In a word TERRIBLE!! Awful food, horrible service, pathetic management. Cindy should be ASHAMED!!

We had our 37th anniversary (7/10/13) dinner at Cindy Pawlcyn's and it was great.  We were looking for a casual but quality restaurant that wasn't all Napa Valley fluff  yet had a menu that's different and that's what we got. Perfect to sit on the outside patio on a warm evening, impeccable service, and very unique dishes prepared to perfection; steamed mussels, calamari, eggplant fries, and you have to try the glazed pork belly appetizer.  Leave room for a dessert!!

A special shout out to Jonathan the manger for making food recommendations and his attentiveness.  Like I said, a low key, quality dining experience, excellent food and a cut above without gouging the wallet.  BTW we didn't leave hungry

This place is very tasty! The heirloom tomato salad is fabulous, the steamed oysters were different and wonderful, as was the ketchup for the onion rings! Also, the wine prices are super reasonable. The reason this is not 5 star is because it was VERY cold in there, to the point we were going to leave, and it took us asking 4-5 times if the air could be turned down.  There were only 2 other couples in there at the time, so it's not like it was packed and they were trying to keep it cool.

If I could give no stars I would. Other than waiting 20 minutes for the waitress to come back after initially greeting us, what can I say? That the Margarita Pizza arrived stone-cold? That in a blind taste test I couldn't distinguish it from a Trader Joe's boxed pizza (even when it was warmed up)? That it tasted like tomato flavored cardboard with gnarly burnt basil sprinkled on top? Yes, the manager came and took the pizza off the bill, the least he could do. His affect reminded me of Lurch in the Adams Family. But even this reduced rate was a perfunctory gesture after this disaster of a dining experience. There are so many fabulous choices in Napa Valley; my suggestion would be to avoid this place like the plague

We really like all of Cindy Pawlcyn's other restaurants so decided to try this one.  Big mistake.  It must be a Cindy imposter who runs this one.  Probably the worst service we have ever had.  It was a good half hour between sitting down and having a server arrive, only to disappear for another half hour before taking our order,  Excuse was "lots of people coming at once" and "drama in the kitchen".  When the meal arrived after 1 1/2 hours, the pizza appeared to be direct from Trader Joe's and was cold.  The server and manager did offer to replace it with somehting else but we needed to be out of there before midnight.  With all of the choices in the Napa Valley, Cindy will need to do much better than this to make it with this restaurant.  And this is one of the few negative reviews I have ever written.  Go find Cindy!

My husband and I had lunch here today. The service was great and the food was delicious.  The owner/chef also owns Mustards and Cindy's Backstreet Cafe. We were able to get right in without in wait. No regrets!

For you Wine Country first-timers who have been told to go to Cindy's more well-known restaurant, Mustards, don't!  Keep driving on 29 and stop here instead.  When I went to Mustards several years ago, I was let down, not because of the food, but the atmosphere.  A somewhat small restaurant, tables practically on top of each other, and NOISY!  Nothing ruins a meal more for me than constantly having to say "what?" to my friends and not being able to hear my own thoughts.

SO, it was with a bit of hesitation that I decided to try CP's Wood Grill.  It TOTALLY blew Mustards out of the water!  Firstly, It's a much, much larger space, which made navigating in a wheelchair very easy (Mustards can be a challenge).  The space is light and open, and the noise level was just perfect.

As for the food, well, just take everyone's advice and order the eggplant fries as an app.  Light, crisp, not bitter, not greasy.  Oh, and for folks who are in need of gluten free, these are made with rice flour, so have at them!  Entrees are wonderful, and are well-portioned.  I had the short ribs in a chocolate chile sauce over polenta with arugula and red pepper salad. Deliciousness!  The meat was super tender and flavorful (though lacking a bit of a kick I was hoping for), and I didn't even need a knife.

Be sure to save room for dessert - it was an extremely hot day, and their offerings of adult milkshakes sounded too amazing to pass up.  I had the chocolate bourbon shake, which was absolutely fantastic!

I also want to say that the service was also exceptional.  Our server was really wonderful, offering great recommendations, answering questions, and very attentive (without being annoying).

This is a great space if you have a larger party, and they also have a nice outdoor patio space.

    I will definitely be back.

