This place is totally outstanding. Â I grew up in Fort Wayne and my family ate here at least once every two weeks. Â Never a bad meal. Â Egg Rolls are the best I have ever had! Â Prices were excellent and egg drop soup....must be their own recipe... Â you start to crave! Â If your near this place, you've got to dine here!
Review Source:I was totally craving Chinese food the other day, so we drove out to China Palace. Â Our GPS got us there via a truly insane route (added nearly 10 minutes to the drive), I was well and truly starving. Â The fried-appetizer-loving part of me didn't mind so much because it gave me a good excuse to order an appetizer!
We started off with the crab rangoons. Â These were very, very tasty. Â I don't think it is just the hunger talking either. Â Really liked these. Â Hot, crisp, and not too greasy. Â
Our entrees came with soup so I got the egg drop soup and the hubby got the hot and sour soup. Â I didn't like the egg drop soup - it was a little too yolky for my tastes. Â But my husband loved it (he normally doesn't like egg drop soup). Â I liked the hot and sour soup better than my husband, so we just switched:) Â It was pretty good, but I couldn't eat it all.
I got the mu shu pork. Â It was pretty good, very smokey in flavor. Â The plum sauce was served cold on the side. Â Came with rice. Â My disappointment: Came wrapped in flour tortillas. Â I'm used to building my own with the thin little pancakes. Â The tortillas were a little heavy for me, so I just pulled the meat out and ate with the rice.
Hubby got the Mongolian beef. It also had a nice smokey flavor. He really enjoyed it and put a good dent into it. Â We had plenty of left overs to take home with us. Â
They serve almond cookies along with the fortune cookies.
I think all staff members we interacted with were members of the family. Â They were very nice and packed up our to-go boxes for us. Â Service was a touch slow, but we weren't in a hurry. Â I don't think we will order the same things next time, but we will be back to try something else.
Your next fortune cookie will tell you that you should have gone to China Palace!!
The food: plentiful, delicious, hot.  But the price: wow!
We have never, ever been disappointed!  The family that runs this is very conscientious of their patrons and their waitstaff is quick and efficient.  The hot and sour soup is excellent, the eggrolls could be consumed a dozen at a time, and whatever the special is will never disappoint! Â
This is worth the drive out to the south side!
