This place is the worst buffet I have ever been to in Bakersfield, we went on a Sunday since my husband likes oysters and the last time we went was five years ago so I wanted to check it out.  We were seated quickly got our drinks, the lemonade was super sweet so I mixed it with my husbands iced tea then we served ourselves, the selection is varied including american and the usual americanized chinese fare and some sushi which is what I tried first now I never expect great sushi at buffets but every other one I had previously gone to had decent sushi,at  this place the sushi was mostly stuffed with canned tuna... wtf?  I tried all the options and was not pleased.  The rest of the food was very bland and tasteless, I did like their coconut shrimp, eggrolls, and potstickers, the whole hour we were there the oysters were brought out once and quickly disappeared because they only brought out like ten my husband only got 4 and the oyster were mediocre compared to the huge ones I have seen at other buffets, to top it all off they charged me almost $6 for my 3yr. old daughter who only ate a slice of pizza... ridiculous.  Sorry China Star but you will never get another $30 from this girl again!
Review Source:The selection was amazing, the price was good for a Buffet, but if I was blind folded and forced to guess where I was eating I would guess a school cafiteria. Everything was super bland and genertic tasting. It had that TV dinner vibe going on.
As much as I would love to go here more often because I live so close...i'm not
The food looks fresh and delicious. Â As far as taste goes, the only complaint I have is the chow mein. Â It was cold and I didn't like the texture. Â Everything else was fresh compared to most china buffets I've been to. Â Oh and I need to comment on the chicken wrapped in foil. Â It was flavorful but I don't think it was chicken. Â I think I would call it a "meat" wrap because it was definately meat. Â It was good but I was afraid to eat it because I don't know what it was. Â The fact that I call it "meat" makes me think of dog food because the lower grade stuff lists "meat" rather than specifying "chicken", "beef", or "lamb". Â Or how about "mystery meat wrapped in foil".
I don't think I'd come here again, not because I didn't like, I'd just rather try something new in hopes of finding something better.
Okay so there are a few things that are good...but nothing special. Â Lucky we caught the happy hour which is 1:30 to 3p...and we snuck out under $14. Â And, I must say that everything was still amazingly fresh.....the rotisserie cut chicken was yum and the hubby liked the 'seafood doughnut'. Â But, I don't think we'll be back anytime too soon.
Review Source:Very good selection of food and reasonably priced. Service was fast and efficient. The food tasted very good. I did not find anything I did not like. The steam tables were replenished almost continuously. The place  was clean and had modern decor. Waitstaff continuously clean my table of used plates. I like the aluminum foil wrapped stuffed chicken.
Review Source:I had an internship in Bakersfield this past summer, and my co-workers and I would always go there for its happy hour. Â Sometimes we had to wait (5 min ish) to be seated during the happy hour because the deal was so good. Â The food during happy hour is always fresh and the servers are very nice. Â Highly recommended.
Review Source:I like this place. Cheap and ok service. Last time i was there the Fried food section was old and you could taste it was old. Â The waiter asked me if I wanted more water and brought me a dirfy cup half filled with water. I didnt' drink that. Â But that was the only bad experience I had there and I will probably go back.
Review Source:I went to this place thinking it was gonna be good but the moment I walked in I knew I was wrong. From the atmostphere to the food it was not what I expected. The seating was terrible and the restrooms were a nightmare with running over toilets and trash all on the ground. The only thing good I could say about this buffet was the ice cream was excellent. But that's about it.
Review Source:Definitely a fan of this place. I bought a house out here in bakersfield so I'm here every weekend and except for maybe two times I've come here every sunday for the past three months or so.
They have a variety of food from pizza, ribs, fried shrimp, teriyaki chicken, sushi, crab legs as well as a salad bar and desserts. I think the food is great and its priced well. Party of four comes out to about 46 bux I believe. They have waiters going around to take your empty plates away and they are very attentive to refilling your drink when your almost done with it.
I'd say its definitely a place worth checkin out.