I took a group of 15 to Napa for some team building and wine tasting.  This was our dinner stop before heading back to the Bay Area.  With people from so many countries and time zones, we chose to eat around 6 pm and the dinner crowd was just rolling in.  Overall, a very nice location, decoration is pleasing, modern and not overwhelmingly "wine country".  We had several starters including oysters, eggplant fries, calamari and plates were cleared!  The eggplant fries were delicious!  Could have been oil-laden but weren't!  I had the risotto special with chorizo, which was flavorful but not a mushy oatmeal like mess.  Very nice!  The Dad's potato chips, regular fries and mashed potatoes put us in potato heaven coma.  Several people had the coffee baby back ribs, which they stated were tasty but not much coffee flavor.. Those who ordered the shortrib also enjoyed it. I'm a big fan of Mustard's so it is nice to see this place also have some wonderful dishes.  Can't wait to come back!  I would have given five stars, but for a large group, we did have a while to wait in between courses and even then, there was some awkward delay with some entrees coming.

My wife and I walked in and sat at the bar for a drink and a quick bite. The restaurant only had a few people in it and the bar had 3 other people sitting there. We sat there for several minutes before we could distract the bartender away from chatting with (who was obviously) a couple friends. She handed us a couple menus, never offered us a drink and went back to talking with her friends. It would be one thing if their conversation sounded important, but it was trivial chit chat.

Fast forward another five minutes and we got annoyed and walked out.

If you're in the mood to be ignored, head on over to Cindy Pawicyn's.

It just ok.  Not impressed with the menu selection. Stopped for a late lunch. Others reviewers mention menu items not available on the menu we had. The quality of food was good. Service is ok. Not great. We were not impressed. The hostess was not welcoming. Not feeling the décor.. We probably will not return.

We came for a late lunch on a Saturday. There were 4 people and everyone enjoyed all the food and beverages.  There was  Drunken Blue Burger, fish of the day, pizza of the day, a crab roll, calamari appetizer and the onion rings. The service was very good and the restaurant was very clean.

Experience for the most part was horrible.   Starting off with the woman who seemed to have NO clue on seating people.  She was also extremely rude.  I am a local and not a tourist who she clearly thought we were.  We waited for a cocktail for 15 minutes.  One entree was the sole which was probably 3oz if that and was burnt.    My chicken salad was the worst I have ever eaten.   It was dry and to charge 15.00 for  a salad that had 5 oz of chicken and nothing else is a total rip off.   Only good thing was our server who was very sweet.

Food was very delicious. We got there earlier then the dinner rush so it was nice to take in the restaurant without all the commotion that would soon start. There was a party of ladies there before us that seem to be doing the same thing. We also made it on Vinter's night when a local producer walks around promoting their wine with a free tasting for patrons.

The only down side was that I found a bug in my salad. The waitress was very nice about it. She took it back and gave me a new salad, but how do you not take that off the bill as a courtesy? It's a bug!

Would I try it again...yes. All the dishes we had great flavor and were well prepared, aside from the bug in the salad. So yes we would give it another try...to make sure it is consistent, the next time we are in the area.

It was good, very quiet, great patio. Always kind of a red flag when a place is dead on a bright beautiful Sunday afternoon 4-21-13 around 2ish..

The most disturbing part of our lunch was an employee, assuming it was a server stood over the couple at the next table (I assume she knew them) and talked the entire time while the rest of the wait staff was busting tail to take care of other tables. Maybe she was off? but WTF do you stand over someone for over 30 minutes as they eat there lunch, talking in FULL WHITE TRASH mode about your problems.

EVEN WORSE, the meek Manager stood and watched her do this.

$18 for a crab sandwich should have been served with fries or salad, not chips.
$5 for chips and dip made from powder?
    $15 for a burger

YES I can afford it, but for these prices I don't like loud white trash 10 feet away from me complaining about her little pathetic life.

Sorry Cindy, fire your weekend daytime Manager and maybe we will be back.

Our waitress that day was very kind but we could feel the tension.

We had our wedding Thank You lunch at cindy pawlcyn's last October for almost 80 guests. Arranging the lunch was not the most pleasant experience as Christine who was in charge did not seemed engaged and had to be reminded a few times to send me the updated family style menu. Her emails were curt and she was not there on the day of the lunch either. We all agreed the quality of the food was good. Everything was rather delicious and the ambience was lovely. Unfortunately, the food took FOREVER to come, the lunch started at 1pm but entrees did not arrive till 3pm!! Many of our guests had to make their way back to the city and so didn't get to enjoy all the courses. This was definitely annoying! They also failed to bring a few dishes altogether to our table (bride and groom and our families!!!). I was unhappy with their slow service and didn't think we should be paying full fee since so many guests left and food was left untouched! We kicked up a fuss and they agreed to remove charges for the number of people who left. That's all well and good but they really should get their act together when it comes to good service. it was our day after wedding Thank You lunch for our guests who came from all over the world and I was definitely not impressed!

