Always had a great meal here! A great place for adults who want to get away from the children at SBC,Stonebridge, Archies or Colony.

Citrus is VERY GOOD!! I had been here before with friends for drinks, but never had dinner here. 3 friends and I sat at the bar and had wine and dinner. I must say, I was impressed.  It was a little bit on the pricey side, but the food and delicous was very elegantly presented!! I orded the mashed potato pizza and house salad with avocado that came with their house key lime dressing... And it was soo YUMM!! I defintely recommend both those items off the menu and I would definetely go back and have dinner here again!!! Pleasantly surprised :)

Food was just OK. The service was pretty good.

Bar area is huge. Probably a better drinks/apps place vs. a restaurant.

I met a friend at this restaurant on a Friday at 7 PM, without a reservation, and we were seated within 20 minutes.  So that was a plus.

The restaurant is well-decorated/trendy-looking inside.  It was a Friday night so the bar was obviously crowded, but when I walked up to order a glass of wine someone got me within a couple of minutes, so I definitely didn't reach my irritation phase there.  Glass of red wine, $6.50.  A little higher than I'd prefer, but probably typical of a trendy restaurant in downtown Milford.

When we sat down we were starving, so we ordered the tuna tartar appetizer.  It was freaking amazing.  Well-chilled pieces of sushi-grade tuna, with creamy chunks of avocado and super-thin strings of beet on top.  Along the edge of the plate were triangles of fried tortilla.  It was an unbelievably good combination.  I ate it up like I was being paid to do it.

For dinner I ordered the sea bass special: an ultra-flaky piece of sea bass fillet, on top of lobster mashed potatoes, with asparagus and more of those super-thin beet strings.  It was as delicious as it was attractive.

No dessert because we were completely full.  But I was charmed by the fact that, rather than a waiter coming around to make sure our little water glasses were full, each dining table received a carafe of water to refill from.  It's things like that, that set a place apart, I think.

    Highly recommended.

Delicious!!! I love the bar and the overall decor of the restaurant.  The food is diverse and every dish I've ordered has been satisfying. The service is excellent. Always a great pick.

Went here for dinner once and absolutely loved it. It was the perfect blend between a more upscale restaurant and a fun trendy bar. Drinks were on the expensive side but you definitely get what you pay for. After one martini I was a little buzzed. The fresh-baked bread was served with an orange-citrusy butter which was a perfect compliment to the saltiness of the bread. I had the penne vodka which was AMAZING and I always judge restaurants on how they make their penne vodka. Next time I went I got a chicken marsala special. Melted in my mouth. Boyfriend got the filet and he has been dying to go back ever since. Love this place. Definitely an under-rated restaurant.

I reserved 2 tables in the bar for  my sister's 30th bday.  We had a group if 20 and citrus was the perfect place for it. We pre-ordered apps which were great, especially the springrolls. There was a great craft beer selection. There was a lot of room and all of  the staff was amazing!!  I would totally recommend citrus for a party!

I went to this restaurant on recommendation from a patron of another restaurant that we tried to go to, but they were having a private function. My colleague and I walked in and looked around and were happy to see that there were not many people there. We were greeted at the door and told that there would be a 30 minute wait and there was one party ahead of us. We said that we would wait because we were hungry (it appears that a lot of restaurants are closed in Milford on Mondays). We went outside for a few minutes and decided to go back inside to wait. We noted to each other that we didn't see anyone else waiting and how empty the place was. By that time, the young lady came up to us and politely apologized for the wait and then told us that she had just spoken to the chef and found out that the wait was going to be much longer than she originally told us and that "she was sure that we wouldn't want to wait." We asked how long and she told us that it was now a 50 minute wait. She apologized again as she ushered us out of the door. Once we were out, we looked at each other and wondered if we were just dismissed because we are Black. Whether or not that was the case, it appeared that way and we were both offended. Even if that isn't the case, this place needs help.

Everything I've gotten here in the 3 times I've eaten has been excellent. Again, the focus is on nightlife here and I think the food gets unfairly overlooked. Definitely an underrated gem.

