refill your drinks. The past 2 times I have went it has been ok service. The waiter was just ok, I a really hesitant on going to Chevys these days.

Nice place to hang out for happy hour and in large groups parties. Recently, we went for a birthday celebration and they gave us a private room for our parties. It was nice except the waitress was slow.

I was in here for a quick lunch today and I just had to post about the wonderful experience I had! My waiter, Zachary, was magnificent. He was so friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu, which is so refreshing at a big chain restaurant like this. You just don't get service like that anymore! The food was great, came out quickly, and Zachary made sure I was back at work on time! I will definitely he back and requesting Zachary as my server!

Usually a great experience, tonight was no exception. Our food was quicker than I thought humanly possible which likely indicates that the enchiladas are pre-cooked but they were still tasty so I can't complain. Pineapple lemonade rocked btw.

Food tasted like Chevy's. Most unprofessional service ever. I worked in a restaurant, and the boss would've flipped out had she seen what we saw. But it was a manager waiting on us. Some people have no situational awareness.

Came here for lunch on a whim before heading to a baby shower. The service was stellar and the person serving us was super helpful. I had the shrimp taquito appetizer.. it was decent. The hubs had a soup and salad combo... also well liked.

Clean establishment and overall would come back again.

Service is super slooooooow here...we sat in the bar area and yeah, I understand it's difficult to serve there. But wow, I barely saw her...when she came to take our order, she mumbled and I could barely understand a work she was saying. Later on, he briskly walked by our table without stopping and asked how we were doing...well, since she walked by while asking us that, I didn't have a chance to tell her. Haha.

The food took a loooooooooong time. The restaurant was empty...the bar was busy. The food was consistent as other locations...the fajitas came out piping hot.

Below average experience...2 stars.

Decent variety for the happy hour menu. Our table of 3 people had three happy hour items, a bottle of domestic beer, two margaritas, and two baskets of chips and salsa for around $45..not bad and we were definitely full. Service was decent but they were a bit busy and only checked on our table once before delivering the bill.

Called this location to order and pick up...made the mistake of asking about adding a salad and chick didnt know if we could do that.....we were put on hold for FIVE minutes...hung up and called back and the chick had to ask a manager so she put me on hold again. Manager gets on the phone and confirms the salad but is in a hurry to get off phone and I have a feeling he doesnt have order straight so I call back a 3rd time and original chick answers. As suspected order wasnt correct and was put on hold AGAIN. Hung up and now im hungry and irritated so I call back and tell them to cancel the whole order. Ended up ordering from Chili's and will never order from this chevys location again

I usually order cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and that is the only thing I like in Chevys. I am sure if I was a meat eater, I would love this restaurant even more. I don't dislike this place but it is not one of my favorites either. The customer service has always been excellent. There is always plenty of parking space, since Borders closed down. Target, Starbucks, Supercuts, Petco are within this shopping center.

This Chevy's has took a turn for the worst. This new management has ruined this location.First off this is the most " White Washed" Chevy's ever!! I miss the old Chevy's and the Hispanic servers that used to treat you with respect and wouldn't ask any questions or get rude with you if you ask for extra napkins or tortillas (these servers make you feel like you are imposing them if your ask for something). The food is tasteless and horrible the "New" Spanish Rice tastes like it came out of a box with canned vegetables the quesadillas are cheeseless. And on top of that they play American music in a Mexican themed restaurant!(What happened to the stereotypical mexican music that made me feel like I was in Cabo?)Horrible Service, Horrible Food. I Want the old Chevy's back!!!!!!!!

This Chevy's has a nice, open, fun atmosphere. The food is good, as you'd expect from a Chevy's. The service is very hospitable. The hostess, waiter and manager were all very cool. Even though they messed up on our order, they went above and beyond to make it more than right. I'll go back again.

Big thanks to Chevy's Elk Grove for hosting Yelp Elites at the Livin' La Vida Fresca event a few months ago. I left this same review on the event page but felt I should also leave it on the main Chevy's EG page too.