My friends and I went for an early dinner after our wine tastings around 5 so there wasn't too many people. We shared the fried calamari that was ok, the sauce was a little sweet and I wish the calamari had a little more flavor and spiciness. Entrees we had the hanger steak, the ribs, and I had the pork chops. We were pleased with our meals for the most part. The hanger steak was a little on the smaller side and it was  a little burnt on the edges. The pork chop was cooked well, very moist, I wish there was a little more sauce to it. The garlic mashed potatoes didn't have too much flavor either and the texture felt like instant mashed potatoes from a box. My asparagus was a little over cooked as well. My friends and I were really hungry so we didn't really mind these issues.
Unfortunately problem did rise when we wanted to eat one of our baked goods from a nearby bakery. We didn't see signs or anything that said we can't bring outside food and the waitress even thought it was a birthday and offered us plates and candles. Little did we know that we were going to be charged a cake cutting fee for $7.50. Mind you that they only gave us plates and we did the cutting on our one piece of cake ourselves, there was no serving of any sort. When the bill came we asked why we weren't informed of the fee before we asked for plates and we were told that it was standard for all restaurants to charge a fee for outside foods and we as customers should have asked about it. From my experience, restaurants inform me about the fee if they see us with outside food or they have it labeled somewhere. The manager eventually took out the fee for us and told us that most restaurants usually charge more for their service fee to compensate for losing money for the dessert we could have ordered from their restaurant. To clarify, we did want additional dessert along with the once piece of cake we brought, but there was no dessert on the menu. The menu was never brought to us when we asked for it.
So overall, the food was good. Service was still good. I would probably try other restaurants when I come back to Napa.

I live in Napa and it's a tough place to run a restaurant. If it's not great, there are so many other options. In fact, there are 3 places in Yountville alone that I like: Bouchon, Bottega and Redd. I like Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen, so I thought I would try the latest iteration of this location.

The restaurant looks fine. No huge plus or minus. But nothing that was unique, unlike Cindy's Backstreet. We were there on a fairly busy Saturday night and the service was lackluster. We had asked for bread and it didn't arrive. When we inquired about it, the waitress said that she was going to bring it out when the first course was served. Usually, it comes while one is waiting for the first course. Ordering itself  was quite a wait and we had to flag down a host before the waitress came back.

The mixed greens salad was nothing special. I then had sole almondine. It was simply bland and a bit over-cooked. My companion also had the sole and she asked for more lemons - only one small wedge was served - because she thought it really had no flavor.

Was the meal terrible? Of course not. But nothing special and no real reason to go back. Press is just down the road and Farmstead is literally across the street. I think that both would be better options.

On a recent first visit here I was thoroughly impressed with the menu as well as the recommendations offered by our waitress.

    Eggplant Fries were incredible.  4/5

Started off with these, which were back by popular demand and recommended by our waitress.  Really impressed with these guys.  The batter was light, airy and very crispy.  Eggplant usually absorbs a lot of oil and tends to get soggy, but these fries were delicious!

I ordered the Braised Short Ribs, while my mother ordered the Rosemary Chicken.

    Both dishes were really good.

Short Ribs fell a little short for me.  3.5/5

The meat was tender and flavorful.  The portion was a fair size.  The caramelized onions, carrots, and garlic mash were great compliments to the dish.  It just wasn't something that I would normally order, but maybe my expectations were just too high.  Again, nothing wrong with the dish, just fell a little short with my expectations.

If I were to state the downfall of this dish it would be the texture.  Everything is a little too mashy.

Rosemary Chicken was pretty amazing!  4.5/5

Half chicken butterflied and pan seared skin side down till golden brown and crispy.
Need I say more?  Yes, the sauce made from what I presume to be the drippings with butter, thyme, shallots, lemon zest and maybe Cindy will fill in the blanks?  Ha!  And just to tie everything together the Brussels Sprouts, Bacon and Fingerling potatoes finish it off.

There really wasn't anything displeasing about this dish.  The chicken may have been a little dry for my liking, but only marginally.  The bitterness of the sprouts in combination with the salty, oily bacon is great!  I'd say this was a complete entrée.  Good Protein to starch ratio.  Great textures.  There was a creamy, salty, sweet, acidic element to the dish.

Overall I was very satisfied with CP's wood grill.  Will return again soon~!