The food is OUTSTANDING.  I've been here 3 times and has been impressed with everything I've tried.

However, the waitstaff is not attentive and the atmosphere does not fit the menu at all.

I will go back because of the food and because I know what to expect in terms of service.  However, I will hesitate to reco this place to just anybody due to the poor service and bar atmosphere.

Foods is awesome but little expensive.  The renovations look great.  Great beer selection and staff.

The food was outstanding!  I tried the blackened fish tacos and the scallops.  They also had a wonderful beer selection including one of my favorites:  Delirium Tremens.

I went here once a couple of weeks ago to meet my boyfriend's friends. I was impressed with the staff because we ended up waiting over an hour for his friends to arrive. If I were them, I would have been annoyed, but they were sympathetic and kept us seated. The place wasn't too busy, which helped.

The bread and butter was absolutely delicious, and I could have gorged myself on that alone. When it came time to order dinner, I had linguini with vodka sauce. It was incredible, and weeks later I'm still craving more! The fresh mozzerella was a perfect touch. My boyfriend got the lobster risotto which I managed to steal some of, and that was delicious as well.

The one small downside for me came when it was time for dessert and coffee. The friend ordered her coffee and her boyfriend ordered a dessert. I asked the waitress to bring me a coffee as well, but when the orders came, I didn't get one. I'm not one to make a fuss, though, so I just sat back and waited for everyone else to finish. At least we didn't get charged for it.

    I'll definitely go back.

I had a mediocre first experience at Citrus and decided to give it another go recently. Sadly, I was disappointed. We had five people in our party and were only given one menu. It took nearly 40 minutes to get an appetizer that was undercooked, and while the service was friendly it was extremely slow. Our server was also not very familiar with the menu (didn't recognize certain beers that were clearly served at the bar). While there's potential, they need to be better prepared for busy nights.
The music in the bar area is too loud for conversation and the dining space is a bit cramped. Overall I was underwhelmed.

The boyfriend and I dined at Citrus this past Friday night. Our first impression walking in was that we had stepped into a retirement community. Our young, hip, vibrancy seemed out of place. The decor is modern, but too contrived in my opinion. Too faux moody. I'm generally a big fan of mood lighting. I look hot in mood lighting. But I just didn't dig the vibe. We noticed upon being seated that we were also one of the only couples in the (fairly empty) restaurant. The other could have been my grandparents. Lot's of middle aged ladies having cocktails and complaining about husbands and calories. Nary a male outside of the bar area. I was pleasantly surprised by the menu. Everything sounded fresh and well paired.  We ordered the veggie spring rolls and the crab cakes to start. His spring rolls came with wasabi mashed potatoes that were phenominal. I ate most of them. It's a girlfriend privledge. The spring rolls themselves were nothing special. He thought they tasted just like every other spring roll he's had, which is many. Still, we'd order again for the wasabi mash. My crab cakes were also lackluster, but again, their accompanying avocado, corn and potato salad was great. Tangy and bright. He moved on to the salmon served with lots of dressed greens, a tomato cucumber salsa and a yummy creme fraiche dill sauce. He was a big fan of all but the sauce, but he doesn't know any better. That sauce was delicious. I opted for the seared scallops with cauliflower risotto. Risotto is something that we've all had more bad than good but this one was a winner. My one complaint is that the cauliflower was REALLY roasted. Black in many places. It didn't taste too charred, but was not as visually appealling as it could have been. The scallops were great. It has to be said that the portions here are very generous. There were seven or eight scallops on my plate. Dusted with some sort of spice blend containing fennel seeds which was also how BF's salmon was prepared. An interesting touch. All in all, the food was great. We will probably eat here again. Just maybe not over a weekend when I'm all dressed up ready to show off my new shoes. It's a quiet place to enjoy a delicious meal, definitely not a hang out place.

Oh Citrus!  Never done me wrong!  I love the selection of food and their specials are always a treat!  I'm not so much a fan of mashed potatoes however they always put a spin on them and turn me around!  The atmosphere is always a good time and they offer a deck for nicer weather...I feel a dinner here coming on soon!