When I arrived, I was greeted by one of the managers who was SUPER friendly and funny. Before I even walked in I spied the servers walking around w/ this huge margarita w/ a Coronita poking out of it. I asked the manager where I could buy one of those and she said, "we are serving them for free to you Yelp Elites!" I really couldn't believe that we were being treated to full size adult beverages. At most yelp events I've been too, you get a "sample size" or you have to pay for your drinks. Come to find out, the drink was called The Bulldog, it was sweet, tart and the perfect refreshment on a warm night. There was also a beautiful drink call La Paloma, a crimson on the rocks beverage w/ fruit juice and El Jimador. Also very sweet and refreshing. Now on to the food which was a delicious array of full size appetizers in seafood, beef and chicken. All of the skewers were tasty but the beef skewer was perfectly marinated and seasoned. The meat practically fell of the skewer when I bit into it. The seafood flautas were divine! The perfect amount of seafood enveloped in a savory, creamy sauce. The only problem was... I wasn't able to get a spoonfull of the jalapeno jelly that the server had on her tray because there was no spoon to get it out with. Same w/ the chicken flauta which were great but couldn't some pico de gallo to slather on it. Nonetheless... it was a packed house w/ gracious hosts and friendly servers. The icing on the cake were the yelp swag on the tables and the sweet swag bag that we got as we left. It made me feel like a 5 yr old leaving a birthday party and getting a goodie bag. This bag had an awesome cd of musica en espanol, a couple of Chevy's food freebie coupons and some fun little swag items. I have to give props to Chevy's EG for treating Yelp Elites so generously. Oh one more thing I noticed... at the tables in the regular dining room there were little ipad looking tablets on each table where you could look at the menu, play games, etc. GENIUS. I can't wait to go back to mess with the table technology.

This place is extremely popular. I cannot fathom why. They are expensive for everything from their appetizers to entrees to desserts. They have long waits but such a small space inside to wait. Leaving many outside and cold. My most recent experience occurred on Saturday the 10th. My wait was about 20 minutes long. We had many delays with our chips and salsa and when we did get them, we were served one salsa and chip basket at a time for four people and once we got two baskets but only one salsa bowl. What is stupid is that you can only get happy hour prices in a small place with only about 5 tables or the bar. We also had to ask for napkins because there were only a few on the table. They also forgot about part of our order. This experience was the
Worst Chevys Experience EVER!

I will only go to Chevys if I absolutely have too! Like if my parents or relatives pick Chevys for dinner then I'll just go but other than that, nope!

Their happy hour appetizer menu used to be half off but not anymore! :( Boo! The margaritas are ok. I mean, it's good but way too sweet for my liking. I ordered the wings and they were super dry. The flautas and nachos are good, can't go wrong with those though.

This place is always busy and I can't seem to understand why. Took forever for my shot of crown! The food isn't great. I think I'd much rather eat at the mom and pop places than chain restaurants. And if I have to eat at a chain restaurant, Chevys is definitely not on my top 10 list!

Visit 9/5 - OK, So I decided to give this Elk Grove Chevy's another chance. Past visits over the years were horrible but after such a great experience on Howe I said why not.