During my first-ever trip to Napa, I was overwhelmed by the culinary choices. Would we have a fabulous high-end lunch in Yountville? Would we wind up covered in delicious grease at Kott's Roadside? Or would we (somehow) make it all the way back to our Union Square hotel, soaked in Chardonnay, Cabernet, and an unnatural desire for Jack-in-the-Box?

These questions quickly dissolved upon the first whiff of the woodfire grill.  Suddenly, no other options existed in the world. And, two wine club sign-ups into the afternoon, this may have been the smartest choice I made all day.

Cindy Pawlcyn's looks and feels high-end from the parking lot, but once you're seated comfortably in one of the banquette booths with their impressive wine list and menu, you'll feel better than you have in a Napa hour.  Our server was funny, friendly, and not forcing it, something I appreciate from staff at a crossover restaurant that can flex up into fancy and flex down into casual depending on the clientele, time of day, and mood of the moment.  He took great care to make sure we not only had everything we needed, but knew where we were going next and what "not to be missed" spots we should consider on our way home.

Our table enjoyed a wide array of homegrown, hand-crafted entrees, including a duck pasta dish, a wine-infused steakburger, and a massive flatbread pizza with locally grown produce.  To say our lunch was remarkable would be an understatement.  It was a work of art.

Thanks to Cindy Pawlcyn and her team for making our Napa day trip memorable. We'll definitely be back on our next voyage into wine country!

Top notch - solid five stars for food and service. Great wine by the glass and double kudos for Bulleit Rye. Lamb penne was outstanding as was Mahi Mahi with balsamic reduction. I'm a food snob and bigger snob when it comes to service. Both were stellar.

Went for lunch again on 1/19/13. Same great burger, but added bacon this time. While the bacon was delicious, I wouldn't order it again because I always order burgers without buns, and the bacon is too hard to cut and eat with burger bites. Our server, Becca, was delightful, and more than tolerant of my high maintenance ordering. Jen, the bartender, not only made me the perfect lemon drop to my specifications, but she seemed to delight in doing so (it helped that the bar was dead at the time--I wouldn't have asked otherwise). The freebie olives tasted much more like olives with a hint of cumin, rather than the opposite, which is a great improvement over our first visit. The garlic aioli was far less garlicky--probably a wise decision geared for the mainstream population, but I preferred the garlic overdose of the previous visit. It could benefit from a squeeze of lemon, but I think most food and drink do, so I'm biased. My friend's tamale had a delicious red sauce, but, as I find with almost all tamales, was waaaaay more masa and not much filling (though the filling was tasty, with a good hit of heat). He thought the radish added a lot to the dish, but is a strong enough flavor that it should be listed on the menu. I avoided it. The short rib was falling apart, fork tender and delicious, as were the accompanying root vegetables. The "garlic" mashed potatoes didn't seem garlicky to me (okay, perhaps I'm a little immune at this point), but they didn't taste like much to my friend either, and he's not a garlic junky. They could have used more seasoning overall. In fact, I think a better option might be to stay with the roasted root vegetable theme and serve roasted fingerlings, maybe with some thyme sprigs and whole cloves of roasted garlic, instead of mashed potatoes. Oh, and Becca told us where we could find the recipe for the wonderful eggplant fries on the web. She rocks.

This place might be my new go to in St. Helena (replacing my sorely missed Martini House).

We weren't Go Fish fans and we missed the last iteration of Cindy's restaurants (Brassica) in this spot, since it came and went so quickly...but we're pleased that our CP's experience was more on par with what we know and love at Cindy's Backstreet.  Hopefully third time is a charm and we can have a long term relationship with two of Cindy's restaurants in St. Helena.

The super stars were the oysters, the marinated olives that they were serving to all the tables, hubby's "turf" from the surf and turf special of the day and the very personable waiter.  If I didn't have to severely limit my shellfish intake due to an allergy, I would have just ordered several more oysters and a bowl a soup.  Instead I had the hearty dinner sized Cobb Salad.  I thought the tangy greens really counterbalanced all the blue cheese, bacon and other goodies.  It was good.  And so big I didn't finish.

Mr. M enjoyed his surf (lobster) and turf (steak) served with perfectly and simply cooked sauteed spinach.  He said the steak was phenomenal, but the lobster not too impressive.  It was certainly more than enough protein on one plate, but if you are looking for a big piece of steak, this was not it.

