It's July 3rd and our company cafeteria is closed all week. So what are we to do for lunch? Well a bunch of us went here today.
No wait at all, a nice bright interior (there was a lot of sunlight in from the glass storefront), so the dining room seemed a lot cheerier than the Chili's in Avon I'm more familiar with.
Our server was upbeat and friendly. She was quick with the chips and drink refills. I had a Santa Fe salad with some minor changes on dressings and no tortilla strips - and the dish was prepared exactly the way I asked for it. Nice broiled chicken, fresh greens and pico, excellent salsa on top.
So what was the verdict? Well, we had quick service, a tasty meal, six separate checks calculated without an eye roll or any attitude. Everythiing was good.
A solid "A-OK".
The food at this Chili's is consistently good, this location is a bit quieter than the one in Manchester. Â We've been here for lunch and had burgers more than once. Â I can't seem to order anything but the Monterrey chicken for dinner. Â It's so good it's the only thing I get here, time and time again. Â Broccoli is steamed fresh. Â No need for an appetizer, they give you enough for your entree. Â My boyfriend enjoys the 6 oz. steak on most visits, they cook it right every time, which puts a smile on both our faces. Â The server stands there while he checks his steak to make sure it's perfect. Â Great service.
Review Source:This place isn't great but it isn't for lack of trying. I think with every Chili's you need to take it with a grain a salt. Â The service staff is friendly but the service is pretty slow. Â Both times I have gone here the food is probably the worst part, the bathrooms are seemingly never cleaned. Â The bar area is usually fairly dead compared to most bars.
Review Source:I've been to the Windsor Chili's a few times now and am quite happy with the food, drinks and service. Every time I've gone in I've felt well taken care of, and recently have begun using their chili's to go service for take out. The very first time, my southern smokehouse burger (so good!) had some toppings I requested be left off of it included (which of course I did not realize until I was home). I called back to complain, as I was disappointed and had settled in and did not want to go back. I was immediately given a manager to speak to who put my name and contact info into their system and credited me for a free entree of my choice for take out or dine in. I really appreciated and was impressed with the up front service and will definitely be coming back to this Chili's again in the future.
Review Source:One thing I miss since I've moved to LA is chain restaurants, they're few and far between out here. So, the first place I went when I got off the plane in CT was Chili's! ;-) Our server was great and a great sport. (I had taken the red eye flight and was running on 2 hours of airplane sleep, so we may have been a little unruly.) He joked around with us, answered all of our menu questions and made some excellent recommendations. The drinks were delicious and the food was spectacular, and I was able to modify my meal to make it vegan (I got veggie fajitas), which I appreciated.
Review Source:So far as the food is concerned, a Chili's is a Chili's is a Chili's. Â The food is your standard, high calorie fare. Â It's greasy, and it tastes good... when they cook it to order. Â I've had multiple issues when ordering beef; rare is medium, medium rare is medium...
I could look past that, without a problem, if the service wasn't bad. Â If you only have an hour for lunch, I'd avoid this location - the bar at least. Every time we go it takes 15 minutes to get our order taken, regardless of the volume of clients, and another 40 minutes to get our food. Â I'm not sure if it's the server or the grill because it's come out both hot and warm, depending on the day. Â
On the plus side, they have a lunch club which gives you a free meal after you purchase five.