So I took my sister in for happy hour to share with her summer in a glass ( Coconut Pineapple Margaritas). When we walked in we were greeted and told about their happy hour specials and their featured watermelon margarita. The guy described how it was made with fresh watermelon. I told him that we were there for the Coconut Pineapple Margaritas. He told me that they no longer had that and that we should try the watermelon margarita instead because it was this months feature. With great disappointment we sat down in the bar. We waited ten minutes before chips and salsa were brought out and another 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. Did I mention they were not busy. Finally, someone grabbed us a waitress and she apologized for the delay. Anyways, we went ahead and ordered the watermelon margaritas, can you say YUK? It was horrible. Had to be the nastiest drink I have ever had. We should have stopped there but we ordered some food. My sister ordered the crab and shrimp enchiladas and I ordered the chipotle steak tacos. My sister, loved her crab and shrimp enchiladas and the sauce was even good on the grilled veggies. My tacos were edible but not great, taco bell would have been better. The rice for both was hard and didn't seem like it was fresh at all. The sweet corn was dried out. The grilled veggies were dry too. I was suppose to get beans and didn't but when she brought those out, they too were nasty. This experience was true to the past experiences and the reasons why I stopped coming here to top it all off, our server Michelle, who was great, offered us another margarita. When asked what was available, the third one named was the coconut pineapple margarita we had came in for. Now I was pissed. After sharing with her what we were told by the manager no less, she went to the bar and made it happen. The manager later came to apologize and comped the watermelon margaritas. Now I was excited, I was about to share summer in a glass with my sister. When the drinks came, I was like you are going to enjoy this, the look on her face said it all. I knew I was about to be disappointed. It was HORRIBLE and salty. Not salt around the rim but in the drink. NO....then when I looked at my glass, they had garnished it with a lime that was going brown. At this point I just wanted the check so we could leave. Michelle was the only bright spot and we couldn't wait to call corporate and let them know of her outstanding work. I learned that the Chevy's are broken down in regions so sometimes they may not all carry the same things or ran with the same high expectations. If you must go to Chevy's go to the one on Howe or on the River. At least there your drinks will be right and your food fresh.

The one star is for Michelle You Rock..

We finally made it into Chevy's for dinner. Since my taste buds have changed, i'm more accepting to mexican food now though i know most of you will disagree if it's even mexican food. I actually really like this place because it's americanized mexican food and for new mexican food eaters, this is the place to go.

We ordered the mixed grilled platos and flutas and shared between 2 people. That mixed grilled platos is more than enough to share. I love that their tortillas are very thick and almost bread like. It filled us up pretty quick since we each only had two tacos! The grilled steak and chicken is delicious. The quacamole tasted fresh and i liked that they left big chunks of it instead of mashing it all. The pork carnitas were a little salty by itself but tasted good in the tacos. The flutas are awesome! It's like a mix between eggrolls and taquitos and the dipping sauce is like a sweet chili sauce. Very weird and very good.

Their strawberry and watermelon lemonade was really good. It definitely did not taste like minute maid with strawberries in it. I hate when they do that because minute maid is gross. Their mexican bulldog is my favorite! It's a margarita with a small corona bottle upside down in it, my two favorite types of drinks! yum!

The waiter was very nice, he spoke a little fast with a mexican accent. If he was in my speech class, i'd tell him to slow it down because i can't understand you brother! nonetheless, they were super nice, i like that they kept checking up on us.

I was fairly amused by their happy birthday singing too haha and the 3 screaming kids that were carried out by their parents that needed a serious ass whooping because they were killing my ears.

Over the years Chevy's has gone through many changes. I have fond memories of going to Chevy's for pitchers of margaritas (extra shots were only a dollar so we would order six and pour them in the pitcher) and then staggering the two blocks back home. Of my daughter's sixth birthday party, she loved the hat but the food was practically uneatable and the staff seemed distant and under trained.

A few years later the food had vastly improved and they had the dollar menu where you could add all kinds of extras onto your entrée for a dollar. We would order about ten extra items on the side and then eat leftovers all weekend.

Then they came out with the idea of making the guacamole at your table. That might have been my favorite thing that Chevy's has ever had to offer. I could not believe it was discontinued.

Chevy's has changed again. Their staff seems to be well trained and extremely professional. The bulldog margaritas are over the top delicious even if they are a little overpriced (I honestly think they would sell twice as many if they were about a buck and a half cheaper) and their menu has changed again as well. I recently had the carnitas fajitas and was amazed at the amount of large delicious chunks of pork I was given with my meal. The best thing about their new menu is that they have brought back the guacamole made to order at your table. Now if they would only bring back the dollar side dishes.

I am very impressed that chain restaurants like Chevy's have begun to listen to and respond to the social media while a lot of the privately owned restaurants are still sticking their nose up at us. I think it might be evening out the playing field. Remember people, there is power in numbers.