Young master enjoyed his burger and fries, though I swiped a fry and considered it a downgrade from what he's had in the past at Cindy's Backstreet.  The dessert he chose, and we shared, was one we like to call "worth it."  A dark chocolate creme brulee with a bit of ice cream on top.

We like that we can order wines here by the carafe as well as the glass/bottle.  Our dinner for three came to roughly $150, but like Cindy's Backstreet, this would certainly be a spot you could belly up to the bar and enjoy something small and delicious for less.  Overall another welcome addition to the SH dining scene.

The first thing that I can say about St. Helena is that there is a number of restaurants to choose from, which did not make it easy to choose. On this occasion, we chose Cindy Pawlcyn's Wood Grill, and in the end, we were very happy with our choice. We were pleasantly surprised how extensive and diverse is their wine list. The waiter was very helpful and patient with our questions about the list. He provided a couple of great pairings with our dinner. The evening started with the Beer Steamed Pei Mussels (With shallots, brandy, crème fraîche & grilled bread), which was delicious. Dinner included the Crispy Pork Cutlet w/ John's Tonkatsu Sauce and Pancetta Wrapped Grilled Quail. The quail was magnificent and highly recommend.

Mustard's reeled us in. CP's Wood Grill and Wine Bar solidified our love for Cindy.

I've been a diner at Mustard's since 2000, and this time, we were looking for something quintessential Napa/Sonoma and ended up here at noon. The restaurant was nicely buzzing, not too busy and whilst we were waiting for our table, CP stopped in to her restaurant.

Nice to see the staff and service doing well. Server, runners and even the attending manager stopped by to see that everything was going as well as expected.

We ENJOYED our wine, our food, our service...EVERYTHING. It was so good that we stayed about 2 hours into our meal, canceling some winery visits because we were having such a nice time.

    Food standouts:
Eggplant Fries - everything you want in deep-fried eggplant and a special, cooling dip
Little Gem Lettuces - the simple things in life will "wow" you. This is one of them
Grilled Ribeye Steak - the epitome of American steak. Cooked to order and with so much flavour

One last thing: We were about to skip dessert until my uncle, who was in America for the first time in 12 years, said, "I am not going to leave without an American dessert." We ordered the Chocolate Layer Cake. Now, I'm not a big fan of sweet dessert or chocolate for that matter, but WOW. this chocolate cake could convert even the most extreme. I had one bite. Then two. Then I wanted to order another one for myself.

    Service, food and ambiance perfection.

Good (not great) food, painful service - 3.5 stars

We were here early on a Thursday evening and the place was almost deserted. Perhaps that's why the bartender/waiter was so intrusive. I am not exaggerating when I say that he absolutely could NOT take a hint when to leave, and interrupted us no less than 10 times. We were having a serious conversation with a family member that he made more difficult. It would have been comical had the subject of our discussion not been so serious.

The food was good. I had the rib eye, which was cooked just right and very flavorful. It came with red-wine shallot butter, Maytag blue cheese and thin-cut fries (frites). The Rosemary chicken came with mashed potatoes a roasted tomato and (over) grilled corn on the cob. The lamb mixed grill had an interesting variety of cuts, with tasty spices. The quality of the ingredients was excellent, and the prices are in line with Napa Valley (pricey).

The restaurant's modern decor is marred by a television at the bar. The patio looks nice, but was closed for a video shoot when we arrived.

Overall, the food was good, but expensive. But the service was so painfully intrusive that I'd think twice before going back.

The wife and I love Mustard's, which is also a Cindy Pawlcyn restaurant.
In fact, it is our favorite restaurant in Napa/Sonoma counties.

So we had to try this one.

From the outside, very unimpressive.  Really.  Probably not someplace I would stop, if I didn't know who Cindy Pawlcyn was.

The interior is pretty nice, though.  There are still signs of it having been Cindy's fish restaurant, but they serve fish here too, so...

The server was nice, the food was very good.  The menu actually has food I will eat, which is rare in these parts.

The server was talking with us, and the next table got up and left, abruptly.  We suspect they were Republicans, and overheard the server discussing Obama with us.

I could overlook the exterior, but they lose a point for prices.  A little high.

Nonetheless, I bought a Bloomspot deal, so I will be back...

I really enjoyed dining here. It is one of those all-occasion type places where you can go to celebrate and dress up or just have a more casual dinner. The ambience is very nice, quite, dim, comfortable, rustic.

The started us with a little amuse bouche, not sure if that is standard or they did it just for us. Not that it was fantastic but it was a nice touch to the experience. We also ordered chips and guacamole which was very good, surprising to have guacamole there but if you love it then you should get it. The chips are a tiny bit spicy as they add red pepper flakes, just the right amount and easy to brush off if you don't want them.

