Totally great - I've got no criticisms whatsoever of the food or the service here. Â Went in for dinner w/ three adults and two children. Â Between us we had the seafood sampler for an appetizer, and a scallop salad, lobster roll, and a broiled local bluefish that were on special. Â Everything was fantastic. Â The menu is enormous but they seem to pull everything off. Â Really really impressed.
Review Source:I had one lunch at this restaurant and got sick from it. Â Even if I didn't get ill, i don't think I would come back because of the low quality of the food and the high price. Â
The salmon sandwich was mediocre and not worth the price. It also had wayyyy too much tartar sauce on it so that it ooozed out every side and made a mess. The french fries are horrible -- they have some sort of tater-tot-like coating.
On the positive side: the multiple sides offered on sandwich platters is nice. And the waiters were very attentive and quick.
You would be better off going to one of the nearby deli, pizza or other seafood places.
We were in RI for four days and ate here twice. Â Best lobster roll, of 4 places we tried in the area, and everything else was delicious. Â I had scallops florentine and ate every bite, even all the pasta. Perfect, light sauce. Â Friendly and efficient service, and we had 2 kids, 4 and 2 years old, who were happy with their meals also. Â If I were going back to Jamestown, I would eat here for every meal!
Review Source:This place was totally mediocre from the food to the service to the cleanliness of the bathroom. I couldn't believe how expensive the food was given its quality, but I guess that is what you get for a tourist destination. The lobster bisque had chunks of heavy cream in it that you sort of had to chew. Super gross! My salad had weak spinach, but the scallops were outstanding. Really, the scallops were the highlight of the entire meal. The clam cakes came out without any sort of dipping sauce and they desperately needed it. We had to ask for multiple water refills, and it took our waitress more than 10 minutes to come to the table when we arrived. So, definitely a 2-star sort of experience.
Review Source:My favorite dinner restaurant in town. Great seafood dishes. The off-season $29.95 dinner for two special is a terrific value. The staff is friendly and attentive. Be sure to try the calamari appetizer. It is not your typical red sauce version. It comes surrounded by olives, peppers, and lemon, no red sauce in sight. I'm told you can have the sauce if you want it, but who wants it? The desserts are really good too.
Review Source:I love this restaurant - and not only because I had my first job here.
Delicious and super-fresh seafood - frequently, whatever you are eating came off a fishing boat that very day.
House specialties: stuffed quahogs (unique Rhode Island delicacy), spicy fried calamari with olives and jalapenos, chowder (clear or creamy, I prefer the creamy) and clamcakes, the seafood au gratin, steamed clams, and, of course, steamed lobster! Order fish if you come here - otherwise, you are missing out!
The staff is super-friendly and many of them have been working here for years.
The only reason I subtract one star is because they do not take reservations and the wait can be very long for dinner on summer nights!