Happy hour for drinks and food? Yessss! Happy hour is 3-7 on weekdays but not sure about the weekends. My go to appetizer is the fresh mex faves! It includes buffalo wings, chicken flautas, quesadillas, and chips loaded with meat and cheese on top. Everything on this dish is delicious, but what I really drool over is the chicken flautas. Don't ask, just try it!

They're also popular for their coronaritas (called mexican bulldog here) and margaritas. All I need is a margarita and chicken flautas and I'm good to go. ;)

Ever since Yelp arranged for us to attend some "Chevys awareness events", memories of Chevys past began flooding back. I think these chain restaurants have been around since at least the 80's. I remember going to a Chevys that was once located in South Sacramento on La Mancha Way just off Mack Rd. It was very close to my place of employment at the time, so my co-workers and I often met there for dinner after work. They even threw me a surprise birthday party there, in which I got my free sombrero! The great margaritas and food just kept bringing us back.

Then that restaurant closed down and we were very disappointed with the loss. Having to find another place to hang out just wasn't the same. Eventually as Elk Grove started increasing in size with that whole ridiculous population explosion and greedy banks/investors going hog wild with overpriced housing, urban sprawl, etc., a new Chevys was born amongst the strip mall chaos.... (Sorry, I went off topic and had to sneak in my anger about this)!

Anyway, back to Chevys. For a while, I started to forget that these places were still around. But after attending a recent Yelp event at this restaurant with the intention of alerting the public of a new menu, my interest in their food and drink has returned! I came here with my boyfriend Joe K. for dinner. We had the best experience from beginning to end. Even though the place was crowded, we were still treated as an important customer that consisted of great service and all smiles!

I ordered the Farmers Market enchiladas. Great dish for the vegetarian minded like me. It was filled with delicious vegetables like artichoke hearts, mushrooms, corn, diced tomatoes, poblano peppers and melted jack cheese, topped with a rich and spicy habanero pesto sauce. My boyfriend had Carnitas Fajitas which included some awesome tasting pork that came in a huge three section platter of ingredients. While we waited for our food to be cooked, I had a large watermelon margarita and bf ordered a Bulldog margarita. In addition to our all-you-can-eat chips and salsa, my boyfriend asked if they still made fresh guacamole at the table while you watched. And indeed they did! It is called Guac-My-Way. Apparently they just brought this past attraction back to the menu. You can have your avocados cut, scooped, sliced or smashed, with salsa and lime prepared fresh the way you like it. Even nearby patrons were turning their heads with interest to watch the preparation.

Anna our waitress did a wonderful job serving us along with the other wait staff from the hostess who seated us, the guacamole man, the food deliverer, and even the manager who checked in on us to make sure everything was to our liking. We've discovered some new favorite dishes here by the way! We went home feeling happy and pleasantly full!

Yes, my review may be long winded and passed over by most readers, but the good food and service required the lengthy details.
Thanks to Yelp for pointing us in this direction, I've fallen back in love with Chevys and ready to create some new memories!

If you're looking for a good night out, close to home, and and atmosphere that is all cantina - Chevy's is your place! The most welcoming atmosphere and staff along with some of the best, fresh Mexican food I've had. Chevy's has always been one of my favorite places to go, but my last experience makes me want to write about it and let everyone else know that they need to go to this place too.

The pillar of any good Mexican food place is their chips and salsa - the Chevy's salsa has a fresh, crisp taste - and they'll bring you the hot version if you so request. The chips are thin, light, airy, and have a light sprinkle of salt - I'd almost recommend Chevy's just for their chips and drinks if I didn't think the food was worth it - but it is!

You also need to get a Bulldog - it's a margarita (you can get it flavored) with a Caronita upside-down to provide the neat mix of fizzle and bubbly to what is already a great drink!

For the price, you'll get nothing better than Chevy's. I have some food recommendations: the shrimp and crab enchiladas are the best with the perfect topping - a habanero/pesto/cream sauce. I would also recommend the app of chicken taquitos... the best!

Food, service, and value - Chevy's is the trifecta of fresh-mex!

I came here last night for the first time since there was a Yelp Elite event here.