Ok....This place is alright in my book...It is a sort of laid back place,,,Comfortable kind of place. The bar has a ridiculous amount of beers from all of the world. Or just have a $2 pint of Bud light....Food is always good...Try their new bar menu...Also the have added new items to the regular menu. Staff and owner real people that can you can chill out with. Thur thru Sat...BAR GETS ROCKING...Nice outdoor patio...And extra lounge area with couches and over sized Comfy chairs....It is one of my reg stops .....Beats over priced places in downtown area any day....

Been back recently, food still is not good. 2 stars for the bar it's decent if I get stuck in Milford. It can get really crowded on a weekend, and it's not huge, so there isn't a lot of room to move. Like I said before, lots of other, better choices.

Fantastic - and what a surprise! While the entrance via the bar and the wine cellar may be a bit off-scale, the restaurant tucked away in back was both trendy and warm.  The menu offered a wide variety of choices and the presentations were terrific.  Best, though, was the food.  We ordered the slow cooked pork stew and the red beans and rice (with Andoullie sausage, shrimp, blackened scallops) and both were exceptional.  Decent wine choices as well.  All Good! We look forward to another visit very soon.

I went here for a work function and was pleasantly surprised.   I don't drink, so bar angle is kind of tough to cover. (Soda sprayer was calibrated right, right amount of Fizz and syrup.)   I though the place had  a pretty cool set up.  Bar in front, mostly lounge style seating.   They had private room off to side, looked like somebodies living room, which I guess would be pretty comfy.  Just to add a third option they have restaurant style seating in the back.to enjoy a meal.  Enclosed Smokers lounge outside  keeps you freezing while you get your nicotine fix.

Again like Jonathan says, it is that transitional bar in between Archie Moore's meat market  and an old alcoholic hang out.   The place seems pretty popular, as we went on a Tuesday night and it was pretty jamming.

I was pretty impressed with the food.  The wings were tasty and crispy.  The calamari was crispy and seemed fresh made.  The spring rolls had a good flavor and snap( not sure why they came with Wasabi mash potatoes, but that was good too).

Overall, I had a good experience, I'd give it a 3.5 stars, but i'll round up to bump up the average.  Cool place to hang out if you only have a few hours to kill before you have to go home and tuck in your kids.

I've been here about 3 times for dinners, and we have mostly enjoyed the food and candlelit dining. The wasabi mashed potatoes are amazing, and the entrees are generous and well-presented. The drinks are good, and they have a good bar scene, especially in the summertime.

    But....

The host and wait staff are lackluster and the service has at times been pitifully slow. The menu has not changed in recent memory, (2 years) and it would be a much better restaurant if it had a more creative chef with a seasonally changing menu. I hope they begin to freshen the menu and incorporate some new flavors and selections, and certainly hope the staff steps up to make the dining experience a better one.

I've always wondered, why on earth is this place named Citrus? There are no limes just lying around the joint.

The other day my softball team went down there to celebrate the win, there was an iPod playing 'Death Cab for Cutie' as a divorcee put the moves on a younger dude on the table next to us.

Another time, we strolled in dirty and sweaty to the probable disgust of a neatly dressed gaggle of women celebrating a birthday or something. At least they weren't drinking Cosmos.

Anyway, you can smoke out back on the porch which seems to be the biggest attraction here.

Ok. I'll admit it. This, to me, seems like an old person's bar. And when I say "old person" I mean somewhere in the range of 25-45. It just seems like that kind of bar. There's rarely anyone in their early 20's in here, b/c they're all at Archie Moore's, SBC, and Stonebridge.

That being said, thank god. The reason I come here is because it's just a bunch of people chilling out, drinking, and having a good time. Granted, sometimes it's boring. And, yeah, sometimes it gets a bit nuts. But, either way, it's way more comfortable for me to go here than one of those other places that people go in Milford just to be seen.

Citrus has a good variety of liquor and an adequate selection of beer, plus an outdoor patio, which is always nice. I hear their food is decent too, but it's been years since I've eaten here, so I won't comment on that.

I mean, really, this bar isn't that exciting or anything, but compared to everything else in Milford, it's the one I prefer.