After ordering cocktails, which were fabulous, we had our main courses. The risotto of the day - tasty with lots of vegetables, and was cooked well - something many restaurants are not good at. We ordered the polenta to share along with two other dishes - fish of the day, which was salmon. A little overcooked but still good and seasoned well. The other dish was the roasted chicken with veggies, cooked to perfection and great taste. I would certainly order it again.

We were so stuffed by the end that we couldn't fathom having dessert although the selections looked amazing.

The only downside was slightly slow service but I have found that to be the case in all of my experiences at Cindy's restaurants. It's nice to enjoy your time but when you're hungry, you don't always feel like waiting forever, and it took awhile to get our check. Other than that, good all around and we will certainly go back.

Meh.  Two of us went last weekend for a very late lunch after a tasting.  Service was....less than enthusiastic.  It took forever for the waiter to arrive at our table (and there were only a handful of customers at the time), forever for our drinks to come - they were refreshing, some sort of cucumber vodka concoction.  I asked the waiter if I could have cheese on the burger and he replied "Cindy's from cheese country, you don't even need to ask!"  Well alrighty then.  After the lackluster baby lettuce salad course, he brought out our entrees.  My burger was not exactly sizzling hot, and guess what? no cheese.  My friend had a soup and sandwich combo that he was pleased with.   Overall, it wasn't horrible, but we wouldn't go back or recommend.

Ms. Pawlcyn, whom I've always liked and admired, was in the house, so it's not like she's not overseeing quality and service.

I'll keep it simple. I LOVE THIS NEW CONCEPT. I had mushroom blue cheese burger at lunch with THE BEST onion rings I have ever had in MY LIFE. I also really enjoyed the fact I could have 2 different half glasses of wine instead of choosing just one. I had Rock Syrah and Barber cab. Both awesome and suggested by the manager. Ya I have wine and burgers for lunch, thats how we do it in the wine biz. High five Cindy P.

Also, bartender Mary was great too. I dined alone and it was nice to have someone so nice and friendly to talk to. I cant wait to recommend this place to all my guests in our tasting room. I already send alot of people to Cindys other restaurants because they are awesome!!!

Tourists and locals. Dont miss this place!!!

I was completely non-impressed with Cindy Pawlcyn's Wood Grill.   My wife and I ate lunch here yesterday with my sister-in-law and her husband.   We walked in at about 1 PM and, despite the dining room being pretty empty, were asked to wait about 15 minutes since we wanted to eat inside.   We used the opportunity to grab a drink at the bar where the bartender did a great job suggesting a wine we might all enjoy drinking.   We went with the Frank Family Vineyard Chardonnay which was indeed a great choice.

We decided to share a few appetizers to start:  onion rings, squash blossoms and shrimp.   All  three appetizers were very nice.   For main course, I opted for the mixed lamb grill.  My wife and her sister shared a salad and a grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup.   That dish, actually, was the highlight for me.   I thought my lamb course, at nearly $30, was a total joke.  While the merguez sausage was nice, the 2 other pieces of lamb were ridiculously small.   Worse, the plate came with a large side of grilled zucchini to give the appearance, I assume, of a large generous portion.   The amount of zucchini only served to amplify the smallness of the lamb.   I assure you, I'm not a hardcore meat eater, but I even found the meat to be lacking.

We went to Cindy's Backstreet Kitchen a couple of years back and we loved it.   Our experience at the Wood Grill, however, certainly doesn't inspire me to come back anytime soon.

Patio is a lovely spot. Stuffed squash blossoms lovely as a share plate. Crab salad pretty good. Innovative wine servings with interesting options and serving sizes. Service ok, a little on and off. I felt like I had to keep pleasing them rather than the other way around. But they were certainly knowledgable and professional. The strawberry shortcake was wickedly good. Only disappointment was the onion rings. I was expecting/hoping for the angel hair type I'd had at mustards years ago but they were just "normal" with a heavy and somewhat greasy batter.

Eggplant fries! I mean, the oysters were fab, the roasted veggie enchiladas were great, the squash blossoms....tasty. But those eggplant fries are like tiny hot sticks of butter! Yummo! Impressive wine list with gobs of 2oz tasting prices. Unexpected treat!

Outstanding as always in both food and service. A comfortable place to enjoy a good meal with a friend as I am right now.   1st review too!  Score!