This place was really clean, and all the decor was so cute and colorful! It just kinda brings out a happy mood in you.

The service was amazing. I was greeted while walking in, and there were even staff helping to guide me to the line to check in for the Yelp event. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. The staff at Chevy's truly knows the meaning and importance of customer service.

I usually prefer the more authentic Mexican food from a local taqueria rather than some chain, but I have to say that the food was rather enjoyable. My favorite appetizer that I tried were the flautas, I believe. I never used to like Chevy's that much, but I just might have to visit more for the yummy appetizers!

Elk Grove After Meeting Cocktail Spot - 5 stars
Cocktail Service - 3 stars for most of the wait staff
Two Blondes in the Bar area - 6 Stars ( Read On )
Food - 3 Stars
Value - 3 Stars
Free Chips and Salsa - 6 Stars
Warm flour tortillas with butter - 5 Stars

This review may confuse those of you that blast through Yelp with an ADD afterburner, but for those that will read the review, you will understand.

First off, it's Chevy's.... If you want real Mexican food..... YOU DON'T GO TO CHEVY's
If you want really good drinks and free delicious chips and Salsa, YOU GO TO CHEVY's

Our group used to go to the Old Spaghetti Factory on Laguna, but the service at night ( admittedly 30 minutes before close ) sucked. For 4 months, every time we went in, we received crappy service. The wait staff was staring at the clocks and just wanted to get the hell out. Again, we didn't show up 5 minutes before closing, but about 30 minutes. Our group likes to have one drink each over an appetizer and recap our night. Most of us want to get home to our families as well, but a quick drink and bite to eat has been a nice way to end these meetings.

The food at all Chevy's is at best 3 stars, but this is my new Elk Grove after meeting drink spot. Once a month, I host free real estate training meetings in our Elk Grove office, http://www.facebook.com/… (ok blatant business plug, sorry ). After the meetings, a group of us enjoy the quick company away from the office place.

When we walk in, it is usually in the later evening nearing the closing time. We still receive good service. There are two blondes that work the bar area, ones a bit taller and usually pours the drinks and is usually pretty loud. The other is a bit shorter, cute personality, and always on top of the drinks, waters, chips, and appetizers. They both always have a warm personality. This is how I want to end my work day, not with grumpy waiters.

The drinks are always good and the two blondes alone give Chevy's the extra star. I rarely give out 5 stars, but if we keep heading back and the service stays the same, they will earn it.

Thanks Chevy's for having us yelpers come over last night! We probably overwhelmed you with all our hungry stomachs, but you guys did a good job keeping up with service! I know you were probably tired from running around, but it would have been nice to hang out and talk with you guys a bit. The staff up front is very friendly, directing us around and even opening the doors for us as we came in and left. I like!

The place is a little small, but well kept and clean. Very dimly lit at night though. After the yelp event, I came back with some coupons and the server highly suggested we order the platos grande, which was pretty much a little bit of carnitas, shirmp, and steak on a sizzling platter with sides to make your own tacos. At about $18 a platter, it was very pricey. The food was good, but not great at that price.

I've never been to Chevy's before, but these three visits have really opened up my eyes to what they have to offer! I hear they have a happy hour, so the next time you're in the mood for some Tex-Mex, take a look at Chevy's and see what they have.

Chevys does it right. Every time. Every location. This is yet another great example of the well oiled customer service machine that is Chevys. My hats off to management because you have your staff TRAINED WELL! I have never been as fussed over as when I visited this location. I had people from management and a host of the small army of servers helping our party out constantly waiting on me the whole time I was here. Even when I was busy working our event I had several waiters/waitresses say they noticed I had nothing to eat yet and making sure I got a chance at the apps. Had several higher level managers changing out my cokes on a regular basis too even though they easily could have gotten someone to do that. Was sealed the deal for me was watching a district manager take out the trash and busing tables because he saw the servers were slammed. That is what I am talking about. Customer service at all levels. People in management that obviously care. That coupled with the generosity for the party (tons of drinks and food plus great gift bags) had my head nodding while I heard people talk about this being the best Yelp Elite Events ever.

Really I cannot say enough about the food. These events have opened my eyes to the range that Chevys brings to the table. The skewers are AMAZING (shrimp, chicken, and beef) and would never have been an item I would have tried if they had not sampled them for us. The flautas were great and of course the chips and salsa as always were divine. I am not a drinker but I heard nothing but glowing reviews of the margaritas and shots being served at the event.

To wrap things up I just want to commend Chevys for delivering in all the categories. Decor/location, Food/Drinks, and most importantly Customer Service. Keep up the great work! Hope we get to La Vida Loca with you guys again soon.

I hadn't been to Chevys in years, but I was in the mood for Tex-Mex and I heard that they make a good margarita, so I went to dinner here with friends.

The menu looked a lot different than I remembered--there were fewer options and the entrees were more expensive. I had the shrimp and crab enchiladas and the seafood was decent. It was a bit bland and the taste of the crab was covered up by the cream sauce. The grilled veggies on the side were also overdone, with the carrots being almost impossible to cut through. I had the Mexican Bulldog to drink, which is a frozen margarita with a corona bottle stuck upside down in the glass. It was an interesting taste, not great but not terrible. Unfortunately, the corona caused the margarita to melt with the beer and slush separating into different layers within the glass.

Overall, I feel that Chevys makes $10 entrees for a $15 price. This wasn't a great deal, but maybe I should try their Happy Hour before making a final decision about whether Chevys is a place worth visiting.

I still love their tamalito.

I used to come here a lot for their happy hour, but since then I've discovered much better places to eat. Upon arrival, my friend and I were pleasantly surprised that they have happy hour on a Sunday. Happy hour now takes place everyday 2PM-8PM. The menu is not the same. Old favorites such as Crispy Chicken Flautas are still on the menu but there are several new items. Prices are not the same either. It's a little pricier than before, however margaritas are still a steal at $3.

My friend ordered the Crispy Flauta Rolls. It now comes with Buffalo Chips, which I enjoyed. The chips had spicy wing sauce, bleu cheese, and green onions on them. I normally stick with flautas, but I decided to try something new- 1/2 Pound Dos Equis Popcorn Shrimp. The shrimp weren't humongous but they weren't so small that you can't tell its shrimp. They were served with jalapeño jelly and chipotle aioli as dipping sauces. I've always loved their chipotle aioli. I think the meal would've been better if it had something to balance out the fried shrimp.

Service pretty much sucked. It seems like our waiter was juggling many tasks. We had to ask for everything or get it ourselves, such as napkins and utensils. And another thing... They should make sure their menus are clean. The menu we had had salsa stains on it.

Chevy's used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant in high school. I loved their flautas, enchiladas, tacos, you name it. Everything is usually good, service is good, but I think I'm tired of it. Everything is old news to me by now. I know they usually come out with a new dish every few months but they're all starting to look the same.

One thing you can't beat are their but one get one for $3.99 coupons though!

If you LOVE mexican food, this is your spot!
RAVEN the bartender is AWSOME. Pina Colada Margaritas are the BEST here. I judge a good Mexican resturant by their chips and salsa, and I haven't found a place that can beat Chevy's chips and Salsa. I've come here JUST for the chips and salsa and have become addicted. Oh yess.... I always get their Nachos grande just the way I like it Chips, cheese, red sauce and beans, usually comes with a meat ( chicken, sour cream guacamole...)

HAPPY HOUR IS THE BOMB here and LASTS for HOURS...

Chevy's! You are my favorite happy hour destination!

Best fruit margaritas I've tasted, and its even better at Happy Hour with Happy Hour prices!!! Hours are from 3-7 Mon-Fri. All Margaritas are 3 dollars, and fruit ones are 3.50! So good! Certain appetizers are half off and seating is by the bar and that small area next to it only. When it's packed seating is first come first serve basis.

Mango Margarita is definitely my favorite. (Even though I take 3 sips, get seriously red and give it away). I love their flautas too.. esp dipped in their sauce. In the words of Russell Peters, "Is best bro!"
